Another Cameo

This is my second card for the Moxie Fab World challenge to use Cameos.  Here is the link:  http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/moxie-fab-world-challenge-appearance-of.html.  I used the sketch from Stamp TV this week, but I turned it on it's side

I had a cameo ring when I was younger and I used the colors to match my ring.

I stamped the floral image from Gina K's Stamp TV Kit - Spring Mix with Versamark on Ivory cardstock and heat embossed with White Pearls ep, cut out with a Nesties oval and sponged VersaMagic ink in Pink Carnation over the whole area then layered it onto a gold scalloped oval.  Adhered the lace to the peach ribbon with ScorTape 1/8" and adhered these to the Ivory layer with 1/4" ScorTape.  The sentiment rectangle was edged with a Prismacolor marker in gold.  The scalloped coral layer is from a card pack I bought on clearance at Michael's a few years ago.  The overall measurements are 4 1/4" x 5 3/4".

The Appearance of Cameos

Moxie Fab World has a challenge going on:  The Appearance of Cameos found here http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/moxie-fab-world-challenge-appearance-of.html.
Also, the JUGS Wild Card Challenge #69 this week is to create a 3-D flower.

I chose to use a floral image for my cameo.  The image was stamped with Versamark on GKD Pure Luxury Ivory cs then heat embossed with White Pearls ep to give it the dimention that a cameo has.  After the embossed image cooled, I sponged light purple chalk ink over the entire piece while still in the Nesties die.  Layered this onto a dark purple circle then onto the Gina K Designs Lovely Labels 2 by Nina Brackett which was stamped in Memento Grape Jelly on Ivory cs.  The 3-D flower was made by punching 6 scalloped circles out of light weight ivory cs, wrinkling them all up by wadding into a ball, flattening them back out then placed on top of each other and anchored with a brad that you can't see.  Then took the light purple chalk ink and rubbed it against the edges of the petals.  Added the Martha Stewart leafy branch punches and layered it all onto the purple flourishy dp from a chipboard pack that I bought a long time ago and then onto the dark purple base.

You Know You're Old When...

This week's color challenge on Stamp TV is to use Onyx Black, Red Hot and White.  I used the CardPatterns Sketch 99 found here http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/2011/01/sketch-99.html

My Little Old Lady card

I love the Gina K Design's set You Know You're Old When... and this little old lady just seemed like the perfect image for the circle layer.  She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Gina K Pure Luxury white cs and colored with Prismacolor markers.  Nesties circles were used for the layers.  Dug deep into my dp scrap box and found the polka dots and striped dp and layered them onto the GK Rocket Red (I didn't have any Red Hot) and punched the upper edge with the Fiskar's Threading Water punch.  Finished it off with the black gingham ribbon from Gina K and used a Bow Easy to tie the bow.  Layered onto a white base, quick and easy.

Heart Box

At Just Us Girls there is a challenge to make a Valentine Treat Container http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/. I needed a treat box for a boy so I went with nontraditional Valentine colors so that this could be used to store little objects all year round.

Started with a chipboard heart box and painted it with craft paint in blue.  Covered it with coordinating papers from Pebbles Inc. - Party Time Boy, using Aleene's Instant Decoupage in Matte finish.  Added 2 coats of the Instant Decoupage over the top of the dp.  Decorated the top with chipboard surfboards covered with dp and added Sakura Stardust gel pen accents/designs and letter D sprayed with Glimmer Mist in Riptide.  Stamped the palm tree and little Woody vehicle, colored with Prismacolor markers, then cut them out.  Layered onto Nesties die cuts and added the large flourish die cut.
Hope he likes it!

Sweets for the Sweet

I was inspired by the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/tuesday-trigger-sweets-for-sweet.html and the sketch at Mojo Monday http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/.

Here is the Trigger inspiration

and the sketch

Here is what I came up with

I used Tami Mayberry's Happy Hearts by Gina K Designs inked in Versamark then with Memento Rose Bud and heat embossed with clear ep.  Punched out the larger heart with an EK Success scalloped heart punch and cut out the smaller heart.  The dp is by Basic Grey Two Scoops/Swirl.  Used a piece of ribbon from by ribbon jar.  Nesties circle and scalloped circle were used for the hearts layer.  Then I had to come up with some sort of treatment for the upper left circle and found the felt photo corner, which I adhered upside down, added the pink floss bow and then the Paper Shapers flourish which I cut off the pieces I wanted to use.  White cs was used for the layers and base.  The pink cs is by DCWV Premium Stack.  Finished it off with the pink Dew Drops.

Another Moxie Color Combo

Here is another one for the Bright and Bold Color Inspiration Challenge over at Moxie Fab World
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/color-inspiration-for-card-makers-week.html

Here are the colors again

The Bazzill Basics Paper color equivalents for this combination are Beetle Black, Lily White, Pink Fairy, and Tangelo Blast.

The is also for MOJO174 at MOJO Monday  http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2011/01/mojo-monday-174.html

Lovely Labels 2, by Gina K Designs was stamped in black on white cs then cut out with Nesties Labels Sixteen.  The edges were colored with Prismacolor markers.  The sentiment from Gina K's Spring Florals was stamped in black on white, punched with a 1" circle punch and layered onto a 1 1/4" Sweet Mango circle.  Dug into my Prima Flowers and layered an orange and a pink together and anchored them with the silver rimmed pearl brad.  The black and orange polka dot dp was found in my scrap box and used an unknown rub on that was being hoarded.  Layered the Sweet Mango and black cs with a piece of lace and layered over the Tim Holtz Scrollwork border cut out in Bubblegum Pink.

Neutrals Challenge

This is the final color combo for the Color Inspiration at Moxie Fab World http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/color-inspiration-for-card-makers-week_15.html

The Bazzill Basics Paper equivalents for this soft color combination are French Vanilla, Twig, and Smoky.
I had to use Gina K Pure Luxury Ivory and Soft Sand and SU Bordering Blue.

Stamps are all by Gina K Designs - Oh Baby! and Tag Lines.  Stamped the boat on Ivory cs and colored with Prismacolor markers, trying to match these colors, but the blue was a little dark.  Used Nesties Inverted Scallop Squares to make the waves by cutting off the edges and layering.  Next I got a smudge on the sky so in come the clouds stamped on Ivory, cut out and layered above the sailboat.  The sentiment was stamped in Bordering Blue on Ivory, then layered on Soft Sand and Bordering Blue.  A square punch was used to make the banner tail.  The  notebook paper background is a digi download from Gina K Designs designed by Nina Brackett.

Monochromatic Moxie

Moxie Fab World's Color Inspiration Challenge's fifth color combo is

It's pink on pink on pink with these Bazzill Basics Paper equivalents: Bubblegum, Precious, and Pinkini.

I don't use pink very often, especially all pink even though I love it.

The cardstock is all by Bazzill, but I am not sure of the color names.  The images are from Gina K's Botanicals set.  With the lightest pink (it has a great, fine texture to it) I stamped the script using Memento Angel Pink then the flowers using Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid to give them a soft shimmer  A Martha Stewart border punch was used on the darkest pink then layered the image panel on it.  The dp is a digi download from Gina K Designs.  Added the flourish punches using the darkest pink, then layered it all onto the medium pink.

Moxie Fab Metallics

Day 4 for the Moxie Fab Color Inspiration ( http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/color-inspiration-for-card-makers-week_13.html) and here are the colors to use:

Gold Leaf Metallic, Satin Wedding White, and Pinkini

I have been loving all of the handmade flowers that I have seen everywhere.  Sherry Cheever has a video on her blog using the new Spellbinders dies  http://sherrycheever.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/.  So I did my first attempt at making one of those gorgeous flowers, and as you can see I need some practice!

I used the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Nested Flower and cut out 2 medium and 1 small flower.  The pearl brad in the center had a silver rim around it, so I used my gold Prismacolor marker to match the color palette.  The gold flourish is by Sizzix - Flourish.  Layered these onto the white Bazzill Bling cs and then onto the pink base.

Jewel Tones

Day 3 over at Moxie Fab World for their Color Inspiration challenge http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/color-inspiration-for-card-makers-week_12.html  using these Jewel Tone colors

I love the richness of this color combo and thought they would make a fun baby card

Stamps used:  Gina K Oh Baby! and Spring Mix.  Cardstock, SU Taken With Teal, Gina K Pure Luxury Ivory, Dandelion and Vibrant Violet.  The ducks are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Prismacolor markers in yellow, teal and purple shades and layered onto the Dandelion.  The Vibrant Violet layer was punched with Fiskar's Threading Water punch and adhered a little strip of the Dandelion to the back side to show through the holes.  Palette ink in Seaside was used for the Sweet Baby sentiment and punched with a 3/4" punch, layered onto 1" Dandelion circle then onto a small Nesties scalloped circle.  The teal/aqua dots were added with a Sakura Souffle Pen.

Moxie Fab Pretty Pastels Challenge

These are the colors for Day 2 of the Moxie Fab Inspiration Challenges http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/color-inspiration-for-card-makers-week_11.html and these are the colors to be used

This card looks very CAS, but it took me 3 tries with my Stampamajig to get the X & O border straight!

First, the X & O border from Gina K's set Square Pegs, illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger was stamped across the bottom of the GK Lovely Lavender cs with Memento Rose Bud using a Stampamajig.  Stamped the Pink Pirouette heart  with Happy from the GK set Happy Hearts, illustrated by Tami Mayberry in Rose Bud, then punched it out with MS heart punch and layered onto the larger hearts using up some of my scraps.  I got the Sakura Souffle Pens a couple of years ago and hardly ever use them and the light pink was the perfect color to add the dots to the large heart. This was all layered onto a Pink Pirouette card base.

Thanks for taking a look!

Moxie Fab Bright and Bold Challenge

There is a Color Inspiration challenge over at Moxie Fab World (http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/color-inspiration-for-card-makers-week.html)  using these colors

I struggled with these colors, not sure what direction to take them, but this is what I came up with

All stamps are by Gina K Designs.  The Lovely Labels 2 image was stamped with VersaFine Black on SU Pink Pirouette and outlined in orange with a Prismacolor marker.  The Happy Hearts were masked and stamped on white with Memento Rose Bud then filled in with a Sakura black glaze pen and layered onto Gina K Sweet Mango.   All of the layers were cut out with Nesties.  The hearts needed a little something, so I colored some self-adhesive rhinestones with an orange Prismacolor marker to match.  I don't remember where the black lace came from, but I found it in one of my ribbon jars. The strip of Sweet Mango was added to cover the Scor-Tape.

Gray is the New Black

There is a new challenge over at Moxie Fab World - Gray is the New Black found here:  http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/gray-is-new-black-challenge.html.  This is also for Tina's technique challenge over at Stamp TV for the January release using the emboss resist technique.

The hearts - Gina K Designs, Happy Hearts, were stamped with Versamark on white cardstock, then heat embossed with red embossing powder.  Memento London Fog ink was sponged all over the heart layer then wiped with a paper towel to remove the ink from the embossed areas.  I got the set of flourish stamps quite awhile ago and thought this one would make a great border for those hearts - Hampton Arts, Artsie Edges.   The flourish border was stamped in VersaFine black ink on Bazzill gray textured cs.  Layered the pieces on Gina K Pure Luxury Rocket Red and then onto a lighter gray card base.  Very quick and easy.

Winter White

This week's Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab is Winter White with the inspiration from this beautiful cake

Here is what I was inspired to create

Only white cardstock was used and all was sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen to give it a winter white look.  CB folders Swiss Dots and Birds and Swirls were used as well as Spellbinders Lotus Blossom and circle dies.  The hearts were stamped in Antique Linen and then sponged for more depth, then cut out and layered on the circle.  The stamps used are by Gina K Designs - Happy Hearts illustrated by Tami Mayberry.

Moxie Fab Strictly Stripes

Here is this week's Tuesday Trigger inspiration piece

I came up with this super quick and easy card

Scraps of various colors were used for the stripes.   The heart and sentiment are from Gina K Designs - Square Pegs, illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.  The heart is stamped in Colorbox Chalk Warm Red and the sentiment is Memento Paris Dusk.  The SU tag punch was used for the white layer, then adhered to the navy and trimmed by hand to layer.  The word window punch was used for the tab and a small circle punch for the faux brad.  The heart and faux brad where then colored with a Sakura clear glaze pen for some shine.  The tag is attached with dimentionals.
