Mojo Monday

Here is sketch #179 over at Mojo Monday  http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2011/02/mojo-monday-179.html

I found this fun dp at the local scrapbook store, it's doubled sided with the shamrock stripes on one side and the bold plaid on the other.  Stamped the shamrock and sentiment from the Gina K set Square Pegs illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger in Studio G green chalk ink.  Punched out the image and the circle layers with various sizes of circle punches and the scalloped circle with a Nestie.  Border punch is by Fiskar's.  Made the faux brads with a 1/4" circle punch and covered with Paper Glaze.  Quick and easy!

More Paper Piecing

I made another one for the Paper Piecing Challenge over at Moxie Fab  http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/02/stamp-it-techniques-week-paper-piecing.html

First I stamped the Inspiration Mosaic grid by Gina K on white cardstock.  Then I stamped the same grid on various little boy colored dp, cut them out and layered them onto the white solid grid, leaving 2 of the spaces white.  Then stamped the teddy bear from Gina K's Oh Baby! set right on the Mosaic grid then onto blue checked dp and cut him out and layered on top of the stamped image.  Colored his nose, ears and feet with a Prismacolor marker.  Stamped the sentiment directly onto the white grid and colored the B with a Prismacolor marker.  Used a black gel pen on his eyes and nose to make them stand out more.  Layered the grid onto Gina K Pure Luxury Little Boy Blue and Creme de Menthe cardstock.  I felt that the sentiment panel needed a little something, so I punched out the stars and colored them with Martha Steward glitter markers in gold.

Pieced Baby Ducks

This week's sketch at Mojo Monday - Sketch 178  http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2011/02/mojo-monday-178.html and Moxie Fab's Technique Challenge of Paper Piecing found here  http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/02/stamp-it-techniques-week-paper-piecing.html

This is what I came up with

The little ducks from Gina K's Oh Baby! were stamped on white cs, then I dug in my scrap box and found the 3 colors of dp to paper piece the ducks.  The wheels and duck bills were colored with Prismacolor markers as well as the wings on the ducks.  The Spellbinders Lotus die was cut out of white cs and then I trimmed off the outermost layer to make the Lotus Blossom smaller.  K & Company dp was used for the background and the smaller circle.  Layered white satin and green polka dot ribbons and made the bow with the white ribbon and wrapping the green around the center.  Added the 3 green brads.  The card base and the layer under the ducks is Gina K Pure Luxury Creme de Menthe.

Glimmer Mist

This is another card for the Moxie Fab Stamp It! Techniques, The Stamping With Shimmer Mist Challenge found here:     http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/02/stamp-it-techniques-week-stamping-with_15.html

First I masked and sprayed the background with Glimmer Mist in Sand, Turquoise Blue and Rip Tide to create a shore scene.  Stamped the shells from Gina K Designs Gifts from the Sea by Melanie Muenchinger in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Prismacolor markers and some Twinkling H2Os.  Cut the shells out and layered them on the "beach".  The bottom border is Tim Holtz Alterations die by Sizzix - Scrollwork.  Cardstock used:  Gina K Pure Luxury Chocolate Brown, Ocean Mist, White and Kraft.

Card Patterns Sketch 102

This week's Card Patterns sketch can be found here http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/2011/02/sketch-102.html

Also at Moxie Fab there is a challenge to use dye ink sprays http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/02/stamp-it-techniques-week-stamping-with_15.html

Melanie Muenchinger's set "Wild at Heart" by Gina K Designs works perfectly for this sketch.  The Wild at Heart background was stamped with Memento London Fog ink on Gina K PL Bubblegum Pink.  A pink gel pen was used for the flower centers and the berries and a watercolor marker by Zig was used for the green stems and leaves.  Cut the image into thirds and layered onto a deep pink layer.

Next came the sentiment treatment.  Gina K PL Creme de Menthe, Bubblegum pink and more of that deep pink cardstock were used.  The ribbon stamp is GKD Vintage Backgrounds by Nina Brackett.  The flower is 2 sizes of punches, one sprayed with Smooch shimmer spray that I just got and added  a a bling dot for the center.  Layered this onto the green polka dot leaves, Martha Stewart punch.  The green tag punch is outlined with pink gel pen dashes, the small scalloped circle is dotted with green Sakura Souffle gel pen and the word window punch is stamped with the sentiment and a bling dot added.

Tuesday Trigger: Decadently Yours

At Moxie Fab this is the Tuesday Trigger, Decadently Yours  http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/02/tuesday-trigger-decadently-yours.html

I needed a sympathy card so I used the colors as inspiration.  I dug through my scrap box of dp and found the stripes and the swirls that I thought complimented each other.  Used Gina K Lovely Labels 2, the larger inked in Vivid Tuscan Tan and the smaller one in Memento Rich Cocoa and also paper pieced the label with dp from DCWV Neutrals Stack.  The sentiment is Gina K Fanciful Tags.  I die cut the large flourish out of the same dp used on the label and cut it apart to place to fit the labels.  The images and card base are SU Ivory and the brown layer and strip are Bazzill dark brown.
