March 28, 2012

Today is my Niece's birthday and I made her card in her high school colors and tennis rackets because that is her sport.

I used Sporty Accessosries by Gina K.  Stamped the rackets, colored with Touch Twin Markers, cut out and glued them together and added the tennis ball.  Used a zig zag border punch.  Cardstock:  Gina K Pure Luxury White, Wild Dandelion and In the Navy.

This was made for the Belli Challenge #140 - 3 Shapes  http://bellichallenge.blogspot.com/2012/03/belli-challenge-140-3-shapes.html
I have zig zags, the tennis rackets and rectangle shaped card.

Next is an Easter card for the following challenges:
The Crazy Challenge - CCH #112 - Add a Sentiment  http://crazychallenge.blogspot.com/2012/03/cch-112-add-sentiment.html

Liebster Blog Award!

Liebster Blog Award

Thank you to Alex Turner  http://prettypaperandinkyfingers.blogspot.com/ for choosing me to receive the Liebster Award.
It is such an honor!

"The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note."

Without further adieu, here's what you do as a presenter of this award!

1.Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2.Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3.Copy and paste the blog award on your blog.
4.Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve.
5.Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.
So, now it's my turn to pay it forward, my picks for fellow bloggers with less than 200 followers, in no particular order, are as follows:

4. Miesje Flach  http://miesdf.blogspot.com/
5. Karen Knegten  http://studioatthelake.blogspot.com/
Now, if each of the 5 people I have chosen would please choose 5 of their own!
Hugs to all :-)
Thanks again, Alex!  And thanks for visiting!

Spring Tulips

I used the sketch from CPS  http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/2012/03/cps-255-part-1.html

and the Mix It Up Monday - Three for Three Spring Cards Challenge at Stamp TV  http://stamptv.ning.com/forum/topics/mix-it-up-monday-three-for-three-spring-cards

Stamped the tulips from Gina K's A Year of Flowers and the leaves from Spring Basket, also by Gina K and both illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger.  Colored with Touch Twin Markers in slightly different shades since I didn't have the exact colors..  I made a smudge that couldn't be covered up, so I cut out the flowers and layered onto another piece of white cs.  They are outlined in the light blue, but it's hard to see in the photo.  Decided that the flowers needed to be framed by something, so I used Gina K's In Stitches, illustrated by Tami Mayberry and stamped them in black.  Added the lace and ribbon, tied the buttons with Baker's twine and attached with glue dots.  The stitches in the upper right hand corner were really messy looking, so I covered it with a butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by!
