Love

I needed an  anniversary card for my husband.  I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

Started with the kraft card base and stamped the larger heart in white and heat embossed with white ep.  Stamped the little heart on white cardstock with Memento Love Letter and cut it out to pop up over the larger heart.  Masked an area above the heart and stamped the stitches in Memento Espresso Truffle and stamped the sentiment in the same red as the little heart.
Stamps used:  Gina K Happy Hearts, In Stitches and Many Wishes.

Retro Sketch

Loving this sketch from Retro Sketches

The heart was made by smearing Distress Stains in various colors, then misting to blend the colors together.  After drying, spritzed with a couple different colors of Glimmer Mist.  Let dry again and die cut with Sizzix heart die.  Painted the houndstooth dp with Gesso.  Placed a strip of orange dotted washi tape on white cs and die cut the fishtail tag.  Punched the sentiment with an oval punch and embossed the Core'dinations teal cs with a lattice Cuttlebug folder and lightly sanded.  Used Warm Cocoa cs by Gina K for the card base and the mat for he houndstooth layer.

Flowers in a Vase

Two challenges today:  the color challenge at The Play Date Cafe and the challenge to use a masking technique at Just Us Girls

I dug out the SU Watercolor Minis, which worked perfectly with the colors.  Stamped the flowers with Memento Angel Pink, Love Letter and Rhubarb Stalk on watercolor paper for some texture.  Stamped the vase from the Gina K set Vogue Vases with Brilliance Pearlescent Poppy for a little shimmer.  Masked the vase and the bottom of the card and sponged Distress Inks in Weathered Wood and Black Soot.  Rounded a couple of corners and layered onto burgundy cs and a white card base.  A green gel pen was used to make the stems of the flowers.

Another Valentine

Three challenges combined!  The sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and the theme - Valentine from both CAS on Sunday and Washi Up Challenge

This was a quick and fun card to make.  Punched out the View Master disk from a sheet of dp - Toy Box by Echo Park.  Stamped the heart from the Gina K set Happy Hearts in Memento Rhubarb Stalk and cut out.  Placed a strip of green washi tape across the card and stamped the sentiment with another Gina K set Lots of Letters in Memento Tuxedo Black.  I used Pool cardstock from Ellen Hutson for the card base.

Happy Colors

I made this for the Love Letters challenge from CAS-ual Fridays

cfc88

The dp is from Mel Stampz, she has lots of free, fun patterns on her blog.  Die cut the pennant, added some Basic Grey sticker letters and tied some light green (sprout) baker's twine around the end.  Quick and easy.

Wooden Pieces

I found some fun wooden hearts and some chipboard Scrabble pieces that I just had to use.  It fits the challenge at a new challenge blog CAS on Sunday - to make a Valentine themed card and I used the sketch from Retro Sketches and another one for CAS-ual Fridays - Love Letters.

I love the cardstock from Ellen Hutson, the one side is colored and the other is white, great for the insides of cards.  Cut a strip of red polka dot dp and layered onto a piece of kraft.  Added the hearts and the Scrabble pieces, and done!  I adhered the Scrabble pieces onto a strip of cs before sticking it to the card itself.

Loving CAS

I am really liking all of the CAS challenges, which I tend to struggle with.  Great sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch

I really like this layout, so I made 2 cards.

The first one uses a wooden star that I colored with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Mustard Seed, some fun polka dotted dp and an old SU sentiment that I cut out  and layered on Gina K Pure Luxury Kraft for the card base.

The second one uses the Gina K set Live Life Loud.  Stamped the gradient dot frame in Memento Toffee Crunch, stamped the guitar with Memento Tuxedo Black, colored the guitar with a Touch Twin Marker and covered it with a clear glaze pen for shine.  Cut out the image panel and added the red and yellow layered pennants for a little splash of color.  The card base is Gina K Pure Luxury Denim Blue.
