Sketched Thank You

Playing along with the sketch challenge at STAMPlorations Blog

I used STAMPlorations Chevron & Arrows set stamping the arrows with VersaFine Onxy.  Stamped the sentiment inside a punched out window.  Added some Pearl Pen pearls in Sunny Yellow.  This was really hard to get a halfway decent photo of.

This will be Lee-Anne's last week with us as our Guest Designer.  Please stop by her blog and give her some love.  She has provided us with a whole month of wonderful designs.

Using some of my new stamps and dies from WPlus9.  Stamped the banner on the gingham paper, then stamped again on white cardstock and heat embossed with clear ep, cut out the little banners and glued onto the original one.  Colored the little hearts with a glitter gel pen.  Stamped the balloons with Hero Arts Shadow inks and die cut.  Stamped the bold "happy" then added white Souffle pen dots.  Finished it off by added a sprinkling of sequins.

Sweet Baby

Playing with the Mod Squad Challenge - Spring into Spring.  You are to use stamps to make your own background paper (the stars) and to use at least 3 spring colors (pink, yellow and orange).

Stamped the stars from WPlus9 with Versamark and heat embossed with yellow embossing powder.  Stamped the little sleeping duck by Suzi's Zoo on watercolor paper and colored with Inktense watercolor pencils and wet brush.  Cut the duck out and laying her on a strip of washi tape.  Stamped and punched the flowers - Martha Stewart, then shaped with a stylus and added a Paper Pen dot to the centers.  Die cut the sentiment and layered onto the die cut tag and added another strip of the same washi tape.  Cardstock and sentiment by Gina K.

Masculine Birthday

Playing around watercoloring with Distress Inks and playing in some challenges, too.

TIME OUT - birthday with a masculine twist

STAMPlorations - April Challenge - Stamps & Technique

CASology - Wet

Stamped the images with Memories black ink on Tim Holtz Water Color paper then used distress inks to paint the scene.  I smeared the inks on my craft mat and added a little water off to the side.  Dipped the brush in the water then the inks.  The blue panel is Distress Ink direct to paper, sliding it from left to right.
Stamped the sentiment on blue vellum, heat embossed with white ep and attached over the image.
This card was inspired by Michele Zindorf's style.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls Technique Challenge #236

Lisa is challenging us to make a watercolor background this week.  This is totally new to me, but I love to try new techniques and I think it is going to be one of my new favorites.

Don't forget to check out  our Guest Designer - Lee Anne.

I used  Twinkling H2Os in varying shades of orange for the background on Tim Holtz watercolor paper.  Then stamped the flowers and sentiment from Gina K in Memories Black ink after the background was dry.  Layered on black and onto SU Apricot Appeal.  Rounded one corner to add some interest.

Cupcakes

Always in need of a birthday card so I used the Stamplorations sketch

Simon Says Stamp theme - Happy Easter and/or Sweet Treats

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

And the TIME OUT Challenge - Birthday with optional twist of make it masculine

I obviously did not go masculine!  Punched out squares of orange polka dot dp and rounded the two opposite corners on each.  Added white circles, but it looked too plain, so added the faux stitching with a black gel pen.  Added 2 strips of washing tape, lining them up, to the white layer.  The cupcakes are an old Sizzix die colored with Touch Twin markers and then stamped with the heart sprinkles from Gina K's Square Pegs.  Stamped the sentiment, also from Gina K in Versafine Onyx.  The card base is Gina K Pure Luxury Mango.

Big Celebration

I used the theme from Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - birthday celebration.

And the challenge to make your own background paper from Mod Squad Challenge - Let's DIY!

First I used spackle (don't have any modeling paste) with a dot stencil and let it dry.  Then stamped the large flourish with Versamark and clear embossed.  Stamped the sentiment with Memento Luxe Nautical Blue and heat embossed with clear ep. Layed some strips of yellow patterned washi tape on white cardstock and then punched out the stars.  Added a couple of layered strips of washi tape under the sentiment and a Paper Pen dot to hide the middle strip that was just a little short.  Wanted to add some bling, so in come the sequins and the small rhinestones

Watercolor Background with Iron-Off Embossing

Playing around with a technique I learned from Jennifer McGuire's Blog - Watercolor Backgrounds and  Iron-off Embossing.  Be careful when you visit her blog, she is quite the enabler, she makes you need things you didn't know you needed.

I stamped the flourish with Versamark on watercolor paper and heat embossed with clear ep.  Added Distress Inks with sponges randomly on the watercolor paper and misted heavily to blend the colors.  Got impatient waiting for it to dry, so used my heat gun to speed up the process.  Inked the flowers with Distress Markers, lightly misted and stamped on white cardstock.  Framed the flowers with Core'dinations Shattered die cut with an oval frame, lightly sanded around the edges and adhered with Tombow Mono.  Added the leaves, died ribbon with threaded button - attached with a Tombow Power Tab, vellum butterfly (sponged with Brilliance Ink) and some Paper Pen pearls in cream.

Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge #235

Maria has a really fun sketch for us this week!

We also have a new Guest Designer with us this month - Lee Anne!

Not much stamping on this one!  The wooden butterflies are stamped with various parts of a flourish stamp in Brilliance Orchid (but I think it looks more pink) then added some pink Paper Pen pearls to the bodies.  The striped strips are washi tape.  Die cut some circles and sponged the centers while they were still in the die.  Stamped the sentiment with Memento Olive Grove ink.

I am also entering this is The Card Concept Challenge to use a butterfly in the Clean and Layered category.

ColorfuLEE Yours!

Sneaking one more in for the Mod Squad Challenge this week.

I used a wood textured piece of kraft cardstock for the background, Core'dinations Shattered red and strips of polka dot dp.  Added some half circles of dark brown cardstock to the ends of the strips and used a red Paper Pen to add the dots.  Word Window punch to add the sentiment and a tiny wooden star.
