Just Us Girls Inspiration Challenge #251

We have a fun inspirational photo from Sharyn for our challenge this week at Just Us Girls!  It looks like a summer party!

With us again this week as our Guest Designer is Rebekka Reed!

As soon as I saw that photo I knew exactly which image I was going to use!  Some Wink of Stella was added to the margarita mix and some white Wink of Stella to the rim of the glass.

Just a reminder:  If you win Chic of the Week in any of our July challenges, you are in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of September.

Hope you will join in on this week's challenge!

Let's Celebrate

A very simple birthday card.  I played along with the following challenges:

STAMPlorations - Stamps and Glitter

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Spots and Dots

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog
CAS(E) this Sketch

First sprayed the background with pink, peach and yellow Heidi Swapp shimmer sprays.  Then stamped the sentiment, masked it and stamped the splat both from STAMPlorations Holiday Artsy.  Added some black Wink of Stella to the splat and added small dots of black Stickles.

Thanks for stopping by!

STAMPlorations Sketch - Guest Designer

I am so excited!  I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the second time at STAMPlorations for winning one of their sketch challenges.  I just love their stamps, so trendy and fun.

Here is the current sketch

I used a stencil to make the striped panel with navy and aqua inks.  The large circle stain is a stencil from STAMPlorations and the smaller circle stains and ink swish is also STAMPlorations - Holiday Artsy (love this set).

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Color Challenge

Vicki is our challenge hostess this week at Just Us Girls with a fun, fresh color combo.

And, also this week there is a prize being offered from Dare 2B Artsy who is graciously sponsoring us this week in celebration of our 250th challenge.

Our Chic of the Week with receive a stamp set of their choice $14.99 or less!

Don't forget to check out our July Guest Designer Rebekka Reed.

I took these fun colors and went a different direction.  I am sadly running low on sympathy cards.  The background was made with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters with TH watercolor paper using the textured side.  The images and sentiment were stamped with Memento Olive Grove ink and highlights added with a white gel pen.  Stamps used:  Gina K, Technique Tuesday and WPlus9.

Just a reminder:  If you win Chic of the Week in any of our July challenges, you are in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of September.  Good luck!

Arrow Birthday

Playing with the sketch at STAMPlorations

Stamped the arrows from Chevron and Arrows by STAMPlorations with Hero Arts Tide Pool ink.  Stamped the rectangular piece from Retro Mod Shapes, also STAMPlorations, with Hero Arts Orange Soda and stamped the happy with VersaFine Onyx on a separate piece of white cs.  Added black gel pen dots around the circle, punched out a piece on the arrow panel and inlaid the happy circle.  Then stamped the birthday also in VersaFine Onyx.  The piece wasn't centered very well, so die cut it and layered it onto a white base.

Thanks for stopping by!

JUGS Challenge #249 - Trend Week

Another one of our new challenges at Just Us Girls this week with Cheryl as our hostess using current trends.  Cheryl's challenge is to use woodgrain in some way on your card.

We also welcome back for another week as our Guest Designer for June - Rebekka Reed!

I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's Die Cut Window Cards.  First embossed some Core'dinations cs with wood embossing folder.  Sanded the raised parts, but wasn't enough contrast for me, so smeared on some Memento Luxe Wedding Dress ink.  After that dried I die cut the circle and added some patterned paper.  Die cut the happy from dark brown Bazzill and adhered it over the circle then stamped the birthday in Memento Espresso Truffle.  Made the card base from the same dark brown Bazzill as the happy.  Then it needed a little something, so I pulled out my little wood pieces that I had won and added the little stars and the chevron pieces to finish it off.
I needed something quick and easy for this week because my 4 month old grandson is visiting and I want to spend all of my time with him, and his mom and dad, too.  We don't get to see them very often because they live 12 hours away, out on the east coast.

We would love to have you join us this week in another one of our new challenges.
Just a reminder:  If you win Chic of the Week in any of our June challenges, you are in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of August.

JUGS Challenge #248 - Word Week

We are changing things up a bit at Just Us Girls!  Check out our new lineup of challenges.

Maria is our challenge hostess with our first new challenge - Word Week.  You are to use the Word in any way that inspires you.

We would also like to welcome our Guest Designer for the month of June, Rebekka Reed!

For my bird, I chose ducks.  Stamps used:  Gina K Oh Baby!, STAMPlorations Eclectic Florals and and old SU set, So Very.
Colored the ducks with Touch Twin markers.  Stamped the flower with Brilliance yellow and "sweet" with Stazon Teal then ran it through my Xyron and adhered to a Tim Holtz clear tag thingy and tied with brown polka dot ribbon.  Stamped the "so very" with Memento Luxe Espresso Truffle and heat embossed with clear ep on yellow cs and added a strip of turquoise polka dot washi tape.  Cardstock used:  Gina K white, Turquoise Sea, Wild Dandelion and Creme de Menthe.

I am also entering this is The Card Concept challenge - Oh Baby! for the clean and layered category.

We would love to have you join us this week in the first one of our new challenges.
Just a reminder:  If you win Chic of the Week in any of our June challenges, you are in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of August.
