Too Cute to Spook

Playing with CASology

Using a pre-made ghost card that I picked up somewhere last year, Placed a piece of washi tape to ground the images then stamped the little ghosts and colored with Wink of Stella white and black.  Candy colored with Distress Markers.  Used some Sakura black glaze pen on the eyes and a row on dots along the scalloped bottom.

So Sorry

Lately I seem to be making and needing a lot of sympathy cards.  For this one I used the sketch at STAMPlorations

This started out to be a one layer card, until I got a smudge of ink where it didn't belong and I couldn't creatively cover it any other way.  I used a reverse mask for the oval, sponging Tim Holtz Scattered Straw Distress ink, then stamped the weathered background with TH Brushed Corduroy.  Stamped the flowers from Eclectic Florals with Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk and the stems and sentiment with Memento Olive Grove. Added some brown Wink of Stella to the flower centers. Die cut the same oval from some woodgrain cardstock, it didn't line up quite right, so die cut the dark brown oval frame to fit inside the  woodgrain oval.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Challenge #264 - Photo Week

Maria has found this beautiful photo to inspire us with for Photo Week at Just Us Girls!

Wanda Cullen is with us as our Guest Designer for this last week in October.  It has been such a pleasure to have her here with us.  Come check out what she has come up with for this challenge as well as the rest of the talented Design Team at

I was inspired by the sunflowers and the basket.  These flowers are sunflower - wannabe's!  The flowers and basket are by Gina K,  colored with Touch Twin Markers.  The  brown circle was stamped with an old SU background stamp - Weathered, then distressed the edges and sponged some darker brown ink around the edge.  The flourish stamp is from Inkadinkado.  Sponged the edges of the yellow cardstock and layered onto a brown base.

Come play along with us at Just Us Girls for a chance to become our Chic of the Week and for a chance to become our Guest Designer for the month of December.  Please limit your entries to 3.

I am also entering this in the challenge at The Card Concept.  I would have to say this fits the category for Shabby Chic since I did some distressing and sponging.

All stamps are by Gina K Designs.  The flowers were stamped with Memento black onto Ivory cardstock and colored with Touch Twin Markers, using Navy, Purple and Olive then outlined them with a pale blue marker.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Nautical Blue and the lacy edge was stamped with Memento Olive Grove.  Added a strip of purple ribbon and layered onto some Olive cardstock and onto an Ivory base.

Bricks and Flowers

The October challenge at STAMPlorations is Stamps and Embossing

And for the Anything Goes Challenge using STAMPloration Stamps

Using STAMPlorations stamp sets Eclectic Florals and Grunge Floral Strips.  For the strips I stamped in Versamark and used Tim Holtz Distress embossing powder and on the flowers, also stamped with Versamark used WOW Warm Red embossing powder and heat embossed.  Stamped the stems with Memento Olive Grove. After embossing I noticed a speck of red on the background, so added some light splatters to hide it.  Used a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder for the background and rubbed Distress Inks Antique Linen and Vintage Photo with the ink pads direct to the background.  Added some pieces of a word window punch to the floral strips and some small punched circles that were smeared with Encore Bronze ink.

Thanks for stopping by!

Masculine Birthday Sketch

Playing with STAMPlorations in their sketch challenge.

I used Chevron and Arrows from STAMPlorations.  Stamped the chevron strips and the arrow strips with Versamark and heat embossed with tan embossing powder.  Stenciled the splotches on the cream cardstock (stencil also from STAMPlorations).  Stamped the sentiment down the side and wasn't happy with it, so stamped it again on some sand cardstock and die cut with a banner die and layered over top of the stamped sentiment.

Thanks for visiting!

Just Us Girls Challenge #262 - Trend

Sue T. has chosen the Ombre - Technique for our Trend Week Challenge at Just Us Girls!  This is Sue T.'s last week with us, we are really going to miss her :(

Come and check out what our Design Team and our Guest Designer Wanda Cullen have created for this Ombre Challenge!  And since I did last week's post way ahead of the publish date due to being out of town, I would like to welcome our two newest and very talented Design Team members,  Chris and Ina!

I used a paint chip sample for my background.  Stamped the balloons in shades of orange and die cut them.  Stamped the strings first then attaching the balloons.  Stamped the birthday sentiment in black and die cut the happy in black, apricot and white and stacked them slightly off to show the layers.  Added a few orange sequins.  Framed it in black and layered onto Gina K Sweet Mango and onto a white base.

Now let's see your ombre cards!  You could be chosen as our Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of December.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls Challenge #261 - Word Week

This week is Word Week at Just Us Girls with Sharyn as our hostess and has chosen "Celebrate" as our word.  There are lots of reasons to celebrate, show us what you are celebrating!

Just Us Girls would like to welcome our October Guest Designer - Wanda Cullen!

I am celebrating a very good friend's birthday next week and her favorite colors are purple and pink, so this challenge had perfect timing for me.
I stamped the Autumn Leaves flourishes in Memento Grape Jelly onto some pink striped paper from my stash.  Die cut the Celebrate from Core'dinations Glitter Silk cardstock and added a strip of washi tape.  Quick and simple!

Now come play along with us at Just Us Girls for a chance to become our Guest Designer for the month of December!  Please limit your entries to 3 and good luck!
