The Male Room Washi Challenge

There is a great challenge at The Male Room, to use some of that washi tape they we all had to have.

The background is an inked Tim Holtz stencil.  Added a couple strips of washi tape, die cut a circle and a glitter paper star.  Stamped the sentiment using my MISTI to get perfect alignment.  Stamped the guitar with Versamark on kraft then heat embossed with some blue ep.  I wanted a little more contrast on the guitar, so I colored the kraft area in with brown Wink of Stella.

Thanks for visiting!

Just Us Girls Photo Week - #294

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls!  Lisa has found this beautiful photo for our inspiration.  I love the colors!

Come on over to Just Us Girls and see what our Guest Designer, Tenia Nelson and the rest of the JUGS Team were inspired to create.

It's obvious that I was inspired by the colors on that gorgeous entry. I used my new set from WPlus9 - Pretty Little Peonies.  The flower was stamped in 2 shades of peach/coral then used a tag punch and cut a layer to mat it.  The Sentiment is from Gina K and stamped in Versafine Onyx.  The striped paper is a freebie from Mel Stampz.

Now it's your turn to get inspired by the photo for our challenge!  Who knows,, you could be our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for the possibility to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Masculine Color Challenge

I love the color combo at The Male Room for their current challenge

Also playing in the challenge at TIME OUT - Grunge with the optional twist of embossing.

Splat stamps from WPlus9 and all the rest are from Gina K.  Stamped the dotted rectangle with kraft ink on ivory, then stamped the flourishy image and sentiment with Memento Olive Grove.  Stamped the guitar with Memento Teal Zeal and cut it out, then added some Wink of Stella in clear and gold.  Stamped a music score with kraft ink on kraft cardstock then sponged some more ink around the edges.  Layered both of these panels onto some teal cardstock and distressed the edges.  Stamped the grid and splatters on the kraft base then adhered the panels.  Decided it needed a little something more, so I stamped the star on kraft, punched it out and covered it with Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint then popped it up with a foam dot.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Simple Masculine Birthday

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches
And the colors from The Male Room

In this photo the Memento Teal Zeal looks more turquoise :(,  I used my MISTI to stamp the arrows in a straight line using Memento Olive Grove and added the dotted lines which are in a stitches set with Teal Zeal.  Layered the circle in the same colors.  Sponged Teal Zeal ink on some white cardstock to match the stamped circle and die cut the happy and the little banner.  Stamps by Gina K and the birthday is by WPlus9.

So glad you dropped by!

Just Us Girls Color Week #293

Chris has some beautiful colors for us at Just Us Girls for Color Week and an awesome photo with those colors for lots of inspiration.

We hope these colors inspire you to come play along with our May Guest Designer - Tenia Nelson and the rest of the JUGS Team.

I was able to incorporate all of the colors into this.  The jar and flowers stamps are from STAMPlorations.  The jar is stamped on acetate and colored on the back side with a Prismacolor marker.  The little bow is a die from Avery Elle.

I have been wanting to use these glasses and the time was right.  The graph/grid stamp is by Kaiserkraft, little stars by WPlus9 and the rest all all by Gina K.  Added some light green Wink of Stella to the lenses and clear Wink of Stella on the "Smile".

Can't wait to see how these colors inspire you, who knows, you could be our next Chic of the Week.  All of the Chics from the May challenges will be eligible to possibly become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls Trend Week #292

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has an easy one for us this week - Embossing!

Come see what our May Guest Designer - Tenia Nelson and the rest of the amazing JUGS Design Team have created with embossing.

The background is Core'dinations Kraft Core which was embossed with a striped embossing folder and sanded to reveal the kraft core.  The frame around the sprig (Gina K) was first heat embossed with Stampendous Antique Gold ep and then heat embossed with Tim Holtz Distress EP in Vintage Photo.  The sprig looked too blah, so added a little more color to the leaves and stem with Distress Markers and then some clear Wink of Stella on the leaves.

We hope you will come and play along with us and show us your embossed creations!  You could be our next Chic of the Week, which would open the possibility to becoming our next Guest Designer.

Old Bird

The challenge at The Male Room is birds.  This really had me digging through my stamps since I don't do birds very often let alone a masculine version.

I also used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch! for my starting point.

I used a Core'dinations yellow card base, love the texture.  Stamped some stripes in black ink on the red fishtail tag using my MISTI.  Die cut the kraft tag with Tim Holtz Tiny Tags die, added some washi tape and the bird panel, then stamped the sentiment in black.  Tied some black and white baker's twine on top.  The bird was colored with Prismacolor Markers.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls Word Week #291

This week is Word Week at Just Us Girls and Cheryl has chosen the word "Twine".  Let's see how creative you can be with your twine!

I would like to welcome our Guest Designer for the month of May, the very talented
Tenia Nelson.  Come on over to the Just Us Girls Blog to see what Tenia and the rest of the talented JUGS team has created with twine.

Background chevrons were stamped with my MISTI with Hero Arts Wet Cement ink.  Stamped the large flouish with Versafine Onxy.  Layered the 2 banners and stamped the sentiment, then added faux stitching connecting the holes.  I thought it needed just a little something more, so I stamped the tiny hearts in Memento Rose Bud ink.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running to possibly be our July Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.
