Just Us Girls #328 - Wild Card

We have a fifth week this month, so it's Wild Card time with Chris as our hostess at Just Us Girls!  We are playing Tic Tac Toe!  Pick a row, horizontal, diagonal or vertical and use those items on your creation.

I would like to thank Vicki Parsons and Deepti Malik for being awesome Guest Designers for us this past month!  Come on over to Just Us Girls to see what Vicki, Deepti and the rest our our Design Team have created by playing Tic Tac Toe.

I chose the line with 3 layers, stamps and buttons.  I wasn't too sure about the 3 layers, if it includes the card base, then my big heart is an embellishment!  I don't use buttons very often, so this was a tough one for me.  I stamped the heart on white cardstock then adhered to a clear button and tied it with black and white baker's twine.  The large red layer was stamped with Colorbox Warm Red in with the very old Stampin Up background stamp Crosshatch.  The large heart was stamped/embossed by inking an embossing folder with brown ink and running through my Big Shot.

Come on over to JUGS to play Tic Tac Toe with us.  You could be our next Chic of the Week giving you a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  You have until Thursday, February 4th, 9:00 pm.  Please limit your entries to 3.

2nd Birthday!

My youngest grandson turns 2 very soon and is really into the Cars characters.  The challenge at The Male Room is absolutely perfect timing for his birthday card.

This is also a fit at Addicted to Stamps and More - Make Your Mark

I searched the web for Cars coloring book pages and found this one.  I colored it with Prismacolor markers and cut it out.  Tinted some embossing paste and used a star stencil on the background and added a black die cut frame..  Stamped and embossed the black chevron/arrow strip.  Added a large glittery star that I made a darker yellow with a Prismacolor marker and layered the sentiment onto it.  Lightning McQueen is mounted onto the card with a Wobble to add some fun to this.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #327 - Photo Week

Sharyn has an awesome photo this week at Just Us Girls to inspire us in the Photo Challenge.  I love the colors and the nautical theme.

How does this photo inspire you?  Hop on over to Just Us Girls to see how it inspired our Guest Designers - Vicki Parsons and Deepti Malik along with the rest of our Design Team.

It's easy to see that I was inspired by the colors and the patterns.  I stamped the chevron from Gina K - Pretty Patterns 3 times in Memento Nautical Blue with my MISTI.  Stamped the anchor and the rope, also from Gina K and colored with Touch Twin markers and fussy cut them.  The anchor was lost against the chevron, so I sponged a die cut circle tag and adhered the anchor to it.  Stamped the big Celebrate in Memento Luxe Dandelion.  I had to add the little flag tab to cover a small smudge.

Come on over to JUGS and show us how this photo inspires you.  You could be our next Chic of the Week giving you a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  You have until Thursday, January 28th, 9:00 pm.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #326 - Color Week

Maria is our hostess for our Color Week at Just Us Girls and she has a beautiful blend of dark blue, light blue and white.  Don't use any other colors, except these three.

Come on over to Just Us Girls to see how these colors inspired our Guest Designers - Vicki Parsons and Deepti Malik along with the rest of our Design Team.

I love these colors together!  Stamped the large and small circles from Gina K's - Lots of Lines with Memento Soft Sky and used the period stamp from Gina's Lots of Letters with Memento Nautical Blue.  Stamped the sentiment with Memento Nautical Blue 3 times using my MISTI for a nice even, bold color.  Die cut with a pierced fishtail tag, stamped the little heart with Versamark and heat embossed with white ep, then finished it off with a white gel pen for some faux stitching.

Now it's your turn to come on over and play with us at Just Us Girls.  You could be our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

90th Birthday!

I used the sketch and photo from Fusion Card Challenge for inspiration for this 90th birthday card.

First I inked the chevron embossing folder with Hero Arts Lemon Yellow ink and ran it through my Big Shot.  Die cut the various pieces and layered them.  Tied the little circle tag with some pink scrapbook floss.  Added some tiny pearls on the green label.

Thanks for visiting!

Birthday Bird

The theme at The Male Room is Anything Goes!

And I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Die cut some paper thin cork for the strip.  Used a Sizzix Latches die to join the strips together, used Tea Dye Distress embossing powder on the latch and attached with black brads.  Die cut the circle tag, by Tim Holtz - Tiny Tags and Tabs, rubbed copper ink around the edges and die cut the sentiment to layer onto the tag.  Then I decided it needed something more, so in comes the Bird Crazy Bird by Tim Holtz along with his accessories.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #325 - Trend Week

It's my turn to bring your this week's Trend Challenge at Just Us Girls and my challenge is for you to use metal/metallics in any way you want on your creation.  Some examples:  foils, charms, embossing powder, or anything else you can come up with.

Come on over to the JUGS blog to see what our Guest Designers, Vicki Parsons and Deepti Malik along with the rest of the JUGS Design Team have come up with for this challenge.

The Technique Tuesday Flourish was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with WOW copper embossing powder.  Die cut the sentiment with shiny silver metallic cardstock and also matted the sentiment panel with the same silver cardstock.

I had to make a second card.
It is so hard to get a good photo of metallic cardstock!  I stamped the Stampendous flourish with Versafine Onyx ink, reinking and stamping 3 times to get a nice coverage using my MISTI on copper metallic cardstock.  Die cut the Thanks from some embossed gold metallic cardstock and some black to give the sentiment a shadow effect by offsetting the 2.

Now it's your turn to come on over to Just Us Girls and show us some metal!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Using stamps by Gina K and Stampendous (large flourish).  Stamped the houndstooth with Mememto Soft Sand, the stitches and sentiment with Memento Espresso Truffle and the flourish with Colorbox Chalk ink in Burnt Sienna.  I've been on a one layer kick!

Now it's your turn to come play along with us.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
