Patterned Hearts

Still making Valentine cards and this one uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

And the theme from CAS-ual Fridays

Die cut various sized hearts from different patterns with the littlest one from red glitter paper.  Sponged the edges of the 3 larger hearts.  Added a strip of washi tape.  Stamped the xoxox from Gina K's Square Pegs and cut out one line and adhered to the pink striped background.  The card base is a deep pink.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Just Us Girls #378 - Photo Week

It's time for  a Photo Week Challenge at Just Us Girls with Nancy as our hostess and she has chosen a beautiful photo for our inspiration!

I want to say Thank You to our Guest Designer, Shawna Standish for sharing all of your talent with us this past month!  Come check out what Shawna and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created with this Photo as inspiration.

Stamped the daisy from A Year of Flowers by Gina K onto some book print paper.  Colored it with Picket Fence Distress Marker and Wink of Stella pens in light green and yellow.  Added the ladybug and colored with a Touch Twin marker and added some clear glaze.  Added the sentiment from Hero Arts in Versafine Onyx.  Adhered to some red polka dot paper from my huge pile of stash.
This is my second take on this card, the first one the print was upside down and I didn't realize it until I was writing this post!

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Fresh and Bold Hello

Playing along with the challenge at The Card Concept

This started out by sponging pink ink through a polka dot stencil.  Die cut the big flower with a Spellbinders die from orange cardstock and added the dots with a white gel pen.  Added a hot pink circle, a scalloped edge brad I found deep in my stash and added pink Stickles to the center.  Stamped the sentiment, then adhered it to some fun foam and die cut the hello by Concord & 9th.  Added the strip of deep pink cardstock and mounted it all onto an orange base.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Wishing You Comfort and Peace

This is the second post today.  I hate that I am needing so many sympathy cards lately!  For this one I used the sketch from
CAS(E) this Sketch

And the Code Word from Addicted to CAS - Wish

First I did a wash of watercolor on the background then stamped the flowers from Concord & 9th.  Added a little more color to the flowers with more watercolor and then added some Wink of Stella in yellow and red over the watercolor on the flowers. Layers are black, Tomato Soup from Gina K and olive.  Sentiment is from Gina K.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love and Celebrate

I have a couple of cards to post today.  The first one is a birthday card for my nephew following a couple of challenges.
CAS-ual Fridays

And Cardz 4 Guyz using the Triple Mat Technique

Cardz 4 Guyz Logo

I used Delicata Golden Glitz ink on kraft for the background using a CASual Fridays stamp from Rad.  Instead of matting each layer, I sponged Walnut Distress Ink around the edges to define them.  Added the bottle from Altenew which was stamped with Mustard Seed and then sponged around the edge with more Walnut, both Distress Inks.  Added some patterned paper for the label and layered the "celebrate" onto a dark chocolate oval.

And another card using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

The hexagon heart borders were stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Warm Red ep.  Added some clear glitter gel pen to the little hearts.  Stamped the LOVE in black on some ivory cardstock, colored the heart and added some glaze gel pen to make the heart shiny.  Both of these stamps are from Gina K.  Added the falling hearts stamp from Altenew with Memento Love Letter.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #377 - Color Week

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls with Chris as our hostess!  She has chosen a beautiful color combo with lots of possibilities.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our Guest Designer, Shawna Standish and the rest of the Design Team have created with this beautiful color combo.

Stamped the woodgrain background from Concord and 9th with London Fog Memento ink on light gray cardstock then die cut the striped heart, also from Concord & 9th.  Added some pink glittered cardstock behind the heart.  Stamped the peony from Altenew in shades of pink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Added the die cut beautiful from Concord & 9th cut from navy.

Now it's your turn to create something with these beautiful colors.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Caution!

I needed a card for a male friend who is turning 60 and the challenge at The Male Room, Challenge #52 - Stash to use Washi tape was perfect timing for this.

The sentiment/sign is an old set from Stampin Up stamped with Versafine Onyx ink on white.  Die cut the star from yellow cardstock and spritzed with some yellow Shimmer Spray.  Dug through my stash pile of patterned papers and pulled out this blue striped piece for the background.  Added a strip of caution washi tape.

Thanks for dropping in!

Just Us Girls #376 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen All Over Stamping as our challenge this week!

We have the very talented Shawna Standish with us again this week as our Guest Designer!  Come see the awesome creations that Shawna and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have come up with this week.

I started out by using some little flower and leaf stamps with Lake Mist Ranger Adirondack ink.  I then stamped the sentiment in black and decided it needed a little something else, that is when it went very wrong!  Didn't like it, so die cut the center out of the stamped panel, grabbed another piece of pink cardstock and stamped the flowers all over in Hero Arts Bubble Gum, masking as I went, then added the sentiment to that and mounted under the original piece.  Still didn't like it, so added some gel pen around the inside of the  opening to give it some definition and mounted onto a darker pink card base.  That is when I noticed some oops, so in came the glittery dots.  All stamps are by Concord & 9th.

Come play along with us with this fun technique (hopefully yours will go smoother than my attempt) and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to be our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Let It Go

This is my new outlook on life to just let it go!

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

And the Color Combo from CAS on Sunday Challenge #99

Black and white, with one color of your choice

And another challenge for this one at Cardz 4 Guyz - Up, Up and Away #151

Cardz 4 Guyz Logo

And one more challenge over at The Male Room

Stamped Ribbon Stripes and In Stitches both from Gina K with Memento Tuxedo Black ink down the left side.  Used Lots of Letters, also by Gina K to stamp the sentiment.  The balloon is from Avery Elle stamped with Memento Tangelo ink and Tuxedo Black for the string.  I used my MISTI which made lining everything up pretty easy.

This one is for the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches for their Colour Challenge this week.

The background is watercolored and then splattered using Distress Inks.  The butterfly is by Concord & 9th die cut from pink cardstock and then heat embossed with Pearl embossing powder.  The flourish (which I wish I would have used a lighter shade) is from Kitchen Sink Stamps and stamped in Memento Sweet Plum and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping in, I really appreciate it!

Just Us Girls #375 - Word Week

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  We are back for a new year at Just Us Girls with our first challenge of the year with Ina as our hostess for Word Week and such a perfect word it is!

I would like to welcome our January Guest Designer Shawna Standish!  Pop on over to the JUGS Challenge Blog to see how Shawna and the rest of the very talented Design Team were inspired to create with our Word - New.

Since it is a new year, which means a new start, I thought it was time to "reboot" and start anew!  I used some Gina K stamps - Tech Talk and Lots of Dots Alphabet.  Stamped the laptop, colored with Touch Twin markers and cut it out.  Added some gel pen to the heart and covered the blue screen of death with some glaze.  Stamped the reboot with Versamark and heat embossed with yellow ep.  Grabbed a random piece of patterned paper from my stash and mounted it onto a blue card base.

Come show us what New inspires you to make, it could be some new stamps/toys you got for Christmas or anything else that pops into your head.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
