Just Us Girls #429 - Photo Week

It's time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen a gorgeous photo for our inspiration!

It's sadly our last week with Tenia Nelson as our February Guest Designer and I want to thank her for sharing all of her amazing creations with us!  Now pop on over to JUGS to see what Tenia and the rest of the talented Design Team have created with this photo as inspiration.

Used a triple circle die from Simon Says Stamp to create the openings for my Stamplorations flowers to peek out of.  The flowers were stamped onto some grayish purple striped cardstock.  Stamped the sentiment (also Stamplorations), used the word window punch and then stamped the little flower from an unknown set.  Added a strip of yellow cardstock behind the sentiment layer.  Layered onto an old piece of SU Vintage Violet and then onto a white base.  Lastly, added some orange Stickles to the flower centers.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I am also entering this for the CASual Fridays Sketch Challenge

Just Us Girls #428 - Color Week

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Angie has chosen a beautiful combination for us to work with.

Check out the JUGS Blog to see how Tenia Nelson, our Guest Designer and the rest of the Design Team have used these colors.

The image is actually an old rub on I found in a drawer!  Colored with watercolor marker in mulberry and turquoise and adding a little kraft to the leaves.  Sentiment stamped with Versafine Sepia.  Added some splatters of mulberry to hide some mistakes.  Kraft polka paper by DCWV.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #427 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen the Trend of Tags, which we are seeing a lot of lately.

We have our super talented Guest Designer - Tenia Nelson with us again this week!  Check out the JUGS Blog to see how Tenia and the rest of the Design Team used Tags.

This is actually a tag card.  Die cut 2 tags, scored one about 1/4 inch below the top edge and used some ScorTape to adhere to the front piece.  Stamped the wide stripes then cut into 2 pieces and alternated the striped pattern and adhered to the front tag.  Stamped some little hearts and the xoxo directly onto the tag.  Added the layered hearts, the swirly piece, the banner cut sentiment and the tag topper.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Celebrate!

This was made for a friend's birthday and was inspired by the photo challenge at TIME OUT Challenges

I was inspired by the stripes and I varied from the color scheme by adding some pink.  I also changed up the heart for a star.  The big star was heat embossed with Stampendous Shabby Pink embossing powder, which has flecks of gold in it.  Stamped the big Celebrate in black and layered it across the star.

Thanks for stopping by!

One Layer You Rock

Playing with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the theme from Cardz 4 Guyz - Music.

Cardz 4 Guyz Logo

Using an old Gina K set - Live Life Loud.  Stamped the rectangular piece with Hero Arts Lime Green Shadow Ink then stamped the drum set and sentiment with Versafine Onyx.  Quick and easy!

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Prayers

It seems that I am needing so many sympathy cards lately and I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for this one.

Started by smearing some orange alcohol ink onto some Tim Holtz Speciality Stamping paper.  Stamped the flowers from unity in black ink and then heat embossed with clear ep.  Framed it with some black cardstock and stamped the sentiment from Gina K.  The clean design of this sketch seemed perfect for a sympathy card.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #426 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen the word Love!  Such perfect timing with Valentine's Day right around the corner.

I would like to welcome our Guest Designer for the month of February - Tenia Nelson!  Let's see how Tenia and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have shared the Love!

I went with a shaker card, which I am getting a little more comfortable with.  I used the Concord & 9th die Love Always Frame Die, backed with acetate, filled with sequins and adhered to a piece of turquoise striped paper from Mel Stampz (freebie).  Scattered a few little hearts and stamped and die cut the larger heart stamped with YOU.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
