Just Us Girls #451 - Photo Week

It's time for our Photo Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Nancy has a gorgeous photo for our inspiration!

I would like to say a huge Thank You to our July Guest Designer Julia Aston for joining us this past month with all of her amazing creations!  Now, come on over to the JUGS blog to see what Julia and the rest of the Design Team have created with this photo as inspiration!

I was inspired by those beautiful flowers, but went with a simpler flower image that I have had and it has hardly seen any ink.  Stamped the flowers with Hero Arts Dark Quartz on ivory then stamped the sentiment with Memento Espresso ink.  Added some Nuvo drops to the flower centers, which are very hard to see in the photo.  Then layered onto a peach base.  Stamps and cardstock all by Gina K.

How does this photo inspire you?  Come share your creation with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Men's Golf Shorts

This week at Cardz 4 Guyz the challenge is Men's Fashion and I went with golf fashion.

Cardz 4 Guyz Logo

I immediately knew what image I was going to use!  This is from Clear Art Stamps and it's called Golf Time.  Colored with Prismacolor markers including the frame around the image.  Used an argyle embossing folder that was inked and then run through my Big Shot on the background piece, embossing and inking at the same time.  Die cut the sentiment from Tim Holtz in Gina K Charcoal Brown.

Thanks for dropping in!

Floral Birthday

Playing along with the Mod Squad Challenge with theme of Floral Birthday

Modsquad Challenge

And another entry to the CAS Watercolour Card Challenge for their Splash Watercoloring challenge

The splash watercolor background was done with Distress inks in Peeled Paint and Shabby Shutters following Loll Thompson's tutorial.  Stamped the striped piece in Memento Elderberry from Gina K's Ribbon Stripes.  I am loving this new hydrangea stamp from Gina K!  Stamped the flowers and watercolored with Distress inks in blues and purples and then greens on the leaves and stems.  Added yellow gel pen to the flower centers.  Stamped the sentiment from another Gina K set in Memento Elderberry.

Thanks for visiting!

Watercolored Die Cut

The July challenge at CAS Mix Up Card Challenge is to Colour your Die-cuts + stamping + your choice

Also, over at CAS Watercolor Card Challenge this month the challenge is Splash Watercolor

Die cut the flower 3 times and glued together then watercolored with Distress Inks.  Watercolored the background panel with blue and green.  Stamped the sentiment and used a word window punch and adhered to the watercolored panel overlapping the edge.  My flowers are a little splotchy from some of the glue getting onto the top, but it gives it a little character and that's what I'm going with!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #449 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen the ever trendy Watercolor Background.

Come on over to the JUGS blog to see the beautiful watercolor backgrounds created by our Guest Designer - Julia Aston and the rest of the Design Team.

A friend asked me to make a sympathy card for someone who just lost their beloved cat and this is the best cat image I could come up with.  I colored the cat to try to match what the cat looked like in life. Distress Inks were used on the background and then the leafy branched were added by using a stencil.  After sponging some green ink through the stencil, I added some brown to the branches and some darker green to the leaves with Prismacolor pencils.  I didn't have a color I liked for a base, so I swiped some Distress Ink around the outside edge of a white base and on a strip for the sentiment and the circle for a better match.

Now it's your turn to create a watercolor background and play along with us at JUGS.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Double D Challenges

CAS Colours & Sketches - Sketch Challenge

One layer card using Kraft.  Stamped the compass image from Kaiser Craft with Hero Arts Pool ink.  Added the rope image from Gina K and colored with a Prismacolor marker.  Stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts with Memento Espresso ink.  After taking the photo, I wish I would have stamped the rope first and masked it before stamping the compass.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #448 - Word Week

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and our very talented Carol has chosen the word Citrus!  You can use actual citrus images or citrus colors.

Since this is a new month, that means we have a new Guest Designer, welcome Julia Aston!  Come on over to the JUGS blog to see how Julia and the rest of the amazing Design Team have interpreted the word Citrus!

This is literally the only image I have that has citrus!  I did some masking of the drink glass and the blender image and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Added some Wink of Stella clear to the citrus, blender contents and the drink glass.  Added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the rim of the glass,  Added the black and white diagonal stripe piece to the lime green graph layer, both are free digis from Mel Stampz.

Now it's your turn to play along with us!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
