Stripes and Dots for Christmas

Playing around with a new die I got from Stamplorations and was inspired by the challenge at Double D Challenges - Stripes and Dots.

GRAB OUR BADGE!

I pulled out a couple of my neglected background stamps and stamped the stripes with Hero Arts Red Royal and the polka dots with Memento Pine Green all on kraft cardstock.  Die cut the fun tree from Stamplorations from a paint chip in a dark green and the sentiment from Tim Holtz in red.

Fun challenge!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hauntingly Delightful

Finishing up my Halloween cards for my grandsons and used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Also adding this to the challenge at CAS on Friday to make a fall or Halloween card.

CAS on Sunday

Using a mix of stamps from Studio G (witch's shoes) and There She Goes (sentiment).  Colored the stockings with Prismacolor markers.  Added the bats, a Martha Stewart punch and added some clear Sakura Glaze gel pen to the bats and shoes.  The buckles on the shoes were colored with a silver Sakura metallic gel pen.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #464 - Photo Week

Vicki is our hostess this week for our Photo Week at Just Us Girls and take a look at this gorgeous photo!  So much inspiration!

I would like to thank Linda Snodgrass for joining us as our Guest Designer for this past month!  For lots of inspiration come on over to the JUGS Blog to see what Linda and the rest of the talented Design Team have created.

And a different angle to show some of this amazing shine.

Foiling again!  Printed the JOY image from Stamp TV under the Freebies section on a laser printer, colored with some Prismacolor markers then placed some silver Thermoweb foil over the image and ran through my laminator.  Copied the flourish background on a laser printer, as well and used Gina K Fancy Foils in Radiant Red and adhered to a gray card base.  Quick and easy!

Show us your creations that are inspired by this Photo and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week!  That would then put you in contention for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Twofer Harvest

Over at the Twofer Card Challenge the theme is harvest.

My two versions of the same stamp set, sympathy and just a happy hello.  I used Gina K's Heartfelt.  Stamped the wheat on ivory, inked direct to the stamped panel with Antique Linen Distress Ink pad.  Layered onto some kraft. Stamped the sentiment onto a very old Cuttlebug ribbon slider die cut and threaded with brown grossgrain ribbon and layered it all onto a lighter kraft card base.  The second card, the wheat was stamped over a stamped frame and embossed with a deep yellow ep.  The sentiment was heat embossed with the same dark yellow ep on a dark brown cardstock strip.  Matted the image panel on dark brown and layered onto some Wild Dandelion Gina K cardstock and layered it all onto a dark brown card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

Just Us Girls #463 - Color Week

It's time for our Color Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen Purple, Blue and Green!

Come visit JUGS to see how these colors inspired Linda Snodgrass, our Guest Designer and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

There are so many different directions you could go with this color combo and the first thing that popped into my head is this hydrangea image from Gina K.  Stamped onto some Yupo paper and used Inktense colored pencils with a water brush in purple and blue making the centers blue and blending out to the purple.  Added some paint splatters, matted on some purple cardstock.  Copied the flourish background on a laser printer onto some blue cardstock and foiled with Gina K Fancy Foils in Wild Lilac.  Finished it off by adhering to a green card base to match the leaves.

How do these colors inspire you?  Come on over and share your creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #462 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Carol has a very cool and trendy challenge for us - Celestial Elements!  Think about stars, galaxies and planets!

Come check out the JUGS blog to see what our Guest Designer Linda Snodgrass  and the rest of the Design Team have created with Celestial Elements.

This started out by creating the moon by using the negative of a die cut circle and sponging white, silver and gold inks to create some depth on the surface of the moon.  Stenciled some stars with more white ink.  Splattered some watered down white acrylic paint and added some white gel pen dots.  Stamped the sentiment on a strip of gray and cut notches in the ends.  Layered onto a Bordering Blue card base.

Now it's your turn to show us your Celestial creations.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #461 - Word Week

It's time for our Word Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen a very challenging word - Sympathy.  We all need sympathy cards at some point, but they can be so difficult.

I would like to welcome our October Guest Designer - Linda Snodgrass!  Come on over to the JUGS blog to see lots of inspiration for creating Sympathy cards from Linda and the rest of the talented Design Team!

I used an old Gina K set - You are not Alone and colored the flowers and leaves with Distress markers directly on the stamp, huffed on the stamp to moisten the ink, then stamped onto some ivory cardstock.  Die cut the floral image with a circle die and layered onto some a die cut olive circle.  Stamped the background of the leaf image from Concord & 9th's Lace Leaf set with Brilliance Lilac ink, then stamped the sentiment from Gina K's Elegant Florals with Memento Espresso Truffle across the floral circle and the background.  Layered that panel onto some more olive cardstock and onto an ivory card base.

Come and share your sympathy cards with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
