Dashing Through the Snow

Making some Christmas cards and playing along with Cardz 4 Guyz as inspiration.

Challenge #208 - Christmas Critters
Cardz 4 Guyz

Die cut the snow banks from white cardstock and sprayed with white shimmer mist and then added clear Stickles to the edges.  Stamped the little reindeer from Clearly Besotted on some light blue and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Stamped the falling snow from Altenew called Snowing with Versamark and heat embossed with white ep.  Added the snow banks after all the stamping and layered onto a Bordering Blue card base.  Stamped the sentiment in red and die cut the banner.  I added the closeup of the snow to show the sparkle and shimmer.

Just Us Girls #468 - Photo Week

It's time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls!  Lisa has chosen a very timely photo for our inspiration.  This will be our last challenge until the new year, so come play along with us!  We are taking the month of December to be able to prepare for the holidays and spend time with our family and friends.

I would like to thank Claire Garland for joining us this past month as our Guest Designer!  Come on over to JUGS to see how Claire and the rest of the amazing Design Team were inspired.

Found this image in my Christmas stash and went with it because of the presents with the bows under the tree.  Colored with Touch Twin markers and added some details with gel pens.

Come share your creation with us and you could be chosen as our next Designer, which would put you in the running at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Twofer Wreaths

I love how the Twofer Card Challenge gets you to think out of the box by using the same image in two different ways!

I wanted to play with my new Gina K Wreath Builder template and this is what I came up with.  I used my new Gina K set Something Good in Every Day.  The card on the left has the leafy branches stamped in Rose Gold ink and added some berries with a gel pen.  The card on the right stamped the leafy branches with Memento Bamboo Leaves and the berry stamp was used with red ink.  The JOY is a die from Concord & 9th cut from foiled Gina K Foil Mates background and foiled with Gina K Radiant Red foil, then inked with Distress ink in Peeled Paint.  The background was printed on a laser printer and was also foiled with the same red foil.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Just Us Girls #467 - Color Week

It's time for our Color Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Vicki has an awesome color combination for us to play with!

Once again, we have our amazing Guest Designer Claire Garland with us!  Come on over to the JUGS blog to see what Claire and the rest of the talented Design Team have created with these colors.

I went with a non-traditional Christmas color combo!  Die cut the tree from turquoise cardstock and added some orange gel pen ornaments/lights.  Die cut the star from yellow and added some clear Wink of Stella for some sparkle.  Stamped the sentiment with Gina K Tangelo Twist.

Now it's your turn to come play along with us!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Shimmering Candles

Playing around with some Twinkling H2Os and am adding this to the CAS Watercolor Card Challenge.

Stamped the image from Stamplorations on watercolor paper and used Twinkling H2Os on the candles and flames.  Used Inktense watercolor pencils for the flowers and leaves.  Fussy cut the image, added the red cracked circle die cut from Tim Holtz's Shattered collection and layered onto a piece of green houndstooth paper.  Added some yellow Souffle gel pen dots to the flower centers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #466 - Trend Week

Ina is our hostess at Just Us Girls for our Trend Week Challenge and she has chosen to challenge us to use bleach on our creations.

Joining us again this week is Claire Garland as our November Guest Designer!  Come check out the JUGS blog to see how Claire and the rest of the Design Team have used bleach on their creations.

Pretty simple card and I love the effect of the bleach on the kraft!  I added bleach to a paper towel on a plate and used that as my ink pad tapping the stamp by Unity onto the bleach and then stamping onto the kraft.  Make sure to clean your stamp immediately after stamping with bleach!

Come on over to JUGS and show us how you used Bleach on your creation and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Candles on Kraft

Joining in over at Mod Squad Challenge where they are challenging us to Color on Kraft!

Modsquad Challenge

I love the look of coloring on kraft!  I started by heat embossing the image from Stamplorations in gold ep on kraft cardstock.  Pulled out my Prismacolor pencils and colored it in, blending with Gamsol.  Die cut the sentiment by Tim Holtz out of mirror gold cardstock and mounted it across the lower portion of the image.  Adhered to a red card base.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it.

Just Us Girls #465 - Word Week

It's my turn to be hostess at Just Us Girls for Word Week and my Word is "Music".  Music is very versatile, you could use it for sympathy, birthday, Christmas or just about any occasion!

I'd like to welcome our November Guest Designer - Claire Garland!  Come on over to the JUGS Challenge Blog to see how Claire and the rest of the amazing Design Team have been inspired by the word Music!

I knew I wanted to use my brand new Gina K music background stamp and I combined it with a couple of older Gina K Sets.  Stamped the musical background in Memento Rich Cocoa on kraft.  Die cut the circle and inked the edge with Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.  Stamped the trees and the deer over the music using Memento Bamboo Leaves and using a brown marker for the trunks of the trees and the deer in Memento Espresso Truffle.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz stamped in Memento Northern Pine ink, die cut and inked around the edges just like the circle.  Added a piece of Gina K Blizzard patterned paper, sponging the edges with Memento Rich Cocoa and layered onto a piece of SU Crumb Cake.

Come share your creations with us at JUGS and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
