Simple Fall

Playing with the fall colors from the challenge at JUGS

and also the challenge at Addicted to CAS
It is also a fit for CAS-ual Fridays challenge

Stamps:  Gina K Lovely Labels and Petite Borders
Ink:  Color Box Parchment, Memento Luxe Love Letter and Tim Holtz Distress Ink Walnut Stain
Cardstock:  Gina K Ivory and Kraft, AC Moore Brown.

Stamped the Lovely Labels on Kraft with Memento Luxe Love Letter and heat embossed with Warm Red ep.   Die cut with a coordinating Spellbinders die, punched out the center and inked the edged with Walnut Stain ink.  Die cut and inked the leaves and layered onto a second die cut label.  Stamped and embossed the border, but it didn't show up very well, so sponged the inks over it and wiped off the embossed area.  Added a strip of washi tape.

Stampendous Fall Fun

I got this Stampendous Jumbo Dahlia stamp a while ago and finally got to ink it up for the challenge at Stampendous Blog - Fall Fun.  I pretended that it was a mum for fall.

Stamped the flower with Memento Espresso Truffle and colored with Inktense Watercolor Pencils on watercolor paper, blending the colors with a water brush.  Tried the Frantage technique for the flower center using Stampendous embossing powders and a light smearing of orange Stickles.  I think I still need some practice!  Cut a frame out of Core'dinations Shattered brown, lightly sanded the edges and popped up over the image panel.  Tied some Baker's twine on the left edge of the frame and mounted on some Gina K Tomato Soup cardstock.

A Simple Sketch

This is for the challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch

I used the faux silk technique on this.  You crumble a piece of tissue paper, straighten it out and use a glue stick to adhere the crumpled piece of tissue to cardstock, maintaining some of the wrinkles for texture.  Stamped the leaf images and the sentiment with Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa.  Lightly sponged some Tim Holtz Distress ink - Antique Linen over the creases and around the edge.  Layered onto some sand and brown cardstock.

I also made a quick card for the challenge at JUGS

And the challenge at Creative Belli Blog - use yellow/orange/red

First embossed the grid with an embossing folder, then smeared Distress Stains in Barn Door, Wild Honey and Mustard Seed.  Misted over the Distress Stains to blend.  Dried with my heat gun and stamped the flowers with Vivid Taupe ink.  Stamped the sentiment with the same ink and cut it out and layered onto the die cut grommet tag.  Inked around the tag, added some Rain Dots Eyelets, dyed some Baker's twine with Color Box Putty Ink and tied.

All stamps used on both cards are by Gina K Designs.

Congratulations

My nephew recently graduated with his Masters in Music and was hired as a music theory professor already!  We are all so proud of him.
I made this card for him using the following challenges:
CAS(E) this Sketch

Kaboodle Doodles - to use yellow

Addicted to CAS

A masculine card with a splash of yellow on the paper pieced pennants.  Embossed some brown Core'dnations with a music folder and lightly sanded it. Stamped the sentiment from an old SU set and the pennant stamp by Studio G with Memento Espresso Truffle onto some Gina K Sandy Beach cardstock.  It is hard to see in the photo, but the yellow dp is polka dotted.  Layered the pieces onto dark brown cardstock and used a kraft card base.

Milestone

I needed a birthday card for a 65 year old and the challenge at Creative Belli Blog to use a number on your card was a perfect fit.

I also dug into my stash of chipboard, so it also qualifies for the Sweet Stamp Shop - Use What You Have Challenge.  I didn't use the sketch or the colors, but still played along.

 .
Here is my stash:

Stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink on yellow cardstock, then cut it out.  Stamped the diagonal stripes with the same ink on the same yellow cardstock and trimmed it.  Stamped the road-like image with WPlus9 white ink on black.  Pulled out some chipboard numbers, but it still needed a little something, so I made the stop light and added Stickles to the lights.
