Cheers to 70 Years

My birthday card for my "Old Man"!

Using the color scheme from Color Hues

And for the Distressing Challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz

Started with some yellow polka dot patterned paper and stamped the big 7-0 in brown ink.  Stamped the bottle from Bottleful by Altenew in Distress Oxide Scattered Straw and brown ink then sponged the edges with Distress Tea Dye.  Stamped the flourish in brown ink and adhered the bottle.  Stenciled the brown stripes down the left side and added to a brown card base.

Do you think he will like it?  Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #651

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen a beautiful photo for our inspiration!

Check out JUGS to see how this photo inspired our fabulous Guest Designer Julie Beech and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

Looking at the sunlight shining on those leaves made me want to add some shine to my card, hence a shaker card with shiny sequins!  Also using up some of my patterned paper stash.   Die cut the frame 3 times in Gina K Honey Mustard and Warm Cocoa and a third from kraft which was heat embossed with Spice ep and staggered them.  Die cut the leaves from watercolor paper which was misted with Lindy's Magicals.  The patterned papers are from the Old World stacks by DCWV that I have had forever.  Added the die cut and heat embossed hello and stamped the autumn which was part of a larger sentiment by masking off the rest of the stamp and die cut with a banner die.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

I'm also adding this to a couple of other challenges.

Just Us Girls #650 - Color Week

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen the perfect color combo for this time of year!

Check out JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Julie Beech and the rest of the Design Team have used these awesome fall colors.

This started off with the Concord & 9th leaf and sentiment which were both heat embossed and the leaf watercolored with Altenew watercolor pens in oranges. Die cut the unknown burlap piece from brown cardstock.  The background was spritzed with brown and green Archival ink sprays for a splattered effect then mounted onto a sage green card base.

Come share your creations with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #649 - Trend Week

It's time for trend week at Just Us Girls and Carol Mayne is our hostess and is challenging us to use Repetition on our creations!
Come check out JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Julie Beech and the rest of the talented Design Team have created with Repetition.

Used the number from Gina K Lots of Dots Alphabet to stamp 20 three times in dark purple ink in the openings of the polka dot panel which was die cut with a Simon Says Stamp die.  Added the die cut + between the 20's.   Added the unknown balloon cluster inking the balloon parts with Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid ink for some shimmer.  On the inside I stamped the big 60 - unknown and the sentiment from Reverse Confetti.
This is for a close friend for her 60th birthday.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #648 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to host the challenge and the word I have chosen is Basket.  There are many types of baskets out there, what type of basket will you use?

And since this is the first challenge on the month, that means a new Guest Designer!  Please welcome Julie Beech!  Come check out the JUGS blog to see how Julie and the rest of the design team have used Baskets in their creations.

Now that school has started, when I think of the word basket it makes me think of basketball and I can't wait for the season to start.  I downloaded a clipart image of a basketball going through the basket and colored it with Prismacolor markers.  Added the die cut letters for the sentiment and a few silver metallic stars.  This is going to be my little grandson's birthday card, all 6'8" of him.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Shine Bright

I am thrilled to be Guest Designing with the amazing team at CAS Mix Up Card Challenge this month!  The challenge this month was something I have never done before and found it to be so much fun to do.  The challenge this month is to use gesso and stencils.

Started by stenciling with gesso through a star stencil onto some white linen cardstock.  Sponged on some Broken China Distress Oxide ink and buffed with a soft cloth which left the stars white.  Stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts in Memento Danube Blue ink.  Die cut the panel and layered onto a white linen card base.

I sent this off to my oldest Grandson who is starting college knowing that he is definitely going to shine bright in his college career!  I also tucked in a little bit of cash to pay for his first pizza.
