Just Us Girls #746 - Stencil Week

It's Anything Goes Stencil Week at Just Us Girls.

I would like to thank Nance for joining us this past month as our Guest Designer and sharing your talent with us.  Check out JUGS to see what our amazing Guest Designer, Nance Salkeld and the rest of our talented Design Team have created with stencils.

Another card for one of my grandsons, this one uses his school colors at Calvin University.  The background was stenciled with Distress Oxide ink on some burgundy cardstock, but it wasn't bright enough, so stenciled again with the same ink and while still wet sprinkled on some buttercup embossing powder and heat embossed it.  Die cut the HOPE from Concord & 9th from some pearl cardstock in a yellow/gold shade.  Stamped the little part of the sentiment onto the same pearl cardstock as the label with Versafine Onyx ink and die cut with a fishtail die.  Stamped the "good" (from a Gina K set) onto a piece of acetate and fussy cut to finish it off.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #745 - Moodboard Week

It's time for our Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen a real beauty to inspire us.

Check out JUGS to see how this inspired our Guest Designer, Nance Salkeld and the rest of our Design Team.

The background was a panel leftover from playing with Distress Inks which I stamped the floral background from Stampin Up (very, very old) with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink letting the colors shine through.  Die cut the floral sprigs from black and added some Sakura black glaze gel pen for some shine.  The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti.  Card base is Stampin Up Apricot appeal.

Come join us with your creations and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #744 - Word Week

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's myturn to hostess this week.  I have chosen the word Hope.

Come hop on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Nance Salkeld and the rest of our talented Design Team have created with the word Hope.

Using a failed technique background.  I tried Gina K's technique that was supposed to give this depth and look like it was embossed, didn't work for me but still wanted to use it.  Stamped the Gingko Greetings image from Unity in brown on kraft cardstock, then shifted slightly and stamped with ivory.  I tried to blend out the ivory without much success, so went to some chalk to try to blend and still not what I was looking for.  Stamped the HOPE with Memento Espresso Truffle ink several times, but couldn't get the coverage I wanted, so took an alcohol ink marker in a dark brown and colored over the letters.  Layered onto a purple layer and adhered to a kraft card base.  As long as you don't look too closely, I guess it isn't too bad.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #743 - Color Week

It's Color Week time at Just Us Girls and our fabulous Bobby has chosen a very versatile color combo for us to play with.

With a start to a new month brings us a new Guest Designer!  Please welcome the very talented Nance Salkeld!  Hop on over to JUGS to see what Nance and the rest of our amazing Design Team have created with these colors.

This is actually a very unconventional sympathy card for my brother-in-law.  My sister recently passed away very unexpectedly and she loved hot air balloons.  Stamped, colored and masked the ballons then die cut a large circle from some masking paper and used the negative to sponge on some blue ink for the sky.  Stamped and die cut the sentiment and done.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
