'Tis the Season

Working on Christmas cards and loved the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches!

I think this may also fit the challenge at TIME OUT Challenges

I'm getting into the mini slimlines.  Used a Spellbinders die for the turquoise strip and stamped the sentiment on ivory, trimmed and layered over the die cut strip.  Die cut an ornament, colored the topper with a copper Sharpie, added the little die cut bow and a snowflake punch covered with Stickles.

Just Us Girls #610 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Elizabeth has chosen a very trendy trend for us!

We have Rachel Davis with us again this week as our November Guest Designer!  Come on over to JUGS to see all of the mini slimline cards by Rachel and the rest of the amazing Design Team!

I have to admit that I was late in joining in on the slimline cards, but I am totally loving them now!  I have been on a baby card kick.  I used Gina K's Oh Baby and an old SU set So Very.  The background is a Tim Holtz stencil and I used a brown fine tip marker to add the thin lines to the plaid.  Stamped the bear, masked and stamped the blocks the fussy cut.  I ended up paper piecing the little bear because he looked too bland.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Simple Sympathy

Working on a sympathy card for a friend and the Perfectly CAS challenge this week was perfect.

Started with a kraft card base and stamped the ginko leaves from Unity in Memento Tuxedo Black, I think this is about 1/3 of the card.  Colored with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol.  Stamped the sentiment from Concord & 9th in Memento Espresso Truffle.  Quick and easy!

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Merry Sketch

Working on Christmas cards and loved the sketch from this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!

Heat embossed several snowflakes in white on a light blue panel.  Die cut the Merry with Concord & 9th alphabet dies, gluing 3 together for some depth.  Lined them up on the lid of my MISTI and used purple tape to keep them lined up and glued onto the snowflake panel.  Stamped part of a Gina K sentiment by masking off the Merry and stamping just the Christmas in Memento Nautical Blue, punched out with a word window punch then trimmed it down a little and adhered over the die cuts.  Layered onto a Gina K Denim Blue card base.

Thanks for dropping by!

First I would like to say Thank You to Nora for joining us this past month as our Guest Designer!     Come on over to JUGS to see all of the beautiful leaves that Nora and the rest of the Design Team have created.

Alcohol inks were used on acetate and then die cut with the leaf dies.  Stamped the grid pattern on the background with a mustard colored ink, stamped the sentiment in Memento Rhubarb Stalk and adhered to an orange card base.

Playing with more acetate.  Using the Concord & 9th Lace Leaf.  Stamped the leaf shadow with Versamark and heat embossed using Stampendous Aged Spice ep on Stampin Up Apricot Appeal cardstock.  Stamped the leaf with Versamark on acetate and heat embossed with gold ep.  Die cut the sentiment and heat embossed with the same Spice ep.  Layered onto some metallic copper and onto a Gina K Honey Mustard card base.

Merry Moose

I love the current color combo at Color Hues of Kraft and Red!

The moose is a Studio G stamp colored with alcohol markers and paper pieced the leg warmers. Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.  Used a Tim Holtz diagonal strip stencil and sponged Distress Oxide Candied Apple ink.  Die cut the snowflakes from kraft and covered with clear glaze, but didn't show up very well, so pulled out some stickles in a brownish shade and added the sparkle.

Thanks for taking a closer look!  I'd love to know what you think of my card.

Just Us Girls #607 - Photo Week

Cecile has chosen an absolutely adorable photo for our Photo Week Challenge at Just Us Girls!

Come check out JUGS to see how this photo inspired our Guest Designer Nora and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

I was obviously inspired by the entire photo!  Started with a gray panel and stenciled the stars in Distress Oxide coral ink.  Die cut the moon, clouds, little white stars and the bow.  Added some Wink of Stella clear to the moon and hanging star.  Had a little oops, so added some Nuvo Drops in white.  Stamped the sentiment in gray ink and die cut with a heart die.  Used a swiss dot embossing folder and white cardstock to layer behind the main panel and adhered to a white card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #605 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be hostess.  I was fascinated with this technique that I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog - Heat Embossed Embossing Folders and it is very addictive once you try it.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our Guest Designer, Nora Noll and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created using this technique.

I needed a wedding card and it was the perfect time to try this technique.  I used a leafy embossing folder, inked with Versamark and embossed on ivory cardstock with White Pearls embossing powder.  Added the die cut heart from sage cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Memento Bamboo Leaves and adhered the strip across the heart.  Framed it with some more sage and onto an ivory card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at at chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

*On a sad note, the wedding had to be canceled and going to be rescheduled at a later date due to the father of the bride contracting COVID and was put on a ventilator 2 weeks prior to the wedding.  He has since passed away. Heartbreaking!

Just Us Girls #604 - Word Week

It's Word Week time at Just Us Girls and Carol has chosen the perfect word for us this month!

A big welcome to our October Guest Designer - Nora Noll!  Hop on over to JUGS to see all of the Halloween creations by Nora and the rest of the talented Design Team.

Started with a white panel and masked a circle using the negative die cut piece, sponged some yellow ink in the circle.  Masked off the moon and sponged Distress Inks in blues and purples over the rest of the panel.  Die cut the trees cover panel in black and adhered to the inked panel.  Stamped the house, colored with black alcohol ink marker and added Sakura Stardust yellow gel pen to the windows.  Fussy cut the house and removed the door.  Added the die cut ghosts and adhered it all to a purple card base.

And another one with masking and sponging.  Used a swirl embossing folder with Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock, sanded it and added some Moonlight purple gel pen to the dots.

Just Us Girls #603 - Photo Week

The fourth Saturday of the month means it's time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen a beautiful photo for our inspiration.

I would like to thank Loll Thompson for joining us this past month as our Guest Designer and sharing all of her fabulous creations with us!  Now come on over to JUGS to see how this photo inspired Loll and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

Lots of masking on this.  Stamped the floral image from Gina K first, then the basket.  Masked the basket and flowers and added a strip of painter's tape and stamped the woodgrain.  Masked the woodgrain and used a stencil on the upper portion and inked with Distress Inks in Antique Linen and Old Paper, then stamped over the stencil with a crackled background stamp in Hero Arts Wet Cement, which is really hard to see in the photo.  Colored the flowers and basket with Touch Twin markers and green Moonlight gel pen on the leaves.  Sponged on some Antique Linen over the woodgrain.  Added the hello from Concord and 9th which was heat embossed with platinum ep on black and then die cut.

Come share your creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #601 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls with our newest member of our team, Elizabeth as hostess and she wants us to shake it up with shaker cards.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Loll Thompson and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created.

Playing around with a technique I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog.  Don't know if my embossing powder was too old or I just didn't use enough of my antistatic bag, but it turned out a little grungy looking and I decided to go with it anyway.  Used a Stamplorations shaker balloon die and filled it with blue glitter and sequins.  Stamped the sentiment from Scrapbook.com.

Come on over and share your shaker creations and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
