Just Us Girls #658

It's time for Trend Week over at Just Us Girls and Lisa K is challenging us to make a matching envelope for your card.

Come over to JUGS to see some great ideas for making a matching envelope for your card, Karren Johnson, our fabulous Guest Designer, along with the rest of our amazing Design Team have created some pretty amazing envelopes.

I recently saw some amazing ideas for using vellum by Jennifer McGuire.  Snowflakes embossed on vellum then die cut the front of the purple card base to make a frame then adhered the vellum to the opening and adhered another purple frame to the backside of the front panel.  Die cut the big snowflake from some Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust glitter paper and die cut the Tim Holtz "merry" from the same purple, but felt it needed a little something, so I covered the sentiment with some Nuvo drops giving it iridescent look.  I used the same snowflake embossing folder on the flap of the envelope and rubbed some Brilliance purple ink over the raised snowflakes.

Come share your creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer, Lynne Jardine and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created in the CAS style.

Using my new die from Scrapbook.com.  Die cut from red and white glitter cardstock and inlaid the glitter letters into the red frame.  The Santa hat is from Tim Holtz Crazy Birds accessories, colored with Prismacolor markers and paper pieced some of the glitter cardstock on the fur pieces.  The card base is cut from linen cardstock.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

It's time for trend week at Just Us Girls and Carol Mayne is our hostess and is challenging us to use Repetition on our creations!
Come check out JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Julie Beech and the rest of the talented Design Team have created with Repetition.

Used the number from Gina K Lots of Dots Alphabet to stamp 20 three times in dark purple ink in the openings of the polka dot panel which was die cut with a Simon Says Stamp die.  Added the die cut + between the 20's.   Added the unknown balloon cluster inking the balloon parts with Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid ink for some shimmer.  On the inside I stamped the big 60 - unknown and the sentiment from Reverse Confetti.
This is for a close friend for her 60th birthday.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #645

It's time for our Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby is our fabulous hostess this week and has chosen the very popular trend of using a stencil!

Check out JUGS to see how our amazing Guest Designer, Cathy Roffey and the rest of the talented Design Team have used stencils on their creations.

Started out with a premade watercolor card panel and stenciled over it with a Simply Graphic stencil.  Die cut the leafy berry branch from green textured cardstock and sponged on some darker green ink.  Added Nuvo Drops to the berries.  Added the sentiment on a die cut tag tied with purple Baker's twine.  Framed with black onto a purple card base.  It seemed a little plain, so added the dotted frame.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

This is also a fit for the Addicted to Stamps and More! challenge to use Die Cuts and/or Stencils.

Just Us Girls #640 - Trend Week

It's time for our fun Trend Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Carol Mc. has chosen a very new to me and fun challenge to create a rocker card.

Check out JUGS to see all of the fun Rocker Cards by our fabulous Guest Designer Fran Wing and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

I did have to Google this for some direction and this is what I came up with.  Die cut the open scalloped circle from yellow cardstock and then a smaller blue circle to layer.  Added a polka dot circle and then inlaid the stars using some white glitter paper (coloring the smaller star with a blue Prismacolor marker) and the larger star is die cut from yellow and yellow Stickles added.  Stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti in Nautical Blue Memento ink and die cut with the coordinating die layering under the largest star.

I had so much fun with this challenge that I had to make another!  The candles are popped up on an Action Wobbler.

Come join us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #636 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Elizabeth has chosen a really fun trend for us this week!

Come check out JUGS to see what Lucie, our June Guest Designer and the rest of the Design Team have created with a moving element.

I started out with a plain white circle and used a really old Gina K Stitches stamp to stamp the stitching on the baseball with red ink.  Stamped the bam type image (not sure what else to call it) and colored in with a dark blue marker on some blue striped paper and the little poufs (?) were colored with white gel pen and then covered with clear Stickles.  The stripes on the background were showing through, so added some Black Diamond Stickles.  Stamped the bat from Gina K's Sporty Accessories, colored and cut it out.  Used a Wobble on the back of the baseball for some movement.

Come join us with your creation and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Come on over to JUGS to see the shaped cards created by our fabulous Guest Designer, Deborah Wheeler and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

I searched through all of my dies and came up with this game controller.  This took a few tries to get the cut just right.  Pieced together all of the buttons and added the sentiment with a label maker.

Just Us Girls #627 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has a very cool challenge for us!

We have the amazing Mac Mable with us again this week as our Guest Designer!  Come on over to JUGS to see what Mac and the rest of the awesome Design Team have created using foil on alcohol inked background.
Started with a blue alcohol ink Yupo background and added some lines of glue following some of the edges in the alcohol ink with a Sakura glue pen.  After the glue dried, tapped the areas with silver foil to create the silver veins.  It was hard to get a good photo of this.  Added some white die cut leafy branches and layered the sentiment strip which was stamped with silver ink.  Layered onto a mini slimline white card base.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #623 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki is challenging us to use Embossing Folders!

Check out JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer, JoAnn Burnham the rest of the amazing Design Team have created using their embossing folders.

Trying out some partial embossing.  Used a Tim Holtz ef on some light blue linen then pulled out some rub on metallic paste and lightly rubbed on some blue and purple with my finger to accentuate the embossing.  The butterfly is covered with black Stickles and fussy cut the vellum for the base layer of the butterfly.  There was a happy accident on the butterfly, colored the vellum with alcohol markers in blue and purple then misted with alcohol and the colors really ran wild, but I like the effect.

Come share your creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #619 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and I am the hostess for this challenge.  I challenge you to make your own stencil from a die or dies.  You can die cut from plastic/transparency sheet or a piece of cardstock to create your own stencil.  I can't wait to see all the different ways you create your own stencil.

Come check out JUGS to see what our super talented Design Team have created by making their own stencils.

I used a leafy die and die cut out of a transparency sheet and stenciled green ink.  Stamped the sentiment over the top of the leaf with Memento Espresso Truffle and die cut with a circle die.  The background is another sprayed piece and added a strip of patterned paper from my stash.  I just had to add one of my newest purchased dies from Simon Says Stamp - Simple Stem.

This one uses a partial brick wall die that I cut out of regular heavy weight cardstock and sponged Antique Linen Distress ink onto some brown cardstock.  Added the color and shading to the delicate die cuts with Touch Twin markers.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Elizabeth has chosen a very trendy trend for us!

We have Rachel Davis with us again this week as our November Guest Designer!  Come on over to JUGS to see all of the mini slimline cards by Rachel and the rest of the amazing Design Team!

I have to admit that I was late in joining in on the slimline cards, but I am totally loving them now!  I have been on a baby card kick.  I used Gina K's Oh Baby and an old SU set So Very.  The background is a Tim Holtz stencil and I used a brown fine tip marker to add the thin lines to the plaid.  Stamped the bear, masked and stamped the blocks the fussy cut.  I ended up paper piecing the little bear because he looked too bland.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #605 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be hostess.  I was fascinated with this technique that I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog - Heat Embossed Embossing Folders and it is very addictive once you try it.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our Guest Designer, Nora Noll and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created using this technique.

I needed a wedding card and it was the perfect time to try this technique.  I used a leafy embossing folder, inked with Versamark and embossed on ivory cardstock with White Pearls embossing powder.  Added the die cut heart from sage cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Memento Bamboo Leaves and adhered the strip across the heart.  Framed it with some more sage and onto an ivory card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at at chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

*On a sad note, the wedding had to be canceled and going to be rescheduled at a later date due to the father of the bride contracting COVID and was put on a ventilator 2 weeks prior to the wedding.  He has since passed away. Heartbreaking!

Just Us Girls #601 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls with our newest member of our team, Elizabeth as hostess and she wants us to shake it up with shaker cards.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Loll Thompson and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created.

Playing around with a technique I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog.  Don't know if my embossing powder was too old or I just didn't use enough of my antistatic bag, but it turned out a little grungy looking and I decided to go with it anyway.  Used a Stamplorations shaker balloon die and filled it with blue glitter and sequins.  Stamped the sentiment from Scrapbook.com.

Come on over and share your shaker creations and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Stamped the turn-a-bout stamp from Concord & 9th with Versamark on black and heat embossed in white.  Used the coordinating die to cut some of the petals.  Added some polka dot paper behind the cut out petals.  Stamped the diagonal striped background with black ink onto a white card base.  Added the die cut and layered love over the floral center, the heart was die cut from some white glitter paper.  I sent this to my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary.

Just Us Girls # 592 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be the hostess.  I have chosen to Recycle, which is always on trend to help reduce waste.  Think about using security envelopes that come in the mail, old book pages, packaging including cardboard and plastic or anything else you can recycle onto a card.

Here with us again this week is Chrissie Stokes, our wonderful Guest Designer for June!  Come on over to JUGS to see what items Chrissie and the rest of the talented Design Team have recycled.

This uses security envelopes which have been sponged with some Distress Ink in Antique Linen.  Also used some lightweight  cardboard packaging and heat embossed the floral piece with  Stampendous Antique Gold and the sentiment in Altenew Antique Gold giving them very different looks.  I couldn't find a card base in a color I liked, so sponged on some Antique Linen and a little Old Paper Distress inks.

An old book page on this one which I sprayed with Tsukineko Eucalyptus Walnut Ink that has been in my stash for a very long time.  Die cut the flower layers and leaves from security envelopes and used various inks and Stickles to color and added a big drop of Nuvo Drops in yellow for the center.  Stamped the sentiment in black.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Carol has chosen a fantastic challenge for us, no stamping!

Check out JUGS to see what our Guest Designer, Fran Wing and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created without using any stamping.

I made this as a thank you for a very generous donation made by a patient to our ambulance service.  Started by printing the Star of Life on a laser printer and then foiled with blue Gina K foil.  Cut it out.  Die cut the heartbeat out of white and layered the white panel over red cardstock.  Adhered the Star of Life over the heartbeat.  Die cut the Thanks and heat embossed with red ep twice and layered over the center.

Another one using the same die cuts and another Star of Life which was colored with Touch Twin marker and gold gel pen.

And one using die cuts and rub ons.

Now it's your turn to play along with us.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Using various patterned papers from a very old paper pack from my stash die cut the different sized banners and the ribbon slider was die cut from white, stamped the sentiment in black and heat embossed with clear then colored the rest of the die cut with a Touch Twin marker to match the red card base.

I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge which was perfect for our JUGS challenge.

Using Core-dinations Kraft Core cardstock run thought my Big Shot with a brick embossing folder.  Sanded the raised bricks to reveal the Kraft core.  Stamped some flourishes with Versafine black ink.  Stamped the sentiment with the same ink and die cut with a fishtail die.  Added some teal colored gel pen to some of the flourishes.  Covered a small heart with Nuvo drops then layered onto a kraft card base.
