Just Us Girls #664

It's time for one of our newly added challenges at Just Us Girls - CAS Card Week!  The talented Carol Mayne is our hostess and wants us to make a CAS birthday card.  Don't forget to leave lots of open space and keep it Clean and Simple!

Come on over to JUGS to see what our awesome Guest Designer, Jules Peddicord and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created for this week's challenge.

The candle loaded cake was a freebie by Art Impressions.  Stamped and colored the cake and candles with Touch Twin markers and gel pens.  Stamped the sentiment in black.  Die cut the panel and ran a black marker around the edge to give it some definition and mounted to a white card base.  Decided it needed a little something more, so die cut the black frame using 2 different sizes of Spellbinders rectangle dies and placing it around the cake panel.

Now it's your turn to share your creation with us at JUGS.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Love You to the Moon and Back

How fun to make galaxy/stars background and over at The Male Room that is what they want to see.  Along with Cardz 4 Guyz to make a birthday card for a child.  The perfect combination because what little boy doesn't like rocket ships and space?

Started by making the background with Distress Inks and splattered with white paint.  I see that some of the paint smeared a little, so they must be shooting stars!  Stamped and colored the rocket with Touch Twin markers and added some Stickles to the window and flames for a little sparkle.  Die cut a circle from pale yellow cardstock and sponged on some white ink for some depth.  When the moon was completely dry, stamped the sentiment.

I hope my grandson will like this card.  What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #663

It's time for Photo/Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls!  The very talented Carol McFarland is our hostess this week and has chosen a fabulous photo/moodboard for our inspiration.

Come check out JUGS to see how this moodboard inspired our Guest Designer, Jules Peddicord and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

I was inspired by the colors and the daisies.  I pulled out this very old Stampendous Retro Border set dated 2006.  Stamped in black ink on kraft.  Used white paint to fill in the petals and Moonlight gel pen on the flower centers.  Touched up some of the black lines that got some white paint on them with a black gel pen.  Stamped the sentiment from Gina K, trimmed down and put it all together on a white card base.

Come share your creation with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #662

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to select the challenge.  Since Valentine's Day is just one month away, I chose the word Heart so we can all get a jump on making cards for our loved ones.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Jules Peddicord and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created with Heart.

I went with a CAS slimline design using the Tim Holtz Heartbeat die set.  Die cut the heartbeat with the heart from red glitter paper and white linen cardstock.  Inlaid the red into the white linen.  Stamped the sentiment from another set in the heart.  Die cut a couple of tiny hearts from yet another set.  Put it together on a mini slimline white linen card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just us Girls # 661 - Color Week

It's the start of a new year with new challenges at Just Us Girls!  This is Color Week with Lisa K. choosing a beautiful color combo for us to play with!

I would like to say Welcome to Jules Peddicord, our Guest Designer for the month of January!  Come on over to JUGS to see what Jules and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created with these colors.

Stamped the gingham (Lawn Fawn) area with Distress Ink in Broken China.  Die cut the butterfly from Concord & 9th from navy and white glitter paper.  Added stickles to the butterfly outline and body and paper pieced the white glitter pieces.  Stamped the sentiment in white on navy and heat embossed.  Matted with navy and swiped Broken China around the edges of a white card base to match the gingham.

Come share your creation with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
