Fall Florals

I've been needing too many sympathy cards lately!  I took my inspiration from the Curtain Call Challenge - Fall Florals and Altenew

Using my first and one of my favorite Altenew sets - Beautiful Day.  Stamping and masking.  I used fall colors in inks from Altenew, Memento and Hero Arts.  The sentiment is from Gina K.  One you make your masks, it all comes together pretty quickly with the help of my MISTI.

Thanks for taking a look!

Another Leaf Sketch

I am loving this new set from Concord & 9th!  Using it, this time for the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches

This was really hard to get a good photo of with all of the metallics.  Used the woodgrain background, also from Concord & 9th stamped with Hero Arts Wet Cement ink on some kraft.  Stamped the splattery base of the leaf with Versamark and heat embossed with gold ep.  Stamped the leaf with Versamark and then heat embossed with some glittery copper ep over the gold ep.  Sponged the edges of the leaf panel with Distress Inks.  Stamped some leaves from Altenew on the Gina K Warm Cocoa base with Versamark and heat embossed with more gold ep.

Thanks for dropping in!

Leaf Sketch

I couldn't wait to ink up this new set from Concord & 9th and the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches seemed to be a perfect fit.

Stamped the watercolor/splatter leaf base with Delicata Golden Glitz then stamped the leaf with Altenew ink in Paper Bag and added a little Memento Rich Cocoa around the edges.  Used an embossing folder from SU and sponged on some Distress Inks for more definition.  Stamped the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with copper ep.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

One Layer Sympathy

Playing along with CAS on Sunday for their One Layer Card Challenge.

For your blog

This was inspired by Theresa Momber's card found here.  First I stamped the pumpkins then masked off the center rectangle and pumpkins and sponged yellow ink with more concentration along the bottom.  Stamped the wheat images with the masks still in place.  Removed the masks and stamped the sentiment.  Colored the pumpkins with Prismacolor pencils.

Just Us Girls #362 - Photo Week

Bobby is our hostess this week for our Photo Week at Just Us Girls and she has us thinking fall with this awesome photo.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Kathy Schweinfurth for joining us this past month as our Guest Designer and sharing all of her gorgeous designs!  Now, hop on over to JUGS to see what Kathy along with the rest of the talented Design Team have created with this photo as inspiration.

I drew my inspiration from the pumpkins and leaves.  Stamps are from Gina K, designed by Theresa Momber.  Stamped the pumpkins first, masked them, then the fence and masked that also and sponged the grass and sky with Mememto Bamboo Leaves and Soft Sky.  Die cut the Sizzix leaves and sponged on some Distress Ink in Rusty Hinge.  Embossed a piece of Core'dinations Kraft Core cardstock, sanded to reveal some of the kraft core then sponged on some Distress Inks with darker shades at the edges.  Sponged a little on the very edges of the image panel and card base.

What inspires you in this beautiful fall photo?  Come play with us and show us your creation and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible to be chosen as our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Bottleful

Sending a bottleful of...LOVE!

Using Bottleful from Altenew and Bokeh Dots from Ellen Hutson.  Stamped the bottles with Memento Taken With Teal and aqua chalk ink, die cut and added more ink around the edges by sponging.  Used a kraft woodgrain cardstock for the base and stamped on the circles and dots with WPlus9 white ink.  Stamped the sentiment on white with the teal ink and cut the strip and popped up over the bottles.
I am entering this into the Ellen Hutson the Classroom Pin Sites Challenge for September which features Altenew and Essentials by Ellen.

This is also a fit at the Time Out Challenge for The Ultimate Challenge Blog Hop

And I am also sending someone a Bottleful of Cheer.

Using the Bottleful from Altenew once again, this time stamped with yellow ink and sponged the edges with Distress Ink in Scattered Straw.  This was inspired by the colors and patterns from the challenge at Altenew this month

Just Us Girls #361 - Color Week

It's time to play with some colors at Just Us Girls !  Nancy has chosen some fun, graphic ones for us to play with.

Our Guest Designer, Kathy Schweinfurth as well as the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created some fantastic cards with these colors.

These colors made me think of big, bold balloons!  This was a very simple card to make.  Used some patterned paper from my stash and just added the big balloons from Avery Elle and little star type shapes.

Show us how these colors inspire you and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #360 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa has us playing with Sequins!  I love sequins, they add a nice finishing touch to cards as well as great fillers for shaker cards.

We have our very talented Guest Designer Kathy Schweinfurth with us again this week as well as the rest of the JUGS Design Team.

This uses the Vintage Roses and Label Love from Altenew as well as the Scribble Circle and striped die cut from Reverse Confetti.  Still trying to find the right combo of colors on these roses.  After stamping and die cutting the leaves I thought they were too dark and not enough definition so I added a little chalk in a lime shade to brighten them up.

What is your favorite way to use sequins?  Come show us your creation and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to be our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Joy

Combining Concord & 9th Joy Stamp Set with Essentials from Ellen Bokeh Dots to play in the

Essentials by Ellen September Mix it Up Challenge with Concord & 9th

Started with some Ellen Hutson white woodgrain cardstock and stamped the Bokeh Dots, also from Ellen Hutson with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.  Stamped the JOY from Concord & 9th with Hero Arts Shadow Ink in red on some Ellen Hutson Linen cardstock and then stamped the thin JOY with Delicata on top of the red.  Stamped a couple pine boughs in the gold and added a couple of pine cones with Versafine Sepia.  Inked the edges of some ivory cardstock with the same gold ink and layered the JOY panel onto that.

F is for Flame

I needed to make a card for my hubby's upcoming birthday and the theme at
Cardz 4 Guyz is Something beginning with F seemed to fit perfectly.

Cardz 4 Guyz Logo

The flame was stamped with various Distress Inks and blended then topped with yellow Stickles.  Stamped the barbed wire with Memento Lady Bug and the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black.  The flame and barbed wire are by Junkitz Extreme Boy and the sentiment is from Little Paper Shop.

Just Us Girls #359 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Ina is our hostess and her word for us this week is Travel!

I would like to welcome our September Guest Designer - Kathy Schweinfurth!  Visit the JUGS blog to see how Kathy and the rest of the Design Team have been inspired by the word Travel.

I took to the skies for this challenge.  The bi-plane from Repeat Impressions was stamped with Versafine Sepia ink as well as the sentiment from a Gina K set onto some ivory cardstock.  Then grabbed some Distress Inks in varying shade of brown and sponged the edges for a more vintage look.  Grabbed some patterned paper from my growing pile of stash and layered it up.

Now it's your turn to show us how you are inspired by the word Travel!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Musical Silhouette

Yet, another masculine card!

I played along with a couple of challenges.

The Male Room - Music

Addicted to CAS - Silhouette

The drum set and sentiment are from Gina K's Live Life Loud.  Stamped the drums onto some striped patterned paper and heat embossed with black ep.  Added some splatters that quickly took a wrong turn, so smeared them and then sponged on some Hero Arts Lime Green ink giving this a more mottled background.  Added a couple of dots of Viva Decor Paper Pen in black on the sentiment tab.
