Just Us Girls #569 - Wild Card

It's a fifth Saturday of the month, which means it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa is challenging us to do some masking!

Thank you to our 2 fabulous Guest Designers, Carol McFarland and Melanie Hungerford for joining us this past month with their amazing creations!  Come check out JUGS to see how Carol, Melanie and the rest of the Design Team have used masking on their creations.

Started by stamping the 2 larger hearts from Gina K's Happy Hearts with Hero Arts Red Royal Shadow Ink, then masked them and stamped the gingham strip from Lawn Fawn in black, used some purple tape to mask the gingham strip and stamped the smaller heart in the same red ink.  The sentiment is from Uniquely Clear Stamps.  In the second photo I had colored in every other square on the larger hearts with a fine tip Sharpie pen and the dots on the little heart with a Sakura Stardust black gel pen.

Come show us your masked creations and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I'm also entering this in the final CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge.  I am going to miss their challenges!

Critter Valentine

Working on Valentine cards for my grandsons and this one was a fit at The Male Room Challenge #146 and CAS on Friday Challenge #197

Using some really old stamps!  Crosshatch background and alligator both from SU.  Colored the alligator with Touch Twin markers and cut him out and added googly eyes.  Stamped the Crosshatch with WPlus9 white ink then stenciled the hearts over that with Distress Oxide ink in Candied Apple.  Stamped the sentiment from Altenew with Hero Arts Red Royal Shadow Ink.

Do you think my grandson will like this?  Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #568 - Photo Week

It's time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Carol has chosen a photo that is full of inspiration!

Hop on over to JUGS to see how this photo inspired our 2 Guest Designers - Carol and Melanie along with the rest of the talented Design Team.

My inspiration was drawn from the glowing lamp post.  I had to improvise and used an ornament stamp for the bulb and part of an ornamental border for the lamp post arm.  The bulb was stamped with Brilliance Yellow and added some Twinkling H2Os to give it a little depth.  Masked the bulb and sponged some Distress Oxide Ink in Fresh Squeezed Lemonade around the edge for the glow.  Blended various Distress Oxide inks, mostly black and purples on a white card panel then splattered some shimmer spray and diluted white acrylic paint.  Heat embossed the sentiment with yellow ep.

Come share your creation with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Tried Jennifer McGuire's layered backgrounds and window design.  Stamped the very old SU Crosshatch background in white.  Die cut the star opening.  Stenciled the stars on the background with Memento Nautical Blue ink then covered with Gina K Glitter Glitz.  Die cut the sentiments and glued to the smaller star and adhered it across the larger star opening.

Come join us with your creation and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #566 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Ina is asking us to use a Stencil!

Come on over to JUGS to see how our Guest Designers, Melanie Hungerford and Carol McFarland  along with the rest of the fabulous Design Team have done using stencils.

I found this watercolor panel in my stash and used a graduated striped stencil and a leafy branch stencil.  Distress Oxide Inks were used to sponge the color through the stencils.  Sentiment from Gina K's Lots of Lines heat embossed with black ep.  Matted on Gina K Charcoal Brown and onto a Gina K Dusty Sage card base.

Since my watercolor panel has splatters with Distress Oxide ink, I'm also adding this to  the CAS Mix Up Card Challenge.

Come play along with us at JUGS and you could be chosen as our Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
