It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and Stephanie has chosen a very timely word - Leaves!

Hop on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Kerry Parkinson and the rest of our amazing Design Team have created with Leaves.

Playing around with some vellum.  Used vellum and a leafy embossing folder then flipped it over and stamped the very old floral background from Stampin Up.  Added a strip of purple vellum die cut with a fishtail die and stamped the sentiment with more very old product - Vintage Violet from Stampin Up.  Matted with black cardstock and adhered to a Vintage Violet card base.

Now it's your turn to share your leafy creations with us, you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week and possibly become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #747 - Color Week

It's time for our Color Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen a fabulous combination for us to play with.

A huge welcome to Kerry Parkinson who will be joining us for the month of October as our Guest Designer!  Check out JUGS to see what Kerry and the rest of our amazing Design Team have created with this combo.

The embossed background was a piece I had laying on my desk with the oval already cut out, so decided to put it to use.  I inked over it with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink, but decided it was too dark, so sponged over that with some white ink, still a little dark, but oh well.  Die cut the branch and colored the leaves with chartreuse colored ink and the stem with the Hickory Smoke.  Added some Nuvo drops in light blue to the berries.  Die cut the sentiment from some light blue and the shadow from some light green vellum.  Put it together on a white linen card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

It's Anything Goes Stencil Week at Just Us Girls.

I would like to thank Nance for joining us this past month as our Guest Designer and sharing your talent with us.  Check out JUGS to see what our amazing Guest Designer, Nance Salkeld and the rest of our talented Design Team have created with stencils.

Another card for one of my grandsons, this one uses his school colors at Calvin University.  The background was stenciled with Distress Oxide ink on some burgundy cardstock, but it wasn't bright enough, so stenciled again with the same ink and while still wet sprinkled on some buttercup embossing powder and heat embossed it.  Die cut the HOPE from Concord & 9th from some pearl cardstock in a yellow/gold shade.  Stamped the little part of the sentiment onto the same pearl cardstock as the label with Versafine Onyx ink and die cut with a fishtail die.  Stamped the "good" (from a Gina K set) onto a piece of acetate and fussy cut to finish it off.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #745 - Moodboard Week

It's time for our Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen a real beauty to inspire us.

Check out JUGS to see how this inspired our Guest Designer, Nance Salkeld and the rest of our Design Team.

The background was a panel leftover from playing with Distress Inks which I stamped the floral background from Stampin Up (very, very old) with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink letting the colors shine through.  Die cut the floral sprigs from black and added some Sakura black glaze gel pen for some shine.  The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti.  Card base is Stampin Up Apricot appeal.

Come join us with your creations and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #744 - Word Week

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's myturn to hostess this week.  I have chosen the word Hope.

Come hop on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Nance Salkeld and the rest of our talented Design Team have created with the word Hope.

Using a failed technique background.  I tried Gina K's technique that was supposed to give this depth and look like it was embossed, didn't work for me but still wanted to use it.  Stamped the Gingko Greetings image from Unity in brown on kraft cardstock, then shifted slightly and stamped with ivory.  I tried to blend out the ivory without much success, so went to some chalk to try to blend and still not what I was looking for.  Stamped the HOPE with Memento Espresso Truffle ink several times, but couldn't get the coverage I wanted, so took an alcohol ink marker in a dark brown and colored over the letters.  Layered onto a purple layer and adhered to a kraft card base.  As long as you don't look too closely, I guess it isn't too bad.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #743 - Color Week

It's Color Week time at Just Us Girls and our fabulous Bobby has chosen a very versatile color combo for us to play with.

With a start to a new month brings us a new Guest Designer!  Please welcome the very talented Nance Salkeld!  Hop on over to JUGS to see what Nance and the rest of our amazing Design Team have created with these colors.

This is actually a very unconventional sympathy card for my brother-in-law.  My sister recently passed away very unexpectedly and she loved hot air balloons.  Stamped, colored and masked the ballons then die cut a large circle from some masking paper and used the negative to sponge on some blue ink for the sky.  Stamped and die cut the sentiment and done.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Once again we have a fifth Thursday this month, which means it's time to CASE a DT Member at Just Us Girls!  You can CASE any of the cards from this week's post.  Who will inspire you?

Come on over to JUGS to see what our talented Design Team have created this week and get inspired to play along with us!

Another whale card!  This one is going to one of my grandsons as some encouragement as he heads off for his freshman year at college.  The background was first embossed with an embossing folder then stenciled with large "bubbles" in blues and small "bubbles" in white.  Die cut the unknown fishnet and loosely adhered to the background leaving room for the sequins to get caught in the net.  Used a stamp storage pouch for the shaker, like seen on Jennifer McGuires blog adding the colored and clear sequins.  Shaded the whale in shades of blue, black gel pen on the eye and Stickles on the water spout.  Stamped the sentiment onto a piece of vellum with Azure Stazon ink and die cut with a fishtail die.  Framed the shaker with an old piece of Bordering Blue SU cardstock and onto a gray card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

This is also a fit for TIME OUT Challenge - Friendship/Encouragement/Support.

A huge THANK YOU to Bonnie Klass for joining us this past month as an amazing Guest Designer!  Hop on over to JUGS to see what Bonnie and the rest of our talented Design Team have created using stencils this week.

I started out with a very old piece of patterned paper from my stash and stenciled over it with a Simply Graphic stencil with Distress Oxide Hickory Smoke ink.  Die cut the flowers also from and leaves also from Simply Graphic from green textured cardstock and again from some yellow pearlized cardstock and inlaid the petals.  Stamped the sentiment with Gina K Slate ink.  Colored the edges of a white panel with a dark gray alcohol ink marker and layered onto an ivory card base.

It's time for our Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen a beautiful, summery collage for our inspiration.

Hop on over to JUGS to see how this fabulous Moodboard inspired our Guest Designer, Bonnie Klass and the rest of our Design Team.

I used an unbranded honeycomb die with some adhesive backed taupe colored cardstock and adhered to a textured dark cream colored piece.  Added the little bees from Concord & 9th Be Mine set, colored with alcohol markers and Stickles added to the wings then die cut with the coordinating dies.  Concord & 9th Double Cut Letters used to add BEE and Tim Holtz happy.  Adhered to a mini slimline white card base.  Then noticed a little ink stain so had to add the little hearts which were in my scrap bowl.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Sending this off to someone very dear to me that is going through some rough medical issues.  Using the Dahlia Turn-a-bout stamp set from Concord & 9th stamped the petals in orange and hot pink inks.  Die cut the sentiment from glitter paper and shadow from black then colored the glitter paper with a pink alcohol marker.  Mounted to an orange card base and ready to pop it in the mail.

It's Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls and we have a fabulous moodboard chosen by Bobby that is full of inspiration.

Check out JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Cat Craig and the rest of our Design Team were inspired by this fun Moodboard.

I was inspired by the striped umbrella and the pineapples.  Stenciled the stripes with some aqua ink and stamped the scalloped border from a Gina K set with orange.  Stamped the pineapple from Concord & 9th Pop Art Pineapples in yellow with orange polka dots and the stem green, then die cut and put them together.  Decided to use a sentiment from the same set and stamped it directly onto the pineapple.  Put it together onto an orange card base.

Come share your creation with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Pack your bathing suits and bring your flip flops, sunglasses and beach ball, it's time for a pool party!
This is a very old set from Scraptrends called Summer Party.  I think it was the first clear stamp set I got and have no idea where I got it from.  Stamped the bathing suits in red ink and colored with alcohol markers.  Using different colored inks, tamped the flip flops, sunglasses and beach ball and colored them the same way.  Punched the sun and added some Wink of Stella yellow shimmer.  Stenciled the background with Hero Arts Tide Pool in on some light blue cardstock for a water effect.  Stamped the Gina K Ribbon Stripes (another very old set) in red.  Put it all together onto a yellow card base.

A Tequila Sunrise is what these colors screamed at me!  Die cut the drink glass twice, cutting from white and a watercolored piece trimming it down to fit in the glass and covered with clear glaze.  Die cut the circles from white glitter paper.  Stamped the sentiment using Lots of Dots alphabet set from Gina K in black on a piece of yellow vellum and heat embossed. The little dot by the sentiment was placed to cover a little smear.  Put it together on a piece of coral cardstock and matted with yellow then onto a white card base making a mini slimline.

First I would like to welcome the very talented Jane Taylor as our Jane Guest Designer!  Now, come check out JUGS to see how Jane and the rest of our amazing Design Team have used these colors.

I was in need of another sweet 16 birthday card and thought these colors were perfect for the occasion. Started by stamping the polka dot background with a very old Cornish Heritage Farms background stamp in Hero Arts Bubble Gum Pink.  Stamped the balloons from Avery Elle with the pink and an aqua ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.  The smaller balloon was stamped with a random polka dot circle and added the sweet 16 in pink.

It's time for our Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls and Carol Mc. has chosen one full of inspiration!

Come check out JUGS to see how this Moodboard inspired our amazing Guest Designer, Jenny Martin and the rest of our talented Design Team.

I was inspired by the bicycle and added my own twist to it.  I have had that reverse cloud stamp in my collection forever and have never used it until now.  I inked with Distress Oxide ink in Speckled Egg (it wasn't quite what I had in mind), then stamped the bike over the bottom edge first masking off the flowers in the basket.  Added some Sakura Moonlight gel pen accents in pink and colored the basket with alcohol markers.

Come show us what inspires you from our Moodboard and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #726 - Word Week

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and Stephanie has chosen the perfect for this time of year.

Hop on over to JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer Jenny Martin and the rest of the fabulous JUGS team have created inspired by the word Garden.

I pulled out a very old Stampin'Up set.  Stamped the potted herbs and colored with alcohol markers.  I wanted to make a border of some sort and ended up with Lawn Fawn's gingham border stamped in Memento Pistachio ink.  I couldn't seem to find a color I liked to mat it, so I ended up coloring the edge of some white cardstock to match the pots.  Put it together onto a very old piece of Stampin'Up Vintage Violet.

Now it's your turn to share your Garden creations with us!  You could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.
