Just Us Girls #525 - Wild Card Week

Believe it or not, there are 5 Saturdays in this February, which means it's time for Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls, which means the hostess can choose anything at all for our challenge!  Nancy is our hostess and she has chosen Inlay Dies as our challenge this week.

This is our last week with our super talented Guest Designer, Betty Jacobson .  A huge thank you for joining us this past month and sharing all of your amazing talent with us!  Now, hop on over to JUGS to see how Betty and the rest of the super Design Team have created using the Inlay Die Technique.

Using up some patterned paper.  Die cut the happy in the center of the navy and white striped paper and then again from some navy and white polka dot paper inserting the polka dot die into the negative on the striped paper and replacing  the striped pieces.  At first I stamped the Birthday Wishes directly onto the striped layer, but it seemed a little lost so stamped it again onto some white with Memento Nautical Blue and die cut and created the fish tail tag.

Come play along with us and you could become out next Chic of the Week!  That would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Birthday Star Shaker

I was trying to come up with a design for my Grandson's 16th birthday that is coming up real soon and ran across the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and went with it!

I really struggle with shaker cards, but yet I keep on trying!  My grandson is a big Notre Dame fan so I went with the blue and gold.  Used some striped paper for the back of the shaker and for bordering the sentiment strip.  Glittered gold paper used for the background and Gina K In the Navy cardstock.  Filled the shaker with various sized sequins in blue and gold.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Twofer Fruit

Joining in at Twofer Card Challenge where the challenge is Fruit!

Using some pear dies from Spellbinders I made an anniversary card for my hubby and used a letter set from Concord & 9th to stamp the sentiment.  The background was one I made a while ago by watercoloring and spritzing with some clear shimmer spray.  Sponged Distress Oxide inks on the pears using Peeled Paint and Fossilized Amber then using regular Distress Walnut Stain on the stems.

Then I made a thank you card again using the pear die, but cutting off the stem and making some antlers and ears from a leaf die and a word window punch.  Stamped a little heart for the nose and drew the eyes and mouth with a black gel pen adding dots of white gel pen to the eyes.  Did some sponging around the edges to give it some depth.  Again, I used the letter set from Concord & 9th for the sentiment.  The patterned paper is very old from my stash.

Here are individuals photos of each of these.

I am also adding the pear card for the color challenge at CAS on Friday.

CAS on Sunday

Thanks for stopping by!  I would love to know what you think about these two cards.

Just Us Girls #524 - Photo Week

It's time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Carol has chosen an underwater, very tropical Photo for our inspiration.

Come on over to JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Betty Jacobson and the rest of the Design Team have been inspired by this Photo.

Started by die cutting the wavy background and inked it direct to paper with Brilliance blue ink.  Sprayed some Seafoam shimmer mist on white and adhered the wavy piece on top.  Stamped the shells from Gina K, colored with Touch Twin markers and cut them out.  Stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts in Memento Rich Cocoa onto some Sandy Beach from Gina K.  Used some more Sandy Beach for the card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #523 - Color Week

It's time for our Color Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Ina has a very elegant color combo for us to play with!

Check out our JUGS blog to see how our Guest Designer, Betty Jacobson and the rest of the talented Design Team has used these colors.

Stamped the big balloons onto black card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with gold ep.  Used a confetti Turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th and stamped with black and Golden Glitz inks.on cream cardstock.  Matted onto some black.  Stamped the "to you" in black on cream, die cut and layered onto another die cut in black.  This was hard to get a good photo of with the gold.

Come play along with us at JUGS and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Angie has chosen the Trend of Stripes!  How doesn't love stripes?

Come check out JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Betty Jacobson and the rest of our amazing Design Team have used stripes.

Stamped the red stripes onto some kraft and die cut the heart.  Die cut a larger heart in red to layer.  Stamped the falling hearts from Concord & 9th in red ink onto a kraft card base.  Stamped the sentiment in red on ivory cardstock and die cut with a banner die and layered onto a larger red banner die cut.
