Just Us Girls #677 - CASE a DT Member

This is a new challenge at Just Us Girls for this year and it will be fun to see everyone's CASEd cards from the Design Team's creations.

Come on over to JUGS to choose which card you are going to CASE.  I want to say THANK YOU to Joanne James for sharing her talent with us this past month!  Check out what Joanne and the rest of the fabulous Design Team have created.

Embossed some white cardstock with a 3-D embossing folder.  Rubbed some teal gilding polish over the raised areas then spritzed with some seafoam shimmer spray.  Die cut the dragonfly from a piece of a leftover experiment of some Lindy's magical powder that seemed to match the gilding polish and layer that onto the light green vellum shadow die cut.  Stamped the sentiment onto some vellum and heat embossed in black.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Sending this off to my grandson who is going to be finishing his freshman year at college.  The tacos and sentiment are by Concord & 9th colored with Touch Twin markers.  Layered onto a panel of Gina K Skeleton Leaves and mounted onto a white card base.  The panel dies are by Avery Elle.

Gilded Birthday

When I saw this technique for dry embossed gilding flakes at Group of Seven Cardmakers I knew I had to give it a try!

This is also a fit for the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz - #320 Embossing Wet or Dry, which I did both.

Followed the tutorial using a double-sided adhesive sheet on white cardstock and pressing Warm Sunrise gilding flake from Cosmic Shimmer onto the panel and rubbing it in with my fingers.  Used a Cuttlebug numbers embossing folder and then rubbed black Archival ink over the raised numbers.  To get rid of the stickiness, sprinkled clear embossing powder on and then hit it with my heat gun.  Stamped the sentiment (which I now wish I would have heat embossed) onto some copper cardstock, die cut with a Spellbinders label and layered onto a black die cut label that had the dots stamped with Golden Glitz ink and onto a strip of copper.
Sentiment is from Birthday Laugh Lines by Art Impressions.

So glad I found this blog and can't wait for more inspiration from those lovely ladies!

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #675 - Photo/Moodboard Week

It's that time for our Photo/Moodboard challenge at Just Us Girls and Nancy has put together a beautiful Moodboard with so much inspiration!

Come check out JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer, Joanne James along with the rest of our amazing Design Team have created with inspiration from this beautiful Moodboard.

I was drawn to the beautiful pink blooms the in wooden barrel pot.  I used Gina K Heartfelt Hydrangea and colored with Touch Twin markers in pinks for the blossoms.  Inked up the swirly frame embossing folder with a light pink (had to see in the photo) and embossed the frame around the bloom.  Added the stamped and die cut sentiment from Pink Fresh.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #674 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Carol Mc has chosen the word Sunshine!  I don't know about you, but I am definitely ready for lots of sunshine!

Come and check out JUGS to see all of the Sunshine created by our amazing Guest Designer Joanne James and the rest of the talented Design Team.

Started off by stenciling the sunshine rays in yellow.  Found this sun from a very old set in my stash, Fun in the Sun from Scraptrends which I stamped in yellow and fussy cut.  Added the sunglasses which are colored with Sakura Stardust and metallic gel pens.  Stamped the sentiment in black from Concord & 9th Dahlia Turn-a-bout set.

Come and share your Sunshine creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit you entries to 3.

Easter Bunny

A couple of Easter cards that went out to grandsons.  Playing along with CAS on Friday Challenge 254 - Dots.  Also fits the Free For All Friday Challenge at Spiltcoaststampers - Easter.

Stamped the dotted label from Gina K and die cut the coordinating Spellbinder's die then die cut a circle out of the center.  Backed with a piece of scrap striped paper and added the fussy cut bunny.  Adhered to some very old SU polka dot dp.

Inked a dotted embossing folder with Distress Oxide ink in Broken China and ran through my Big Shot.  Die cut and paper pieced the bunny (light blue houndstooth) circle backing with more polka dots in yellow.  Added a strip of green gingham paper.  Added blue gel pen to the eyes.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #673

It's time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen a very versatile color combo to inspire us!  Great colors of Terracotta and Green!

Since it's a new month, that means a new Guest Designer!  Please welcome Joanne James!

Check out JUGS to see how Joanne and the rest of the Design Team used these beautiful colors.

I know St. Patrick's Day has come and gone, but I couldn't help myself, I just had to use this fun set from Photo Play one more time!  Stamped the leprechaun, colored and fussy cut omitting the flag he was holding.  Die cut the big (unknown) shamrock and did some ink blending.  Die cut the Tim Holtz lucky and covered with green Nuvo Drops for some shine and dimension.  Put it together on the brick background which is a Tim Holtz embossing folder using some very old, from my stash Core'dinations White Washed cardstock in a terracotta color and sanding off the raised bricks to reveal the terracotta.

Come share you creation with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
