Hop on over to JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer, Milla and the rest of our amazing Design Team have done with embossing.

I started out with a floral embossing folder and embossed a textured piece of purple cardstock.   The I rubbed a white ink pad over the raised areas making the flowers and leaves pop.  Embossed the sentiment on a piece of vellum in silver and used a purple Brilliance ink pad and swiped it across the back side to color the vellum.  Adhered the vellum piece onto the back side of the embossed panel and put it together onto a very old piece of hoarded SU Vintage Violet for the card base.

Using an old Gina K set for my sister who is going through yet another surgery on her leg and has a long road of recovery ahead of her.  Colored the frog and the bamboo stalk he is hanging onto with alcohol markers, fussy cut and layered onto a piece of patterned paper.  Die cut with an oval and layered onto a darker green oval.  Pulling a piece of olive colored, textured cardstock out of my huge bin, used that as a base layer and adhered to a white card base.  Stamped the sentiment in a dark olive ink and die cut with a Tim Holtz die from the tags set.

Now it's your turn to come play along with us! By joining in, you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Hop on over to JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer, Leslie Miller and the rest of our fabulous Design Team have created with Winter in mind.

Playing with my newest acquisition from Art Impressions Penguin Cheer.  Stamped and colored the penguins with alcohol ink markers.  Stenciled the snowflakes on the background with Brilliance blue ink, but my brush must not have been clean because they turned out to be more light purple.  Matted the image with some very old Vintage Violet from SU and made the mini slimline card base from the same Vintage Violet.

Just Us Girls #796 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be hostess.  Our word is Halloween!  This gives you time to get all of your Halloween cards ready and sent out ahead of time.

Hop on over to JUGS to see what our amazing Guest Designer, Greta Hess and the rest of our talented Design Team have created with Halloween.

Started by inking a white panel with Distress Inks in purples, dark blue and black.  Stamped and heat embossed the haunted house and treen (Gina K).  Added yellow gel pen to the windows and white for the little ghost in the doorway.  Die cut the moon from white and inked with a couple shades of yellow.  Adhered the moon then stenciled the flying bats.  Last, added the ghosts and the die cut Boo.  Yes, there is a little oops on the bottom of the card base from some accidental splatter of white paint when I shook the jar.  Homemade cards do not need to be perfect ;)

Come check out JUGS to see what containers were used by our lovely Guest Designer, JayDee and the rest of our amazing Design Team.

My Containers hold beer!  Perfect for toasting for a celebration.  I used Altenew's Bottleful and colored by sponging Distress Inks.  Positioned them to be clinking for the toast and added an unbranded cheers die cut sentiment.  Put it together on a piece of a music score background.  I wasn't able to find a card base in the color I wanted, so inked the edges of a cream colored base with Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber.

Just Us Girls #762 - Word Week

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen the word Friend!

Come on over to JUGS to see what our amazing Guest Designer, Stephanie Severin and the rest of our talented Design Team have created.
I love these ladies from Art Impressions.  Colored with alcohol ink markers and gel pens.  The wine was hard to photograph due to the shimmer from the stardust gel pen I used.  They are celebrating a birthday and toasting to the occasion.  Layered onto a dark purple mat and a piece of very old Gina K digital paper in the purple houndstooth and then onto a purple card base.  Two of my best friends are purple girls and I would be the one in leopard print :)

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

This is also a fit for the Art Impressions Blog: Drink Up Challenge.

Used a Tim Holtz snow embossing folder with some blue glitter paper and sanded off some of the raised areas of the snowflakes.  Used Concord & 9th stamps and dies.  Pretty quick and easy.

Just Us Girls #744 - Word Week

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's myturn to hostess this week.  I have chosen the word Hope.

Come hop on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Nance Salkeld and the rest of our talented Design Team have created with the word Hope.

Using a failed technique background.  I tried Gina K's technique that was supposed to give this depth and look like it was embossed, didn't work for me but still wanted to use it.  Stamped the Gingko Greetings image from Unity in brown on kraft cardstock, then shifted slightly and stamped with ivory.  I tried to blend out the ivory without much success, so went to some chalk to try to blend and still not what I was looking for.  Stamped the HOPE with Memento Espresso Truffle ink several times, but couldn't get the coverage I wanted, so took an alcohol ink marker in a dark brown and colored over the letters.  Layered onto a purple layer and adhered to a kraft card base.  As long as you don't look too closely, I guess it isn't too bad.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
