I combined three challenges:
Stamplorations sketch

The Card Concept - to create a birthday card. I think this would qualify for Freestyle Collage.

The Mod Squad Challenge - ColorfuLEE Yours! color challenge to use reds and browns

I used the Gina K set Live Life Loud.  Stamped the guitar first with bronze ink and heat embossed with copper ep and colored with Touch Twin Markers.  Masked the guitar and stamped the rectangle and the music bars.  Removed the mask and stamped the sentiment.  Added a few little wooden stars that I won (thanks Laurie) to finish it off.

Ink:  Memento Lady Bug, Rich Cocoa and Espresso Truffle, Encore Bronze.

Just Us Girls Challenge - Wild Card!

Fun Wild Card Challenge this week brought to us by Marissa!

I would like to thank Calypso for being a great Guest Designer for JUGS this past month!

This CAS card measures 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 so that it still fits in an A2 envelope!  Card base is Pool from Ellen Hutson (love the white inside).  The chevron piece was made by sponging aqua ink through a stencil.  Die cut the circle from Gina K Tomato Soup cardstock with 2 Spellbinders circle dies and added white gel pen dots.  Die cut the fishtail tag and stamped the sentiment from Gina K with Memento Morroco.  After assembling the card I added 2 Paper Pen dots in orange.

Just Us Girls Challenge - Inspiration

Nancy has a beautiful inspiration photo for us this week!

I LOVE hot air balloons!  The background is all sponged.  The mountain was created by tearing a strip of post it note and sponging along the edge.  I used Memento Rich Cocoa and Espresso Truffle, then added a little bit of WPlus9 white ink with my finger to create a bit of fog around the top of the mountain.  Then stamped the trees from Gina K with Memento Northern Pine ink. The balloons are by Repeat Impression, stamped and colored with Touch Twin markers and then adhered onto the mountain scene.  Layered the scene onto some dark brown cardstock and then to the Gina K Denim Blue card base.

Dancing in the Rain

The background is an old embossing plate with raindrops using Core'dinations White Wash cardstock, sanded and Wink of Stella added to the raindrops to make them stand out.  The stamp set is an old SU set. Added some metallic gel pen to the dots made with a stencil and a clear glaze pen to the little heart pills and heart on the bandaid.

Just Us Girls Color Challenge #232

I love the pretty Spring colors for this weeks color challenge by Cheryl!

Once again we have our wonderful Guest Designer for the month of March - Calypso!

I was inspired by a baby thank you card I received and these colors are perfect for a new baby boy.

The baby animals are from an Amuse set that I have had for years.  Washi tape was used for the bottom strip and more added to white cardstock and trimmed to fit the ribbon slider die.

Stamplorations Sketch

Using the sketch from the STAMPlorations Challenge Blog.

For the borders, I sponged Memento Bamboo Leaves and Olive Grove through a stencil, then stamped the flowers from Gina K in Bamboo Leaves.  Die cut the ribbon slider on white and Gina K Fresh Asparagus and cut out the white sentiment to layer on the green.  Folded a strip of washi tape in half and threaded through the ribbon slider.  So quick and easy!

Happy Tag Flower

Another one for CAS-ual Fridays                 

And Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Tag It         

The flower was made with the oval tags die cut from the Tim Holtz Tiny Tags die.  Added a big brad through the tag holes and added a gray baker's twine bow.  The WPlus9 Happy Trio die was used for the sentiment with Gina K Slate cardstock then added some Wink of Stella for a little shimmer.  The chevron patterned paper is a freebie from Mel Stampz.  Added a couple strips of washi tape.  The card base is Gina K London Fog.

And STAMPlorations March Challenge - Stamps & Spring

Stamped the tulip on vellum with Versamark and heat embossed with white ep.  Adhered it to a Gina K London Fog tag and layered onto a Gina K Slate tag.  Stamped the sentiment and heat embossed with white ep.  Tied on some yellow baker's twine and layered onto a gray and white polka dot piece of cardstock that I added some scattered yellow dots.  Card base is SU Barely Banana.

I went with the Clean and Graphic style using some Tim Holtz and CAS-ual Friday Stamps.  Ink used:  Hero Arts Neon Green and Memento Espresso Truffle.  I inked the edges of the brown cardstock with the Espresso Truffle to match the sentiment and arrows.  Card base is by Gina K - Jellybean.

Just Us Girls Technique Challenge #231

Sharyn has a fun technique for us this week - Weathered Wood Background.  Here is a link for the tutorial.

And once again, please welcome our talented Guest Designer for March - Calypso!

I stamped the tulips from one of my favorite sets by Gina K - A Year of Flowers, colored with Touch Twin Markers and cut them out.  Die cut an oval from DCWV Burlap paper (it is burlap on the front and paper on the back) and sponged Black Soot Distress Ink around the edge and adhered the tulips.  I added more lines than the turtorial and black gel pen "nails".  Stamped the sentiment, also by Gina K with Memento Espresso Truffle ink, added a couple of word window punch pieces and a couple of black Paper Pen pearls.

This is a real mix of dp scraps sitting on my desk.  The top strip is washi tape and the balloon is a new technique I tried called Air Smash that I saw on Splitcoaststampers Try a New Technique forum.  The sentiment stamps and the balloon die are from WPlus9.
