Science Experiment

A masculine birthday card with a science theme!
Playing along with a couple of challenges:

The Male Room

And CAS-ual Fridays

I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, but missed the deadline.  Stamped the chevron/arrows from Rad in Memento Rich Cocoa then stamped the sentiment from the same set with Memento Morocco and Espresso Truffle.  The beaker is from Inkadinkado ws stamped on white, colored with Touch Twin markers and cut out by hand.  Stamped a small flourish on top of the beaker and added some copper gel pen accents as well.

Thank you for taking a closer look!

Golden Sympathy

Another sympathy card.  I don't like having to need so many of these lately.

The tag is die cut  from ivory cardstock then I dragged my Golden Glitz ink pad across it.   Stamped the leaves and sentiment and tied on some raffia and gold cord.  Stamped a script background strip down the side with Memento Soft Sand ink.

Playing along with a few challenges this week

Tagged Vellum Tulips

I used the sketch from CASE(E) this Sketch

the colors from CAS-ual Fridays

and the theme from Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says Tag It!

And STAMPlorations March Challenge - Stamps & Spring

Stamped the tulip on vellum with Versamark and heat embossed with white ep.  Adhered it to a Gina K London Fog tag and layered onto a Gina K Slate tag.  Stamped the sentiment and heat embossed with white ep.  Tied on some yellow baker's twine and layered onto a gray and white polka dot piece of cardstock that I added some scattered yellow dots.  Card base is SU Barely Banana.

Also have one more challenge for The Card Concept

I went with the Clean and Graphic style using some Tim Holtz and CAS-ual Friday Stamps.  Ink used:  Hero Arts Neon Green and Memento Espresso Truffle.  I inked the edges of the brown cardstock with the Espresso Truffle to match the sentiment and arrows.  Card base is by Gina K - Jellybean.

Just Us Girls Challenge #223

Sharyn has a fun technique challenge for us this week at Just Us Girls!

I feel like I need these bright colors as I sit here in the cold and snow.  Stamped the SU flamingo on Neenah Solar white and then onto a couple different scraps of dp from my stash.  Pieced the dp pieces onto the flamingo and balloon. Colored the beak and legs with a Primacolor marker and the hat with Sakura Stardust gel pens in aqua and orange.  I first stamped the "HAPPY" (Pink Paislee) directly onto the image panel, but messed it up, so re-stamped it on another piece of cardstock and trimmed it to fit across the top.   It looked too plain so decided to add some dots with a Sakura Stardust aqua gel pen.  Added a strip of washi tape and tied on some twine.  Stamped "birthday" (CAS-ual Fridays) with Memento Rose Bud and Versamark and added some Stampendous Crystal embossing powder on GK Wild Dandelion.  Die cut the edge of the GK Passionate Pink layer and added Liquid Pearls.

Remember that our Chics of the Week have the chance to be a Guest Designer, so the more you play the more chances you have to be a JUGs Guest Designer!

How to play: Please copy and use our graphic on your post. You need to upload your new project [no back dating please] for this week's challenge to your online blog or to a public photo gallery. Leave a link that goes directly to your project in the Linky Tools form at the bottom of this post. If you upload to online galleries, please use the keyword or tag, JUGS223. After you post to Linky Tools you may also leave a comment on the Just Us Girls challenge post.  We ♥ love hearing what you think of our challenges!

Deadline to be considered for the "Chic of the Week" is 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, January 16th.  The Linky Tools form will close at that time. Our top pick, "Chic of the Week", will be announced on the following Friday morning.

Thanks for playing along!
We can't wait to see what you create for Just Us Girls!
