Sweet One

This card was inspired by one of my favorite Vineyard Vines shirts and was made for the challenge at TIME OUT Challenges

.

Started out by stamping the bold stripes background from Concord & 9th with Memento Nautical Blue ink.  And since my shirt has 2 different sized stripes on it added the smaller stripes also from Concord & 9th with the same ink.  Stamped the little whale from a very old Amuse set, which is also the logo for Vineyard Vines and colored with Touch Twin markers and adding a little Sakura Stardust pen in an aqua color to his blow hole and the water blowing.out.  Die cut with a heart die and layered onto a scalloped heart die in a blue.  Added some gel pen dots on the scallops.  Stamped the sentiment in Versamark on a piece of navy and heat embossed with white ep and cut it out.

How do you like my little whale card?  Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #520 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has chosen a beautiful butterfly photo for our inspiration!

Sadly, this is our last week with our 2 January Guest Designers and I would like to say thank you to Mary Deatherage and Hannilie Bester for joining us this past month and sharing your amazing creations!  Now, hop on over to JUGS to see what Mary and Hannalie along with the rest of the amazing Design Team have created with this Photo as inspiration.

Die Cut the butterfly by Concord & 9th from some old Stampin Up Vintage Violet and sponged some Vintage Violet ink in the center to darker it and some white ink on the outer edges.  Tranced the butterfly onto some white cardstock and cut it out for a sold piece under the die cut.  Added some Nuvo iridescent drops to my kraft sheet and smeared it all over the solid piece and adhered the die cut on top.  I wasn't happy with the results, so added some Stickles in Frosted Lace to the openings.  The background is a new stamp by Brutus Monroe, watercolor background.  Stamped once with Distress Oxide ink in Dusty Concord and spritzed with water.  Smeared some DO in Broken china on the kraft mat, spritzed with water and used a waterbrush to add more color to the background.  Stamped the sentiment with Vintage Violet and cut it out.  Adhered the butterfly with dimensionals and used a Vintage Violet card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Many Hearts

When I saw the current challenge at Mod Squad Challenge, it sounded like a fun one to join in on.  It's a recipe challenge:  stencil, stamping and interactive.

Modsquad Challenge

I used a Stamplorations heart stencil with some red Glitz Glitter Gel from Gina K on kraft.  Stamped the sentiment by Stamplorations with Memento Rhubarb Stalk onto ivory, die cut and layered with 2 sizes of banner dies and adhered with some foam tape..  Die cut the 3 windows on the front and back of the card.   Made the shaker part for the interaction part on the back panel of the card and filled with some small die cut hearts and some sequins..

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Hearts

Playing along with the  Twofer Card Challenge with the prompt of Hearts.   And one of the two cards follows the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!, the Anything Masculine Goes at The Male Room and Clean and Simple at Cardz 4 Guyz.

Cardz 4 Guyz Logo

I used a hearts set from Gina K.  First cut the kraft panel for the baby card and die cut a rectangle out of the center.  Using my MISTI lined up the small polka dot heart so that it would stamp just the top part of the heart to create a scalloped border stamped in Hero Arts Tide Pool ink.  Stamped the sentiment on some ivory and adhered behind the kraft panel and then onto the Turquoise Sea card base.  Stamped a couple of the other hearts, cut them out and added to the card.  The second card a Valentine uses another heart in the same set.  Stamped the heart with red ink, masked it off, stamped the dotted rectangle piece with gray ink, masked that off then stamped the splatters in a slightly darker gray ink.  Removed all the masks and stamped the sentiment in black and added some red gel pen onto the little heart above the i.

What do you think?  Thanks for dropping by!

Just Us Girls #519 - Color Week

It's time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be the hostess!  I have chosen the colors of pink, purple and red.  I had Valentine's Day in mind when I chose these colors, but will work for any occasion.

Come check out JUGS to see how these colors inspired our 2 Guest Designers - Hannalie Bester and Mary Deatherage along with the rest of the talented Design Team.

Stamped the heart from Unity onto some purple striped paper and heat embossed with red ep.  Stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti in Memento  ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Layered onto some very old Stampin Up Vintage Violet and adhered to a light pink card base.  Added some Nuvo drops in a light pearly pink.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Update:  I'm gaining a little bit of use of my left arm, but still have a long way to go.

Cool Watercolor

I have been making thank you cards for everyone that has shown kindness to me after breaking my elbow.  My card was inspired by CAS Watercolour Card Challenge and CAS(E) this Sketch!

Started by stamping the butterfly and heat embossing with black ep on watercolor paper.  Watercolored the butterfly with Twinkling H2Os in purples.  Covered the butterfly with Tim Holtz Distress Micro Glaze.  Spritzed the entire background with water and added some Distress Inks in blue and purple with a waterbrush that had been watered down to add some subtle color.  After it was dry, stamped the script.  Stamped the sentiment onto a light purple scrap and die cut with a banner die.  All stamps are from Gina K.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

Cardz 4 Guyz

Stamped light blue cardstock with Hero Arts Pool ink, die cut the heart and inked the edges with Memento Nautical ink.  Die cut the smaller hearts from light blue and navy cardstock, inking the edges of the light blue one.  Stamped the sentiment on some very pale blue, die cut and layered onto another die cut in navy.  Put it together on a light blue panel and adhered to a very pale blue card base.

Just Us Girls #518 - Trend Challenge

It's time for our Trend Challenge at Just Us Girls and Maria has chosen a spot on trend of Create Dimension!

We have both of our January Guest Designers with us this week.  Please welcome back Mary Deatherage and welcome to Hannelie Bester!   Check out JUGS to see what our 2 Guest Designers and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created with dimension.

Totally made with one arm.  I used a free set from Concord & 9th - Gem Dies.  Die cut from black cardstock, then squirted some Nuvo Dream Drops in Indigo Eclipse on a craft mat and smooshed the solid piece into it which created a swirly, dimensional look.  Adhered the outline piece on top.  Die cut the sentiment and did the inlaid technique.  Added the gem and sentiment to the striped piece with foam tape to pop them up.

Now it's your turn to show us at JUGS how you create dimension!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Snowflake Thanks

We're back at Just Us Girls after a holiday break with our Word Challenge and Angie has chosen the word Snowflakes!

Welcome to one of our Guest Designers for January, Mary Deatherage!  Our second Guest Designer will be joining us next week.

I would also like to welcome our newest Design Team member, the super talented Cecile Ribon!!!!

Come on over to JUGS to see what Mary and the rest of the Team have created with snowflakes.

I went with just one snowflake, just like I only have the use of one arm right now!  I used some pieces I had laying on my desk and with the help of my MISTI to hold everything in place, I got it done!

Come share your Snowflakes creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
