Hang in There

This card was made for my dear aunt who is 96 and lives alone in Florida.  I call her every evening to check on her and so far she is doing great.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

The frog and sentiment are from Gina K and the dotted circle is from Concord and 9th.  Stamped the frog then masked him and stamped the dotted circle with Hero Arts Lemon Yellow ink.  Removed the mask and colored the image with Touch Twin markers.  The sentiment was stamped with Gina K Obsidian ink then adhered to a dark green card base.

I hope this makes her smile!  What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #529 - Photo Week

It's time for Word Week over at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen a beautiful photo for our inspiration!  All of those tulips are a great reminder of the beauty of our earth and that we will conquer this invisible enemy that we are all facing.

I would like to thank Vicky Hayes for being our fabulous Guest Designer this past month!  Now, come check out JUGS to see how Vicky and the rest of the amazing Design Team were inspired by this photo.

I was inspired by all of those beautiful red and yellow tulips!  I used a very old SU 2 step floral set for this.  I stamped the first layer in Memento Dandelion and the second layer in Lady Bug inks.  The red looked a little orangey, so added some Touch Twin marker in Crimson Red for a little more depth.  I chose the Faith sentiment from Gina K due to the circumstances of the COVID-19  to remind me that we all have to keep the faith.

Come show us your creations and tell us how you were inspired by the photo and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Froggy Birthday

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches, TIME OUT Challenges and Cardz 4 Guyz - Challenge #240 Something beginning with F.

Cardz 4 Guyz

Stamped, colored and cut out the frog from All Night Media.  Stamped the sentiment from Rubber Stampede on a scrap of green striped paper from my stash.  Stamped the polka dots from Cornish Heritage Farms on the light green background and put it all together on a green card base.  Yes, these are all very old stamps that I have in my stash.

Thanks for taking a closer look!  I would love to know what you think.

Just Us Girls #528 - Color Week

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has chosen a fresh color combination for us to play with.

Check out JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Vicky Hayes and the rest of the Design Team used this color combo.

Trying a tunnel card technique from Jennifer McGuire which can be found at Splitcoasttstampers.   Used some Concord & 9th stamps and dies.  The yellow tunnel layer looked lost, so I used a light green Wink of Stella pen and colored it around the edges.

Come play along with us and  you could become our next Guest Designer!  That would also give you a chance to become our next Guest Designer!

Also, adding this to the CAS on Friday Birthday Challenge.

It's time for Trend Week over at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen a fantastic trend.

We have our Guest Designer, Vicky Hayes with us again this week.  Check out JUGS to see what Vicky and the rest of the Design Team have created with a black background.

I used a stencil and Deco Foil Transfer Gel for the background.  Shattered Gold foil was used and run through my laminitor.  Added the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with gold ep.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week.  Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #526 - Word Week

It's time for Word Week over at Just Us Girls and once again it is my turn to hostess!  I have chosen the word Heal since that is what I have been doing since December when I broke my elbow!  Heal doesn't have to just me physical healing, it could also be emotional healing.

Since this is the first week in the month, that means a new Guest Designer!  A big welcome to Vicky Hayes!  Come on over to JUGS to see what Vicky and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created with healing in mind.

This is from a very old Stampin Up set that I got at a garage sale!  Stamped the pill bottle with the flowers on white, colored it with Touch Twin markers and cut it out.  Stamped the sentiment onto some kraft and white polka dot patterned paper in Memento Espresso Truffle and colored the little hearts with a pink gel pen.  Layered onto some hot pink cardstock then onto the dark brown and white striped layer then onto a hot pink card base.  Added some Nuvo drops in pink

I hope you will come play along with us at JUGS!

Lucky Shamrock

A St. Patrick's Day card for one of my Irish grandsons.  I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch! for inspiration.

Using up some of my massive stash of patterned paper.  The tag and shamrock were some digis I ran across that I cut out and layered. I darkened the shamrock a little by coloring over it with a green Touch Twin marker.  The little Lucky is printed on the back side of the plaid paper, so I cut  it out and layered onto a word window punch and added a couple of drops of Nuvo Drops in green.

Happy St. Patty's Day!
