Just Us Girls #599 - Photo Week

It's our 599th challenge at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen a fabulous photo for our inspiration for our Photo Week Challenge!

First I would like to thank Claire Apostoloff for joining us this past month as our Guest Designer!  Come on over to JUGS to see what our awesome Guest Designer, Claire and the rest of the Design Team have created with this photo as inspiration.

I love the textured and layered dots on the photo and that was my inspiration for my card.  I used an incentive stamp I received from Gina K.  Stamped the flower trio and added Nuvo drops.  Sponged some Distress Inks and added some white and navy gel pen dots.  Stamped the sentiment on a strip of vellum and heat embossed.

I used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

It's time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and Carol has chosen some beautiful colors for our challenge!

Check out JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer, Claire Apostoloff and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created with these colors.

Playing with some Altenew stamps, Peony Bouquet and the sentiments from Gradient Stripes.  Stamped the flowers in shades of pink and yellow and the leaves in shades of green.  Arranged the flowers and leaves then used some Press N Seal to hold it together and glued it onto the white card base.

Come play along with us, you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I'm also entering this over at the Altenew Blog for their Ultimate Challenge.

Beachy Birthday

My daughter-in-law loves the shore, so I created this card for her birthday inspired by the challenge at The Card Concept.  I was inspired by the beachy colors and theme.  This would fit for mixed media using the glitter, ink, dies and sponging.

Die cut the Avery Elle background Waves die from white.  Die cut it a second time with double sided adhesive on top, removed the thin strips and adhered behind the first die cut.  Removed the strips in layers and sprinkled glitter in gold near the bottom then some green and blue mixing those between the two solid applications.  Burnished the glitter.  Die cut the sand dollar from Reverse Confetti and did the same process adding another shade of gold glitter and sponging some ink around the edge.  Stamped the sentiment in Memento Nautical Blue and punched out with a word window punch.  Adhered to a white card base.

Thanks for dropping by my blog for a closer look!

Just Us Girls #597 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has chosen a very trendy challenge for us!

Come on over to JUGS to see what our Guest Designer, Claire Apostoloff and the rest of the Design Team have created in black and white.

Stamped the turn-a-bout stamp from Concord & 9th with Versamark on black and heat embossed in white.  Used the coordinating die to cut some of the petals.  Added some polka dot paper behind the cut out petals.  Stamped the diagonal striped background with black ink onto a white card base.  Added the die cut and layered love over the floral center, the heart was die cut from some white glitter paper.  I sent this to my daughter and son-in-law for their anniversary.

Join us and share your creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #596 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen the word Harvest.

It's the first Saturday of the month, so that means we have a new Guest Designer.  Welcome Claire Apostoloff!  Check out JUGS to see what Claire and the rest of the Design Team have created with the word Harvest as inspiration.

I went with wheat since that has just been harvested around this area.  I used die cuts from Reverse Confetti and used a fun technique to use up some of the glitter I had on hand and never seem to use.  The base wheat die has double sided adhesive on it and then layered the outline over it and sprinkled glitter on top and rubbed it to adhere.  Layered a couple of branchy wreathes in browns and adding some gold gel pen on the berries.  Gold embossed the sentiment on a dark brown and die cut (also Reverse Confetti).  Used some Core'dinations Kraft Core with a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder, sanded it and then rubbed Distress Inks in browns over the top and the darkest heavier around the edges.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
