Just Us Girls #595 - Wild Card Week

There is a fifth Saturday this month, so that means it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen to challenge us to make Anything but a Card!

Sadly, this is our last challenge with our fabulous Guest Designer, Chrissie Stokes and I want to thank her for joining us this past month and sharing her talent with us!   Come on over and check out JUGS to see what Chrissie and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created.

I had this pattern in my stash for making a little gift purse bag.  Cut it out of some pink paisley paper and added some pink stripes to the flap and layered a couple of scalloped ovals and adding a few white gel pen dots on the darker pink.  Added a scalloped border along the bottom of the purse.  Used a wooden heart and covered it in pink glitter and added a silver pipe cleaner for the handle.  It's the perfect size for holding little trinkets like jewelry or golf ball markers and tees.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #594 - Photo Week

It's time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen a fabulous photo for our inspiration.

Check out JUGS to see how this photo inspired our amazing Guest Designer, Chrissie Stokes and the rest of the talented Design Team.

I LOVE the photo and was inspired by the stripes, colors, anchor and whale.  Stamped the blue striped blocks from Gina K Stamp It Big and the sentiment from Gina K Oh Boy! with Memento Nautical Blue.  I had these cute little whale stickers and had to use the red one like the photo.  Stamped the anchor from another Gina K set colored it and cut it out.  Tied some baker's twine through the hole of the anchor and around a blue die cut fishtail tag.  Put it all together on a piece of red and white striped patterned paper and onto a white card base.

Come share your creation inspired by the photo and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #593 - Color Week

It's time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and Angie has chosen a fabulous color combination for us to inspire us!

Check out JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Chrissie Stokes and the rest of the Design Team have created using this color pallet.

Stamped the Gina K label with Memento Teal ink and then again with Versamark on light gray striped dp and heat embossed.  Die cut with the coordinating Spellbinders die.  Colored the flowers with yellow gel pen and stamped the sentiment in teal.  Stamped the Crosshatch background with Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade ink.  Die cut the butterfly and heat embossed with silver and fussy cut a vellum piece and colored with Touch Twin markers.

Playing around with my Dahlia Turnabout stamp in the challenge colors.  I didn't like the one shade of gray and tried stamping over it in teal and did not get the effect I was looking for so I used the coordinating die and die cut the ugly petals out of the flower.  Added double sided tape to the back and adhered to a piece of teal cardstock and added some clear glitter over the die cut petals.  Added to a panel of gray stripes and onto a teal card base.  Sentiment stamped in teal and punched out with a word window punch.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls # 592 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be the hostess.  I have chosen to Recycle, which is always on trend to help reduce waste.  Think about using security envelopes that come in the mail, old book pages, packaging including cardboard and plastic or anything else you can recycle onto a card.

Here with us again this week is Chrissie Stokes, our wonderful Guest Designer for June!  Come on over to JUGS to see what items Chrissie and the rest of the talented Design Team have recycled.

This uses security envelopes which have been sponged with some Distress Ink in Antique Linen.  Also used some lightweight  cardboard packaging and heat embossed the floral piece with  Stampendous Antique Gold and the sentiment in Altenew Antique Gold giving them very different looks.  I couldn't find a card base in a color I liked, so sponged on some Antique Linen and a little Old Paper Distress inks.

An old book page on this one which I sprayed with Tsukineko Eucalyptus Walnut Ink that has been in my stash for a very long time.  Die cut the flower layers and leaves from security envelopes and used various inks and Stickles to color and added a big drop of Nuvo Drops in yellow for the center.  Stamped the sentiment in black.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #591 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby is our lovely hostess and has chosen the word Script!

Since this is the first challenge of the month, I would like to welcome our newest Guest Designer - Chrissie Stokes!  Come check out JUGS to see how Chrissie and the rest of the talented Design Team have created with Script.

With all of the sparkle and shine on this it was hard to get a good photo.  Heat embossed the script background in silver on black.  Die cut the frame from shimmery silver and layered over the background.  Die cut the heart 3 times, the first layer with a double sided adhesive sheet and peeled off the pieces and added silver glitter, peeled off the rest of the adhesive and added another heart.  On the third heart I added some Nuvo Drops in black for some shine and then adhered on top.  Die cut the happy and it's shadow adding more Nuvo Drops in black.  Heat embossed Anniversary in black on silver and used a word window punch and layered under the happy.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
