Just Us Girls #656 - Wild Card Week

This is the fifth Saturday of the month, so that means it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Carol Mc has chosen to challenge us to make some Holiday Gift Cards!

Since this is the last week of the month, we sadly have to say goodby to our fabulous Guest Designer, Lynne Jardine.  Thank you Lynne for joining us this past month with all of your amazing creations!
Now, come on over to JUGS to see all of the Holiday Gift Cards created by Lynne and the rest of the talented Design Team.

Using up bits and pieces laying around on my desk.  A leftover piece of a blue sprayed piece paired up with a piece of leftover snowflake border by Tim Holtz, some small pieces of patterned paper and some more snowflakes that were already die cut paired up with the gnome from a Gina K set and added the Tim Holtz Santa hat and the last one is a toner sheet from Gina K foiled with red and green then added some strips of the striped scraps trying to line them up around the greeting.  All were tied with some Baker's twine that I seem to have a lot of.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

CASEing our very own Vicki Dutcher!  I recently saw this adorable card on her blog and knew I had to CASE it!

I used the same gnome and changed up the patterned papers.  Instead of an embossed strip, I die cut the stripes down the middle of the panel.  I also smeared some white Liquid Pearls on his beard and added some hands.

Share you CASEd design with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

We have a 5th Saturday this month, so that means it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls where the hostess can choose anything at all for our challenge!  Lisa K. has chosen to challenge us with making a tri-fold card!

Sadly, this is our last week with Mac Mable as our Guest Designer and I would like to say THANK YOU for taking the time to join us this past month with all of your amazing creations!  Come check out JUGS to see what Mac Mable and the rest of the Design Team have created with a tri-fold.

This was definitely a challenge for me!  I had a really hard time wrapping my head around this one and had many failed attempts.  Used an unknown circle/candle die, lined up the other circles over the first two panels.  Framed the first 2 circles with blue and green frames.  Added the die cut happy which I covered with some clear gloss on the front and stamped the remaining sentiments on the next 2 panels.

Come share your tri-fold creations with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I had this pattern in my stash for making a little gift purse bag.  Cut it out of some pink paisley paper and added some pink stripes to the flap and layered a couple of scalloped ovals and adding a few white gel pen dots on the darker pink.  Added a scalloped border along the bottom of the purse.  Used a wooden heart and covered it in pink glitter and added a silver pipe cleaner for the handle.  It's the perfect size for holding little trinkets like jewelry or golf ball markers and tees.

Thank you to our 2 fabulous Guest Designers, Carol McFarland and Melanie Hungerford for joining us this past month with their amazing creations!  Come check out JUGS to see how Carol, Melanie and the rest of the Design Team have used masking on their creations.

Started by stamping the 2 larger hearts from Gina K's Happy Hearts with Hero Arts Red Royal Shadow Ink, then masked them and stamped the gingham strip from Lawn Fawn in black, used some purple tape to mask the gingham strip and stamped the smaller heart in the same red ink.  The sentiment is from Uniquely Clear Stamps.  In the second photo I had colored in every other square on the larger hearts with a fine tip Sharpie pen and the dots on the little heart with a Sakura Stardust black gel pen.

Just Us Girls #538 - Wild Card Week

It's my week to be hostess at Just Us Girls for Wild Card Week and I have chosen to challenge you to use 2 or more patterned papers on your projects.  I have lots of patterned papers that I hardly ever use and this is a chance to bring them out and let them play.

Sadly, this is our final week with our fabulous May Guest Designer, Deborah Frings.  Come on over to JUGS to see how Deborah and the rest of the amazing Design Team have used some patterned papers on their creations.

I used Gina K's Inspiration Mosaic, Happy Hearts and Lots of Lines.   I stamped the Inspiration Mosaic on four different patterns from a very old pack from The Garment District Lilly Pads Sunday Brunch Arctic Frog.  Left the polka dot piece intact and cut up the other patterns and paper pieced onto the polka dots.  Stamped the sentiment in Gina K Amalgam black ink.  Stamped the heart with Memento Moroccan and fussy cut and layered onto a scalloped heart die cut in Gina K Tomato Soup.  Card base is also Tomato Soup.

Come play along with us at JUGS and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #525 - Wild Card Week

Believe it or not, there are 5 Saturdays in this February, which means it's time for Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls, which means the hostess can choose anything at all for our challenge!  Nancy is our hostess and she has chosen Inlay Dies as our challenge this week.

This is our last week with our super talented Guest Designer, Betty Jacobson .  A huge thank you for joining us this past month and sharing all of your amazing talent with us!  Now, hop on over to JUGS to see how Betty and the rest of the super Design Team have created using the Inlay Die Technique.

Using up some patterned paper.  Die cut the happy in the center of the navy and white striped paper and then again from some navy and white polka dot paper inserting the polka dot die into the negative on the striped paper and replacing  the striped pieces.  At first I stamped the Birthday Wishes directly onto the striped layer, but it seemed a little lost so stamped it again onto some white with Memento Nautical Blue and die cut and created the fish tail tag.

Come play along with us and you could become out next Chic of the Week!  That would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

A huge THANK YOU to Kristin Sluhan for being our Guest Designer this past month!  Visit JUGS to see what Kristin and the rest of the talented Design Team have created for this Anything Goes Challenge.

This was made for my grandson who is going to be 14.  He is already 6'5" and loves to play basketball.  I combined many sets including the basketball from Gina K, sentiment from CASual Fridays, jagged frame with stars from Fiskars, wood background from Concord & 9th and flames from Clear Stampz.  The flames were stamped with yellow, orange and red inks, then blended with Touch Twin markers then added some red glimmer paste from Gina K.  Colored the jagged frame in with a darker brown to give the effect of the basketball breaking through.  Added some yellow Wink of Stella to the stars.  The basketball was stamped first, masked and then the flames, added some painters tape to cover part of the flames and stamped the jagged frame.  The background is ivory stamped with Hero Arts Soft Sand ink.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Espresso Truffle and adhered to a Gina K Warm Cocoa card base.

Let you imagination run wild and join us for our Wild Card Week at JUGS!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #503 - Wild Card Week

This month we have 5 Saturdays, which means it's time for our Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls!  It's my turn to choose the challenge and I am challenging you to splash something on your creation!  You can splash anything liquid such as ink, paint, water, coffee, tea, etc. or stamp a splash image.

I would like to thank Tristan Dawes for joining us this past month with all of her fabulous designs!  Come check out JUGS to see how Tristan and the rest of the Design Team have interpreted this challenge.

The first card has Distress Oxide ink in Twisted Citron plashed onto it over the Broken China.  Stamped the script layer in gray then Stamped the leaves and sentiment from Gina K.
The second card was an ongoing process!  Started out by sponging various inks on the background, then splashed coffee on top of the inks.  After it dried it still needed something, so splashed more coffee and continued this process until I had enough.  After it was completely dried, I used the Concord & 9th Lace Leaf set and dies, stamped the  background of the leaf image in Versamark then added gold ep.  Stamped the leaf on vellum and heat embossed with copper ep.  Stamped the sentiment from the same set in Memento Espresso Truffle.

What are you going to splash on your creation?  Come share it with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #481 - Wild Card Week

This month has a fifth week, so it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls!  I'm the hostess for this challenge and I want everyone to dig out their embossing folders!  I have so many embossing folders and hardly ever use them, so it's time to show them some love.

Since this is the last week of the month, it's our last week with our Guest Designer Greta Hess! Thank you Greta for joining us this past month with all of your fabulous creations!  Check out the JUGS Blog to see how Greta and the rest of the Design Team have used embossing folders on their creations.

I used a Tim Holtz brick ef with Core'dinations White Wash cardstock, sanding the bricks after embossing to reveal the kraft core.  Stamped some leaves across the top and added some Altenew poppies and the Reverse Confetti sentiment banner.

The minister's wife at our church has asked everyone to decorate one cross for use on the bulletin board and here is one of the 6 I have done. This was embossed with a lattice folder and sponged with Golden Glitz ink.  Added the sentiment from Gina K and the leaf die cuts.

Now it's your turn to share your embossing folder creations with us.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

We have 5 Saturday's this month, so that means that this week at Just Us Girls is Wild Card Week!  That means that the hostess can choose anything she wants for our challenge and Angie has chosen Stripes.

I just got this flower set from Stamplorations and couldn't wait to use it.  Stamped the flowers on some pale yellow cardstock then added some depth by coloring with Prismacolor markers.  Hand cut the flowers and added some die cut leaves.  Stamped the sentiment from Gina K on a yellow polka dot strip of patterned paper.  Arranged the flowers and leaves how I wanted them,  placed a piece of Press N Seal on top of the arrangement, flipped it over and added glue then placed it onto the card.  This was a tip from Jennifer McGuire and it works like a charm!  The black and white striped background was printed from Mel Stampz.

Come on over to JUGS and show us your stripes!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I had this background laying on my desk from when we played with alcohol inks and decided to put it to use.  Stamped the flourish from Technique Tuesdays with Archival Ink in Paradise Teal and the flowers from Unity and leafy branches from Gina K in black Archival Ink.  The sentiment was heat embossed with gold ep also from Gina K.  I couldn't find a base in the color I wanted, so I used a Touch Twin marker to color around the edges of a Gina K heavy weight white base to match.  No bleed through with the Gina K heavy weight white!

The background was made by smearing Oxide inks on my kraft mat, spritzing and then laying a piece of tissue paper in the ink.  Let that dry, then crinkled it up into a ball, opened it back up and adhered to a piece of white cardstock. Lightly rubbed some Versamark over the raised creases and then embossed with gold ep.  Here is a You Tube video by Loll Thompson on this Tissue Paper Watercolor technique.  Stamped the hello from Concord & 9th with versamark on some purple cardstock and embossed with gold ep, then added some clear Wink of Stella.  Layered onto a piece of mirrored gold and a purple card base.
