12 Tags of Christmas Day 6

Day 6 at Ellen Hutson's The Classroom is featuring the super talented Julia Stainton!  She creates some of the most beautiful things.  Here is her gorgeous tag for inspiration

Shabby-santa-tag

Here is my use what is at hand version

I didn't have any vintage Santas so went on a search and found this one from some tags from Nina Brackett that I saw the link on FaceBook.  Die cut the frame from some Grundge Board and first  embossed it with some vintage gold ep, but didn't like the look so I added some Distress Stickles in Antique Linen.  Still didn't care for it so dumped on some gold glitter and decided to stop there.  I didn't have any pretty roses, but still have a bunch of these Prima flowers.  Punched out some branches.  I remembered that I had some little charms and found the pearl in them.

Thanks for taking the time to visit!

Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge #218

Maria has come up with a great sketch for us to try at Just Us Girls!
We would like to give a warm welcome to our December Guest Designer  Jan Del Bone!

I varied from the sketch just slightly.  Used some digi dp from Mel Stampz, she has lots of free papers.  Used some washi tape on the bottom.  The snowman and sentiment are from Gina K and the large snowflake is from Stampendous.  The fur on the snowman's hat is chunky embossing powder glued on and not heat embossed.

Just a reminder that Just Us Girls is starting up the Guest Designer position once again!!  Winning  Chic of the Week puts you in the running for the GD spot.  At the end of the month, after we have all of our Chic's of the weeks for that month, the JUGS girls will decide who the Guest Designer will be for the following month!

How to play: Please copy and use our graphic on your post. You need to upload your new project [no back dating please] for this week's challenge to your online blog or to a public photo gallery. Leave a link that goes directly to your project in the Linky Tools form at the bottom of this post. If you upload to online galleries, please use the keyword or tag, JUGS218. After you post to Linky Tools you may also leave a comment here.

Deadline to be considered for the "Chic of the Week" is 9:00 PM EST on Thursday, Dec. 12th.  The Linky Tools form will close at that time. Our top pick, "Chic of the Week", will be announced on the following Friday morning.

Thanks for playing with us this week!   We can't wait to see what you create!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 5

If you haven't checked out The 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at Ellen Hutson's The Classroom you should definitely check them out.  Some really beautiful creations over there!
Today's tag is by Kelly Alvarez!

Die cut a tag from some diagonal striped cardstock, added ScorTape to the edges and added glitter.  Cut a rectangle of light blue dp, stamped the trees by Studio G and colored them with colored pencils and gel pens.  The balls on the trees are Souffle pen dots.  Freehand cut some "hills"  from some Glitter Silk by Core'dinations and lightly sponged on some light blue ink to define the hills better.  Made the little snowlady from 2 punched circles, also Glittersilk and half a circle for her hat and added a little punched circle for a pompom.  The eyes, mouth and carrot nose were colored with glaze gel pens. Tied some pink baker's twine for a scarf.  Glued a small Glitter Silk star over the circle and punched a little hole. Tied on some plain old twine to finish off.

Thanks for taking a look!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 4

The fun and amazing inspiration continues over at Ellen Hutson's - The Classroom.  Day 4 brings us the amazing and talented Kittie Caracciolo!   She makes the most gorgeous scenes.

Tag front

My tag is a dumbed down version, but tried to stick with the theme and feel of Kittie's tag.

Yes, that deer is back again!  I don't have very many dies like these, so I just use what I have on hand.  Stamped and embossed the trees from Gina K with white ep and used a white souffle gel pen for the falling snow.  I did have a wavy crimper which I used on some shimmery white cardstock and cut 2 layers freehand into small rolling hills.  The little branch/bushes are a Martha Stewart punch.  Added some Distress Stickles in Rock Candy on the punched bushes and the edges of the hills.  The Tim Holtz deer was die cut from some darker blue cardstock and sponged around the edges with Distress ink in Faded Jeans.  Topped it off with a white satin ribbon.

Thanks for visiting!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 3

Another beautiful tag over at The Classroom, this one by Ronda Palazzari!

Ronda Palazzari Joyeux Noel Tag

I tried to stay with her design with what I had to work with.  It's really hard to see the music score background, I must have gone a little too heavy with the paints and stains.  I first tried to use Distress Stains since I had the colors that Ronda used, but that didn't work out very well,  Then I used the Distress Paints over my mess in 3 different colors and when dry, stamped the music over the paint.  Everything looked a little too bold, so out came the Picket Fence Distress Stain to tone it all down.  Stamped some gold snowflakes and a copper flourish.  I converted a fern die into a tree cut from patterned paper and sponged with Distress ink in Bungled Sage.  Stamped a script stamp on ivory cardstock and die cut the deer, then sponged with Distress inks in Antique Linen and Vintage Photo.  Stamped the sentiment and heat embossed with silver ep.  Tied on a gold ribbon to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting.

12 Tags of Christmas Day 2

The fun continues over at The Classroom with a tag from Julie Ebersole

City_tag_xma_2013_WEB

I didn't have any cityscape dies so I went with wood veneer trees.

I used Ivory instead of white cardstock.  Covered the trees with Tim Holtz Distress Stickles in Vintage Photo. Added two strips of ScorTape and sprinkled on the glitter.  Stamped the little snowflakes with Colorbox Bronze ink.  Stamped the sentiment onto vellum with Memento Luxe Rich Cocoa ink and finished it off by tying some cream floss.

Thanks for visiting!

12 Tags of Christmas Day 1

Over at Ellen Hutson's The Classroom they have started the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.  I just love the inspiration they provide.
Day 1 is Jennifer McGuire's very creative tag:

Final-1
And this is what I came up with:

I don't have any embossing paste and no small wreath stamp, so I stamped the holly leaves and berries on Gina K Heavy Weight White cs, colored with Touch Twin markers and cut them out to give them the depth. I added washi tape instead of cardstock layers and the stitching is also washi tape trimmed down.
