Quilted Baby Animals

Playing in a couple of challenges:  Eureka Stamps Challenge - Animal Catwalk and Tombow Blog monthly challenge of tic-tac-toe.

 

For the tic-tac-toe I used Tombow Foam Tabs, Mono Multi glue and Power Tabs.  The baby animals stamp is by Eureka and colored with Touch Twin Markers, cut out, then embossed with an embossing folder for texture.  Adhered onto die cut ovals with Foam Tabs.  Punched heart and glitter on elephant's toenails and little heart on giraffe adhered with Mono Multi.  Added a couple of strips of washi tape across the base layer.  Adhered the animals on the layered ovals to the background layer with Power Tabs.

Dragonfly

I love the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013

 and this is my attempt at the April tag.

 

Distress Stains were used for the background, misting them to blend the colors.  Strips of Tim's paper tape and Stampedous Frantage embossing and glitter to lower area and a little on the upper corner.  Stamped script along the edge, stamped the dragonfly and attached the acetate wings then heating them to shape.  Distressed the crinkly ribbon and added some sequins.  Then it needed a little something more, so added the flourishes found in my stash.

Stamps by Gina K - Lighthearted Wishes.  Colored with Touch Twin markers and Stickles added on the yellow part of the bulb.  Pink gel pen dots added around the white mat and strips of washi tape.

Ombre and Glitter

I have never made an ombre card, so when I saw the challenge at JUGS I just had to give it a try.

And the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is to use glitter.

 

The dot embossed background was sponged with Memento Angel Pink and Rose Bud, using a lighter touch at the top.  Traced a chipboard number 5 on Core'dnations GlitterSilk and cut it out.  Die cut the cake with a Sizzix die, colored with Touch Twin markers and added Stickles to the frosting and flames on the candles.  Found this girly ribbon in one of my ribbon jars.  Added a girly touch with the pink feather and layered onto a pink card base.

 

Had so much fun making this that I had to make another one in purple.

 

Used some Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Dusty Concord to die the ruffled ribbon purple.  Feathers are fun!

Stamped the Repeat Impressions hot air balloon.  Colored with Touch Twin markers and cut out.  Die cut the aqua cs with Spellbinders Large Labels and made the clouds by pressing my finger into Wplus9 white ink and smooshing onto the aqua piece. Matted with some navy cs and added faux brads with an orange Souffle gel pen.  Popped up the balloon.  Added a strip of washi tape on the terra cotta card base.

Retro Sketches Birthday

A fun sketch at Retro Sketches

Stamped and embossed in red ep the Lovely Labels 2 by Gina K.  Die cut with Spellbinders.  Stamped the margarita, colored with Touch Twin markers, added Stickles and clear gel pen.  Used some freebie digi paper from my stash and added some lime green washi tape.  Sticker letters for the sentiment.  Starting to use some stickers that I found in my craft room along with some rub ons, which I had forgotten all about.

Earthy Thank You

I used the theme of Thank You from the challenge at CAS on Sunday and the colors from The Play Date Café 

 

 

I ran across a bunch of rub ons that I have been hoarding and decided to start using some.  The flower, sentiment and the border are all SU rub ons.  Cardstock used:  Gina K Soft Sand and Slate.

Such a quick and easy way to make a card.

Under the Weather

A combination of 3 challenges:  CAS(E) this Sketch

And Drunken Stampers theme Singing in the Rain

Stamped the umbrella from Gina K's Sung from the Heart, colored with Prismacolor markers and cut it out.  Die cut the cloud and sponged Memento Gray Flannel ink.  Added a strip of yellow polka dot washi tape on white cardstock and adhered to the gray striped dp.  Used my Dymo label maker for the sentiment and added a couple of sequins for raindrops.

Puzzle Piece Resist

Fun technique challange at JUGS this week.

 

 

My first attempt.  SU Crosshatch background heat embossed with clear ep.   Die cut the Spellbinders pears.  Sponged Memento Cantalope on the background and Memento New Sprout and Bamboo Leaves on the pears.  Sentiment stamped with Snap Stamps in Bamboo Leaves, cut out and layered onto some washi tape.

 

Next, I tried a more intricate die, a leafy branch by Sizzix.

 

 

This was a little tougher with all of the thin pieces.  Stamped the SU Weatherd with Versamark and heat embossed with clear ep.  Sponged Colorbox Putty ink on the background and Bamboo Leaves on the leaves.  Dug into the collection of rub ons and found this sentiment.  Distressd the edges of the green cs and layered onto a kraft base.
