With Deepest Sympathy

I needed a sympathy card today, so I drew from the inspiration of a couple of challenges.

The Mod Squad Challenge is "What Wood you Create"

The Card Concept is to use texture

I also used the sketch from My Favorite Things Weekly Stamp ClubMFTWSC160

The sentiment didn't quite fit the die, so I stamped it on ivory and trimmed it close, then attached it to the die cut.  Stamped the banner with a Canvas stamp with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Used the same Distress Ink to sponge around the circle and the banner.  Used a strip of burlap paper by DCWV, it's actually burlap on the top and backed by paper.  Added some little wooden pine trees.  Cardstock used:  Core'dinations Shattered, Gina K Warm Cocoa, Mustard and Kraft.
I guess this would be considered Freestyle Collage style for The Card Concept Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

This is a gorgeous sympathy card design. So sorry you had need of it though, but at least this should be a comfort to the family of the loved one.

The hardest card to make...but you made one which will be such a comfort at a very sad time. I love the burlap and those wooden trees...you really nailed the "texture" theme of the challenge!

Oh, I think Sympathy cards can be difficult to make, especially at the time you need them. This really looks nice, and it caught my eye in the gallery. Good job!
