Barbara Campbell is with us again this week as our Guest Designer for May with her wonderful design.
First I stamped the flowers and leaves with Antique Linen Distress Ink. Brushed water over the images and then dabbed on some diluted orchid ink. For the leaves I used Distress Inks and added some yellow Wink of Stella to the flower centers. Used a border punch on some kraft cardstock and added some Pearl Pen pearls in white. The splatters are a stencil from STAMPlorations ( I still haven't gotten the hang of splattering). Tied on some light purple and white baker's twine and adhered to a Orchid Opulence card base. I know I need a lot more practice at this watercolor technique!
After I got my first card done, I wasn't too sure about it, so I made another one. I used the Tri Square die from Simon Says Stamp on the kraft cardstock then ran it through my Big Shot in a striped embossing folder. Stamped the flowers, by STAMPlorations in Brilliance ink and added some Pearl Pen white dots to the flower centers and some light purple Pearl Pen dots. Stamped the sentiment over a stamped patterned strip, also by STAMPlorations. Tied on the baker's twine and added another dot of Pearl Pen in a deeper orchid color to the center of the bow.

Couple of great cards! That water coloring technique I still have to try -- your's looks fabulous!
Love the first card - gorgeous water colouring and flowers! Love the purple squares against the kraft on the second.
Both cards are lovely! The watercolor card is so pretty. I'm really going to have to try that technique. Great job!
Both of your cards are so pretty! Love the watercolored flowers! I really like the second one too! Great job with the colors!
Nice take on the challenge for both of your cards, but I have to say that the watercolor is my favorite. I love to do watercolor, and your flowers with the muted look are fantastic. Just like a painting!
Love them both Sue. In fact yesterday I made a card so very similar to your second one with square openings...great minds..lol! I also think your splattering looks great! Have a great day!
