Just Us Girls #803 - Anything Goes Stencil Week

It's Anything Goes Stencil Week at Just Us Girls and I am the hostess this week.  This is our last challenge of this year.  We will be on break until January 1st to let us all prepare and enjoy the Christmas season!

A huge thank you to Leslie Miller for joining us this past month!  Hop on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Leslie Miller and the rest of our amazing Design Team have created with stencils this week.
More penguins from Art Impressions!  I just love these festive little guys.  Colored with alcohol ink markers with the lights and star colored with Stardust gel pens for some shimmer.  Added some clear glaze to the ornament.  Did an out of the box technique with the image so that the ornament hangs over the edge.  The candy cane striped background is from Tim Holtz.  Stamped and die cut the sentiment and matted with some dark gray and put it together on another mini slimline card base.

Come play along with us at JUGS and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Flurries Forecasted

Over at Art Impression Blog there is a new challenge, Flurries Forecasted Challenge #417 and is perfect for playing with my newly acquired Penguin Cheer set from Art Impressions!

Started by inking a snowflake embossing folder with blue ink and running through my Big Shot.  Stamped the igloo, little penguin and string of lights, then fussy cutting them.  Colored with alcohol ink markers and Starlight gel pens on the lights and star.  Added some white shimmer gel pen to the trees.  Die cut an oval from vellum and frame from some very old blue cardstock.  Arranged the igloo on the vellum and added the little penguin over the edge.  Decided I needed some sparkly snow so added a piece of white glitter cardstock.  After it was all together, needed to add a sentiment.  Stamped the sentiment with Azure Blue Stazon on vellum, but didn't like the way it looked, so stamped over it with Versamark and heat embossed with some royal blue ep.  Die cut with a circle die and slid it under the igloo and frame.

This is such a fun set to play with!  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

Just Us Girls #802 - Mood Board Week

It's time for Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls and our lovely hostess this week is Carol Mc with this beautiful image loaded with inspiration.

Hop on over to JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Leslie Miller and the rest of our Design Team were inspired.

I was inspired by the colors, star and rustic look.  Stenciled the background with Distress Ink on white and then inked Antique Linen over the whole panel.  Die cut the star from some paper backed burlap and the sentiment from red.  Added some die cut pine boughs (hard to see against that background) and matted on the same red as the sentiment.  Put it all together on a kraft card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Playing with my newest acquisition from Art Impressions Penguin Cheer.  Stamped and colored the penguins with alcohol ink markers.  Stenciled the snowflakes on the background with Brilliance blue ink, but my brush must not have been clean because they turned out to be more light purple.  Matted the image with some very old Vintage Violet from SU and made the mini slimline card base from the same Vintage Violet.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Winner of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Hop on over to JUGS to see what our talented Design Team have created this week and choose one to CASE.
I have one last Halloween card to share.

Die cut the trees from kraft with a coverplate then swiped some brown Distress Ink directly to the trunks.  The background was black and sponged with Distress Oxide inks in shades of purple.  Inked a yellow circle die cut with Distress Scattered Straw to give it some dimension.  Stamped the boo banner from an old Gina K set in black on some vellum that I colored with a purple alcohol marker.  Lastly popped in the ghosts that were cut from some shimmer paper.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Altered Witchy Golfer

Once again, playing along with Art Impressions Challenge, this time the theme is Along Came a Spider.

I decided I needed one more Halloween card for a friend.  I stamped the lady golfer and fussy cut eliminating the golf club, her visor and part of her hair and her legs.  Used Tim Holtz witch hat and broom to replace the visor and club.  Had some random witch's legs that I fussy cut and replaced the golfer's legs with.  Colored her outfit with Halloween colors or purple and black.  I had a spider punch for the added theme of a spider and added it to the tip of her hat.  Die cut a yellow circle for a look of a moon behind her and onto an embossed background done with an old piece of Core'dinations black magic cardstock and sanded to reveal the color core.

Thanks for dropping by for a closer look!

It's Mood Board Week at Just Us Girls with Carol Mayne as our lovely hostess!  Carol has chosen an image that is so full of inspiration.

Now hop on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Greta Hess and the rest of our amazing Design team have created.

I was inspired by the colors, pumpkins and leaves.  The pumpkins were made out of die cut ovals and inking with orange inks.  Recognize those leaves?  Yes they were die cut from the leftover magicals piece from a couple weeks ago.  The sentiment is from Concord & 9th.  Die cut the gold frame and added to the kraft card base.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #796 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be hostess.  Our word is Halloween!  This gives you time to get all of your Halloween cards ready and sent out ahead of time.

Hop on over to JUGS to see what our amazing Guest Designer, Greta Hess and the rest of our talented Design Team have created with Halloween.

Started by inking a white panel with Distress Inks in purples, dark blue and black.  Stamped and heat embossed the haunted house and treen (Gina K).  Added yellow gel pen to the windows and white for the little ghost in the doorway.  Die cut the moon from white and inked with a couple shades of yellow.  Adhered the moon then stenciled the flying bats.  Last, added the ghosts and the die cut Boo.  Yes, there is a little oops on the bottom of the card base from some accidental splatter of white paint when I shook the jar.  Homemade cards do not need to be perfect ;)

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Old Birthday Boy

Playing along with Art Impressions Challenge #413 - In the Navy using this dapper gentleman.

This is for my Old Man!  Using AI Birthday Laugh Lines stamped the birthday boy and colored with alcohol ink markers and paper pieced his shirt and added some clear shimmer pen to the balloon.  Outlined his glasses with a black gel pen.  Matted on some navy cardstock.  Inked the birthday embossing folder with some navy ink and embossed onto a lighter blue panel and used the same blue for the card base.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set cutting out the You're not old, for the front and added the rest of the sentiment to the inside.

Thanks for dropping by for a closer look!

This is for my grandson's 16th birthday.  Using some old Gina K sets.  Stamped and heat embossed the car with black, then colored in the flames, lights windows adding some shimmer pen over the coloring.  Fussy cut the car.  Stenciled the street with white ink on black.  Sponged on ink for the sky kind of randomly then die cut the sun and used the negative to stencil in the sun, which I now wished I had stenciled before inking the blue.  Added some yellow shimmer pen to try to brighten the sun a little more.  Stamped the sentiment and separated the words and added to a blue die cut banner and topped it with the red die cut 16.

Come check out JUGS to see what containers were used by our lovely Guest Designer, JayDee and the rest of our amazing Design Team.

My Containers hold beer!  Perfect for toasting for a celebration.  I used Altenew's Bottleful and colored by sponging Distress Inks.  Positioned them to be clinking for the toast and added an unbranded cheers die cut sentiment.  Put it together on a piece of a music score background.  I wasn't able to find a card base in the color I wanted, so inked the edges of a cream colored base with Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber.

King of the Club

Playing along with Art Impressions Sports & Leisure Challenge #410.  Golfing is both Sports & Leisure as far as I'm concerned, even though it can be quite frustrating at times.

AI Golden Oldies are such fun images and I love this old golfer taking a swing!  Colored him with alcohol ink markers then die cut with an oval die, trimming around the end of the club for an out of the box look.  Layered onto another green die cut oval.  Stenciled the background with Distress Oxide in in Lucky Clover.  Stamped the sentiment also from AI, but a different set with a green ink.

What do you think of this dapper golfer?  Want to play a round of golf with him?
