Just Us Girls #780 - Moodboard Week

It's time for our Moodboard Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has chosen a beautiful scene for our inspiration.

Hop on over to JUGS to see how this inspired our Guest Designer, Joanne James and the rest of our amazing Design Team.

I was drawn to the poppies and the blue of the sky and water.  Inked a striped embossing folder with blue ink and ran it through my Big Shot.  I've had these poppies for a long time and now am finally using them from Concord & 9th.  Stamped the poppies in Memento Morrocco and DI Aged Mahagony, die cut with the matching dies and added black glaze pen in dots to the centers.  Die cut some stems from another set in green.  Die cut the unknown tag and stamped the sentiment with more Morrocco.  Die cut a little bow from another unknown set and colored with alcohol ink pen.  Put it all together on a white linen card base.

Come play along with us and you could be our next Winner of the Week, which would make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

The background was created using a swirly stencil and Distress Oxide inks in blues and a greenish color.  Layered the inks sponging through the stencil, then moving the stencil and inking with another color, etc.  I think it has a watery look to it.  Had a piece that had been sprayed with blue and green shimmer spray which I used for the background in the shaker window.  Added some clear and colored (purple, green mix) and added the little whale.

This is for my son-in-law's birthday.  Die cut 3 beer bottles from Concord & 9th's Bottleful.  Colored by sponging on Distress inks.  After the ink dried, stenciled the dark brown stripes on the bottles and added some gold for the bottle caps. Stamped the dotted strip on the kraft base in white, but it wasn't showing up very well, so went over all the dots with white gel pen.  Lined the bottles up on the card base.   Die cut the sentiment and colored with a copper marker and layered onto a vellum shadow die cut.

I was obviously inspired by the confetti.  I used a Concord & 9th Turn-a-bout stamp in yellow, orange, blue and green.  Cut down the panel for a mini slimline size.  Stamped the cupcake and sentiment, also from Concord & 9th.  Fussy cut the cupcake and then added some glitter nail polish for sparkle.  Couldn't find a card base color that I liked, so added more of the nail polish to the edges of a white base.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our amazing Guest Designer, Stephanie Severin and the rest of our talented Design Team have created.
I love these ladies from Art Impressions.  Colored with alcohol ink markers and gel pens.  The wine was hard to photograph due to the shimmer from the stardust gel pen I used.  They are celebrating a birthday and toasting to the occasion.  Layered onto a dark purple mat and a piece of very old Gina K digital paper in the purple houndstooth and then onto a purple card base.  Two of my best friends are purple girls and I would be the one in leopard print :)

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #760 - CASE a DT

This is our fifth week of the month, so our challenge at Just Us Girls is to CASE a DT member with Carol Mc as our hostess.  Who will you be inspired by to CASE this week?

Hop on over to JUGS to see what our amazing Design Team have created this week, then chose a card to CASE.

I went pretty simple with this one that I created for my sweet Aunt who has always been a great inspiration to me.  The background uses Distress Oxide inks in light blues and greens by smooshing on my craft mat, misting with water and placing the watercolor panel into it for a soft background.   Used an unknown leafy branch die and colored with a brown marker and sponged a couple shades of green on the leaves.  Added some red Nuvo drops for the berries and stamped the sentiment across the bottom of the panel.  Matted onto a dark brown piece and put it together on a kraft base.

Chose a card from this week's post and come share it with us at JUGS.  You could be chosen as our next Winner of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
