Nautical Blue

The challenge at JUGS this week is to create something using Monochromatic Blues

 

 

The ship image is from an old SU set.  Stamped the ship in Memento Nautical Blue onto Gina K Little Boy Blue then colored the ship and sails with Inktense Watercolor Pencils and sponged TH Distress Ink Weathered Wood around the edges.  Layered onto some Gina K In The Navy cardstock, added a strip of washi tape and some knotted navy/white baker's twine.  Then layered onto some blue Core'dinations that I distressed the edges.  The background is some more Core'dinations, this one is Shattered which was embossed with a Sizzix folder.  Card base is the same Little Boy Blue that the image is on.

And the Music/Arts Challenge #184 at Kaboodle Doodles

 

 

First, stamped the guitar with orange pigment ink and embossed with clear ep.  Masked the guitar and stamped the floral flourish with green pigment ink and also embossed with clear ep.  Masked both the flower and guitar then stamped the background frame with aqua chalk ink.  The sentiment was stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy.  Layered onto dark green cardstock.  Added a strip of washi tape to the aqua card base.   Stamps:  Gina K Live Life Loud.

Anniversary

 

I used the sketch from JUGS to make this anniversary card.

 

I had received this cute Precious Moments image years ago through Wish RAK at Splitcoaststampers.

Colored the image with Inktense Water Color Pencils and water brush.  Stamped the little Love sentiment with Memento Nautical Blue ink, punched it out and layered on a red circle punch and onto a blue Tim Holtz Tiny Tags and Tabs circle tag.  Added the fun little arrow that I have been dying to use.  Added 3 little red heart gems.  Cardstock used:  Coredinatons card base, Gina K Denim Blue, Neenah Solar White and AC Moore Cherry Red.  Dp is My Minds Eye.

Paper Pieced Ducks

The challenge at Lawnscaping this week is paper piecing

 I also dug through my stash and pulled out some neglected eyelets for the Use What You Have Challenge #10 at The Sweet Stamp Shop

The ducks were stamped first of the chevron dp then onto various dp, cut out and pieced over the chevron stamped ducks.  Colored their bills and wings with Touch Twin Markers.  Used my CropODile to punch the holes an set the eyelets.  Stamped the sentiment with Memento Teal Zeal onto yellow grid dp.  Stamps used:  Gina K Oh Baby!.  Chevron and grid dp by Mel Stampz.  Cardstock used:  Gina K Pure Luxury White, Blue Raspberry and Wild Dandelion.

Mixed Media Masculine Birthday

It's been quite a while since I have posted, but this summer has been very busy.
I used the challenge at Just Us Girls to use mixed media on your card.

 

This is also for the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge to use any embossed work

 



I dug through my stash and found all of these goodies.

The background is adhesive backed foil embossed then painted with black acrylic paint and sanded.  Added some Magic Mesh and a couple of die cut gears that were painted with Tim Holtz crackle paint.  Stamped the sentiment on some paper thin cork and layered it onto a Gina K Denim die cut banner.  Added 3 eyelets and tied some twine through them.  Layered the foil background onto some black cardstock and then onto a Gina K Denim card base.

Wedding Love

The challenge is Wedding at Eureka Stamps Challenge and I needed a wedding card, perfect timing.

 

I used the couple's wedding invitation as inspiration.  Stamped the Technique Tuesday flourishes with Memento Nautical Blue onto some textured mint green cardstock and layered all he pieces with Gina K In The Navy cardstock.  Sentiment by Gina K.  The heart was punched out of their invitation.  Pretty quick and easy.

Graduation 2013



Needed a graduation card for my niece and used 2 challenges for inspiration in the making of it.
Used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!
And the theme "Congratulations" from CAS-ual Fridays

 

 

And it also is a fit for the challenge at Sweet Stamp Shop 

 



 

 

 



This was really hard to get a decent photo of due to the gold foil 2013 stickers, which have been in my stash for many years and had not been used.  Painted a wooden star with yellow acrylic paint then stamped the fireworks image with Memento Nautical Blue, then went over it with a blue metallic gel pen for a little more shine.  Added strips of washi tape to white cardstock and die cut with a pennant die.  Cardstock used:  Gina K Wild Dandelion and Denim, Neenah Solar White.
