Just Us Girls Wild Card Week

January has a 5th week, so it is Wild Card Time and Nancy is challenging us at Just Us Girls to use a sentiment as the focal point on our cards.  This is a challenge for me because many times I make cards without a sentiment on the front.

Check out how our Guest Designer Judy Woodland and the rest our talented JUGS Design Team have focused on sentiments.

First stamped the hexagon border from Gina K's I Do with Memento Luxe Nautical Blue then the word "love" from Gina K's Lots of Letters in Memento Luxe Love Letter and covered with clear Glaze pen.  Stenciled on the little hearts.  Stamped the U from an old SU set and die cut the pierced banner.  Added faux stitching with a red gel pen and added the hearts to hide some smudges.

Let us see what you can do with your sentiments.  Your could be our next Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running for our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

This also fits in with the TIME OUT Challenge of Valentine's with the optional twist of hearts.

Frog in a Pocket

Definitely a boy thing!  Die cut the pocket from Gina K Denim Blue cardstock and added the faux stitches with a yellow gel pen.  Stamped and colored the frog then cut him out and placed his fingers over the edge of the pocket and popped him up.  Layered onto a gray striped piece of patterned paper.  Stamped and die cut the banner and popped it up over the pocket.  Card base is Gina K Denim Blue.

This is for the following challenges:

A Girl and Her Shoes

This is for the sketch challenge at STAMPlorations playing with my new stamps.

I flipped the sketch for this super simple card.  Stamped the sentiment and shoe from A Girl and Her Shoes with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and Black inks and die cut the banner.  Added the jar ribbon from Eclectic Florals and a bling dot to the shoe.  The card base is a pre-made one from American Crafts.

Thanks for visiting!

Distress Ink Background

Playing with my new stencil from STAMPlorations and some Distress Inks.

Distress inks were swiped across my craft mat and misted with water, then placed my cardstock in the wet inks and swirled around.  After that had dried I taped off the stencil and sponged in some Memento Olive Grove ink.  The sentiment from STAMPlorations Chevron and Arrows was also stamped in Memento Olive Grove using my new MISTI.

I am entering this into the STAMPlorations challenges:  Sketch Challenge #26, January Challenge Stamps and Ink and Anything Goes.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Blue Valentine

Playing in a few challenges:

TIME OUT Challenges - Valentines with the optional twist of hearts

The Male Room - Challenge # 2/15 Shades of Blue

Freshly Made Sketches

Using an older Gina K set - Heartily Yours.  The stenciled hearts were hard to photograph, but are sponged with Brilliance blue ink and added some small die cut hearts, too.  Stamped the lava lamp with Memento Nautical Blue then used a blue Wink of Stella marker to color the lava, cut it out and popped it up over the sentiment banner.  Added a strip of blue diagonal striped washi tape and a couple of light blue enamel dots.

Thanks for dropping in!

Just Us Girls Photo Week

Chris has a very yummy photo for inspiration at Just Us Girls this week.  This photo is so perfect to help me finish up my Valentine cards.

Check out what our Guest Designer Judy Woodland and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have been inspired by this photo to create.

I used an old, yet beloved set Lots of Hearts by Gina K.  Stamped the hearts and cut them out and layered onto some Gina K Dark Chocolate cardstock.  Stamped the border with Memento Espresso Truffle, Gina K, Pretty Patterns and stamped the little hearts into the circles.  Stamped the sentiment and die cut the banner and decided it needed a little something, so added a couple little hearts.

Let's see how this photo inspires you.  If you play along with us, you could be chosen as our Chic of the Week and a chance at being our Guest Designer for the month of March.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Soccer Star

Following the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for my grandson's birthday card.

A shaker card filled with sequins and tiny wooden stars.  Papers are from Mel Stampz, polka dots and tiny stars.  I used fun foam with the star die cut just like the top layer, a tip from Jennifer McGuire,  love her blog.  I used dimensional dots under the center of the sentiment to give it support in the center and line up with the white star.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
