Monochromatic Petals

It seems like I have needed more sympathy cards lately than ever before!  I tied in a couple of challenges on this one.

The flowers and leaves from Altenew's Beautiful Day were masked to create this one layer card.  I used shades of gray and added some white ink to the larger flower and used a Picket Fence Distress marker on the smaller ones.  The sentiment is from Gina K and Stamped with Versafine Onyx.

I used the sketch from this week's CAS Colours & Sketches

And the theme from CAS on Sunday - Sparkle

The bottle is from a Halloween set from Inkadinkado, the "bubbles" are from Bokeh Dots from Ellen Hutson and I don't know who the sentiment is by.  The bottle was stamped then the liquid was colored with a green Wink of Stella pen.  Stamped the dots with Hero Arts Lime Green ink and added some clear Wink of Stella and some lime Stickles.

Just Us Girls #345 - Photo Week

I was inspired by the textured wallpaper and the colors.  I inked an embossing folder with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade and then embossed with my Big Shot on white cardstock.  Stamped the little peonies and leaves from WPlus9 and layered onto the striped die cut from Reverse Confetti.  Added the sentiment.

Birthday Dude

CAS-ual Fridays is celebrating their birthday and the challenge is "Birthday Boy"

I combined the CAS-ual Fridays challenge with the challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches

I tried to match the colors as close as I could by using Colorbox silver, Memento Sweet Plum and Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers.  The sentiment, border and chevrons are from the set Rad and the circles and dots are from Ellen Hutson's Bokeh Dots.

Just Us Girls #344 - Color Week

It's my turn again to hostess this week's Color Challenge over at Just Us Girls.  I have chosen Plum, Olive and Ivory.  You can add neutrals if needed, but please no other colors.

Once again this week, we have our Guest Designer - Aileen Ryan joining us at JUGS for our Color Challenge.  Come on over to JUGS to see how Aileen and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have used this color combo.

Images and sentiment are from the Beautiful set from Altenew.  I just recently got a few sets from Altenew and am totally in love with them.  The flower was stamped in shades of plum and the leaves in shades of olive onto ivory cardstock.  Used a stitched, scalloped border die to cut the mat and then layered onto a plum base.

Triple Time

Playing with the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch!

Stamped the fleur-de-lis onto some gray striped cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with Stampendous Antique Silver ep.  Splattered some silver Wink of Stella and stamped the sentiment onto some vellum with Brilliance black ink. and adhered to a gray card base.  Stamps by Gina K.

Next is the sketch for CAS Colours & Sketches 

Stamped the Pretty Patterns by Gina K in Memento Tuxedo Black onto some yellow polka dot paper.  The sentiment is by Tim Holtz.  Added some arrows and little stars with Memento Morocco.  Easily lined up with my MISTI.

Last of all, playing along with the Altenew Challenge.

Stamped the Beautiful Day flower in yellows with the outline in brown, then fussy cut it out.  Die cut the tag in brown and diagonal striped piece in Denim Blue.  Stamped the sentiment from Bottle Full onto a tiny tag and attached with some yellow baker's twine.

Just Us Girls #343 - Trend Week

Judy is our hostess this week for our Trend Challenge at Just Us Girls!  We are to use vellum on our projects this week.  There are so many things you can do with vellum.

I was inspired by a video that Jennifer McGuire recently aired, and it looks like a few other JUGS girls watched the same video!  I changed it up a little by keeping the vellum over just the image panel and not extending beyond that.  I used the Beautiful set from Altenew and the die is from Concord & 9th.  I ran across some prismatic cardstock in my stash and used that for the sentiment, very sparkly irl.

Playing with CASual Fridays - Birthday Girl

And Addicted to CAS - Plaid

The plaid background was stamped using a thin, straight line stamp from Gina K In Stitches in Memento Rosebud and Dandelion.  Stamped the bold happy birthday from CASual Fridays Shenanigans with Versamark and heat embossed with some sparkly copper ep.  Die cut the balloons from WPlus9 from some hot pink cardstock, sponged the edges with Rosebud ink then covered with clear Wink of Stella.  Stamped the balloon strings and the little bows with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Yellow Flower with Splatters

Ok, I just couldn't stop with this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

This time I stamped the dotted panel from Gina K with Memento Rose Bud and the sentiment from Altenew with Rich Cocoa.  The splatters were done with Rich Cocoa and some gold Wink of Stella.  The flower is from Concord & 9th, die cut from yellow cardstock and colored with Touch Twin markers and added a sparkly dot to the flower center.

Monochrome Sketch

I also used the theme from Cardz 4 Guyz - Challenge #118 Monochrome

I used stamps by Tim Holtz and Ellen Hutson stamped in various shades of brown - Memento Espresso Truffle, Rich Cocoa, Soft Sand and Peanut Brittle on ivory cardstock.  One layer - quick and easy!

Hopefully this will put a smile on my niece's face.  She is battling breast cancer and I've been sending her cards at least weekly for encouragement.

Just Us Girls #342 - Word Week

Sharyn is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls for Word Week and her Word that she has chosen is "Butterfly".  I know I have seen a lot of butterflies on cards lately and this Word is very timely since we will be seeing butterflies any time now, I hope!

Welcome to Aileen Ryan, our Guest Designer for May!  Come on over to JUGS to see some more butterfly creations by Aileen and the rest of the JUGS Design Team.

First of all, I can't take credit for the beautiful watercoloring on this card.  It's a pre-folded card from Concord & 9th!  I stamped the flourish in Memento Nautical Blue.  Die cut the butterfly from some slightly sparkly pink cardstock and glued just the body of the butterfly to the card base.  Adhered some gold foil to a double sided adhesive sheet then die cut the sentiment.

Stamped the background with a polka dot background stamp by Cornish Heritage Farms with Memento Luxe Dandelion ink.  The "happy" is from  WPlus9 and the leafy flourish and butterfly are from a Hero Arts set.
