Just Us Girls #573 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and I'm the hostess.  I am fascinated by the Northern Lights/ Aurora Borealis and I found this photo of them that I chose as our inspiration this week.

First I would like to thank our Guest Designer, Leslie Turner for joining us this past month with all of her amazing creations!  Now, come on over to JUGS to see how Leslie and the rest of the Design Team were inspired by this photo.

I started out by stamping the images from Gina K's Life is Good and heat embossed with black ep.  Colored the land and water with Touch Twin markers.  Used Distress Oxide inks in various colors direct to paper for the lights and blended black Distress Ink down from the top.

Share with us how this photo inspires you and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Loved this challenge! In fact, I got an order for 4 of my cards! Love your land on this pretty inspired card

I guess swiping was the answer, Sue, because I had a difficult time with mine using blending tools. I love how the lights radiate behind your trees. Beautiful card!

Sue, the sky you created is simply stunning set against the silhouette of the trees!

Wow Sue you have made the most amazing realistic Northern Lights. What a beautiful card you have made for us with that stunning photo. Thanks for giving me the chance to walk down memory lane.

Such an atmospheric scene, Sue, with the gorgeous Northern Lights backlighting your trees/landscape. This, made in multiples, would make a lovely note card set!

What an amazing inking and blending job, Sue. I love how you heat embossed the image using black powder, this is beautiful.
