Snowflakes!

There are 2 challenges this week to use snowflakes:
Addicted to CAS

and CASology

Embossed a piece of Core'dinations cardstock with a snowflake folder and lightly sanded to reveal the lighter core.  Added the Tim Holtz snowflake and 25 die cuts from some Core'dinations Glitter Silk.  Added a strip of washi tape and mounted onto a piece of gray cardstock die cut with a Spellbinders die.  Stamped the Kitchen Sink Stamps flourishes with WPlus9 white ink and the sentiment from Gina K with Vivid Teal ink.

Crafty Friends Challenge #1

I just happened upon this blog Crafty Friends Challenges http://craftyfriendschallenges.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/?p=16
and their first challenge is Vintage, so I thought I'd give it a try.

I just read about this technique in Tim Holtz's new book A Compendium of Curiosities Volume II.
He calls it Enameled Metals.  It reminds me of old fashioned tin ceilings.  After embossing the foil, I painted it with a green paint dauber then lightly sanded it when it was dry.  Very cool effect!  The image is from Gina K's Vintage Chic.  The black border is a Spellbinders die as well as the ovals.  Added some lace, because what is vintage without it?

Another MOJO Monday Sketch

Here is another one for the MOJO Monday Sketch #222  with a masculine twist http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/2012/01/mojo-monday-222-contest.html

This is a card of encouragement for a dear friend.  The sentiment is a partial by Studio G.  The background is from Core'dinations Graphic 45 Timeless collection that I recently won.  The gears are by Sizzix - Tim Holtz and the dp is DCWV.  The edges are sponged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.

Another Tag

This is my version of Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas - Tag 10  http://timholtz.typepad.com/

The tag was sponged with Old Paper distress ink, stamped with archival black ink.  Then the pine branches were stamped with Pine Needles distress ink then sprayed with Gold Glimmer Mist.  I had a little problem with the ornaments drying, then finally decided to use double sided tape.

Tim Holtz Inspired

I've been playing along with Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas  http://timholtz.typepad.com/.  I just love his creativity.  Here are a few tags that I have made.

I didn't have the snowman die, so I stamped the snowman from Gina K's Winter Friends on the back side of my Grunge Paper which was painted with white acrylic paint dabber and cut it out.  Covered with Crackle Accents then sponged with Distress Inks when it dried.  The flourish border is cut from acetate and sponged with the white paint dabber.  Added Stickles to his hat and bottom.

This one uses Gina K's Tree Silhouettes and Vintage Borders.  The sentiment is done in emboss resist and is by Studio G.  The small branches are by Inkadinkado.

I don't know who the flourish background is by, I've had it a long time and it's unmounted.  The candlestick is a combination of stamps from Gina K's Lovely Shelf with the branch punches by Martha Stewart.

Check out Tim's blog, he has some pretty amazing creations.
