Just Us Girls #472 - Photo Week

It's time for Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen an awesome photo for our inspiration!

It's sad to say it's our last week with our 2 amazing Guest Designers - Janet Ribet and Cindy Major!  A huge thank you to both of you for joining us this past month and sharing your amazing talent with us!  Now come on over to the JUGS Blog to see what these 2 amazing ladies along with the rest of the talented Design Team have created with the Photo as inspiration.

When I saw the Photo, I knew I wanted to dig out this very old Stampin' Up set!  Stamped the ship with Versamark and heat embossed with white ep onto some Gina K Denim Blue cardstock.  Layered onto some gray, blue striped patterned paper, more of the Blue Denim then onto a white card base.

Now it's your turn to come join our Photo Challenge at JUGS!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Hello Gorgeous!

I wanted to send a card to a friend who is continuing to battle cancer and was inspired by the sketch challenge at STAMPlorations

The color blocks were made by inking some acrylic blocks with turquoise and lime green inks and stamping onto the cardstock.  The butterfly was created by using the leaf stamps from Retro Mod Shapes and drawing the body and antennae with a black gel pen.   Added some clear Wink of Stella to the wings. The sentiment is from A Girl and Her Shoes.

Thanks for visiting!

Birthday Boy

Using the sketch from Mojo Monday for my grandson's 5th birthday card.

Stamped and die cut some various balloons from different companies and heat embossed the bi 5 with a royal blue ep.   Dug through my stash to find some papers in lime green and blue and the rest just fell into place!

Thanks for stopping by!

Twofer - Birds

Using Birds for the Twofer Card Challenge

Using Tim Holtz's Crazy Birds.  Stamped, die cut and colored the same bird with Touch Twin markers.  Added some of their accessories to make one a birthday card and the other a Valentine's card.  Stamped the falling hearts from Concord & 9th and added the sentiment on a little banner.  The balloons and the heart box of candy's ribbon have some clear Wink of Stella added for a little shimmer. The birds are looking up at the balloons and hearts falling from the sky.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Burgundy Birthday

Playing along with STAMPlorations CAS Challenge, Anything CAS Goes with the optional color twist: Burgundy.

Stamped some of the flowers from Big Bloom Factory with burgundy ink then cut them out.  Added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the centers, sprinkling with burgundy glitter.  Wasn't happy with the results, so added some Stickles in Burgundy over the centers.  Spritzed some watercolor paper with water and used an Inktense pencil in burgundy to create the color wash background, then flicked some more color from the pencil with a water brush for some splatters.    Stamped the sentiment from Chevron & Arrows and die cut with a banner die.  Put it all together onto a burgundy layer and onto a white card base.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Boots in the Snow

Joining in on the Tagsplorations Challenge at STAMPlorations with the theme All About Winter.

Started by sponging some Weathered Wood Distress ink on the white die cut tag.  Stamped the puddle (the wrong side of one of the splatter stamps from Holiday Artsy) with more Weathered Wood and blending it with a water brush.  Used a stencil with a white Wink of Stella pen for the falling snow.  Stamped the boots from A Girl and Her Shoes, colored with Touch Twin markers and cut them out, then sprayed them with Triple Thick Clear Glaze giving them some shine.  Adhered the boots and stamped the sentiment in black ink.  Tied it off with some red ribbon.

Just Us Girls #470 - Trend Week

It's time for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has chosen the Emboss Resist Technique!

We have our 2 Guest Designers with us again this week, Cindy Major and Janet Ribet!  Come check out JUGS to see what Cindy and Janet along with the rest of the awesome Design Team have created using the Emboss Resist Technique.

This started by clear embossing the Unity floral image on white cardstock.  Next blended some chalk ink over the background applying the pad directly to the cardstock.  Buff off the flowers with a paper towel.  Next stamped the flourish in a coordinating ink behind the flowers and buff off again.  Used a Tim Holtz brick embossing folder, inked it with gray ink and pressed it onto the entire panel and rubbing to transfer the ink.  Stamped the sentiment, matted on gray then onto a white card base.

Come join us with this fun technique and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week!  That would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #469 - Word Week

Welcome back after our Christmas break!  It's time to play again at Just Us Girls and I am the hostess this week for our Word Week.  The word I have chosen is Leftovers.  I want you to think on the lines of using up many leftover pieces you find in your craft area.  Maybe you have some backgrounds you were playing around with, some die cuts, some stamped pieces, some foiled pieces that never made it onto a card.  Let's use up some of those Leftovers!

And I would like to welcome our 2 Guest Designers for the month of January!  A big welcome to Janet Ribet and Cindy Major!  Come on over to the JUGS Blog to see how Janet, Cindy and the rest of the amazing Design Team have used up some Leftovers!

The only piece that was not on my desk is the kraft card base.  I used the patterned paper, the copper cardstock, the die cut deer and the foiled sentiment to make this shaker card.  The shaker pieces were all leftover pieces laying around on my desk including sparkly stars and some circles from a polka dot die cut tag cover.  There are also some sequins which were randomly scattered on my desk that didn't make it back into their containers.  The acetate was cut from some packaging that I threw on my desk that I thought would have some use in creating.

This one again uses items found on my desk.  The foiled background was an experiment to see how I could change the background color on some Foil Mates by sponging ink onto it before I foiled it and it worked!  The beer bottle, die cut oval and the foiled sentiment were in a basket of saved items.

Come over to JUGS to show us how you use your Leftovers and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
