Just Us Girls #551 - Wild Card Week

 We have a 5th Saturday this month, so that means it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Carol is challenging us to create with butterflies!

Sadly, this is our last week with our August Guest Designer, Lisa Elton. Come on over to JUGS to see all of the beautiful butterflies by Lisa and the rest of the Design Team.

Using Stamps from Concord & 9th and Gina K.  Butterfly colored with Prismacolor watercolor pencils in yellow, purple and navy blue and a waterbrush and added some clear Wink of Stella to the wings.  Added some purple Wink of Stella dots mixed in with the blues from the Turn-a-bout.

 It's time for our Photo Week Challenge at Just Us Girls and Maria has chosen a very cool photo for our inspiration.

I didn't have any coffee stamps so I went with the swirl in the coffee.  Embossed the cream background with a Darice ef then inked with Memento Rich Cocoa and Soft Sand.  Added the sentiment stamped with the Rich Cocoa and added a couple of hearts.

Just Us Girls #549 - Color Week

 It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Angie has chosen a gorgeous combination for us to play with!

Using Concord & 9th's Dahlia Turn-a-bout set using Gina K inks and cardstock.  Embossed the sentiment with tan ep.

I don't remember who makes this dragonfly set, but these colors seemed perfect for them.  Watercolored with Distress Oxide inks in Seedless Preserves and Broken China and for a little shimmer, added some clear Wink of Stella to the wings.

Just Us Girls #548 - Trend Week

 It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen to challenge us to create a die cut window.

Started by die cutting the flourishy frame from some dark olive cardstock then rubbed some Peeled Paint Distress Oxide over the raised areas.  Used the Precious Moments image that was gifted to me and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  Adhered the frame over the image and then adhered to a card base.

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and this week's word is Travel, chosen by Ina!

I have been missing being able to fly out to visit my son and his family so I chose this plane image.

Stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and then sponged the edges with Vintage Photo DI.  Stamped the sentiment in the same Rich Cocoa.

Just Us Girls #545 - Color Week

It's time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and Cecile has chosen a beautiful color combo for us to play with!

Check out JUGS to see how our Guest Designer, Trina Pham and the rest of the Design Team have used these colors.

Stamped the flower from Stamplorations in teal ink on light gray cardstock and colored with a Prismacolor pencil and blended with Gamsol.  Masked the flower and stamped the little bud branches with mustard colored ink then used a gray marker to color the stems (the gray over the yellow looks more green than gray).  Added some clear gloss on the buds.  Added the big flourish from Kitchen Sink Stamps in Stampin Up Going Gray.  Layered onto some teal and onto a mustard card base.  Added the sentiment from Hero Arts first in teal, but didn't stand out enough so restamped in black ink.

Just Us Girls #544 - Trend Week

It's time for our Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has chosen a very trendy challenge for us this week!

This was going to be a one layer card until I embossed the floral image, so had to add a strip sentiment from Gina K.  Floral image from Unity using markers to ink it up then stamped a second time with Versamark and heat embossed with clear.  Used a cracked stencil and Distress Ink in Antique Linen over the flowers and rubbed off the embossed areas.  The top and bottom stripes are also a stencil using Memento Espresso Truffle ink.
