More Halloween

Still working on Halloween cards for my grandsons and I was using some old stamps from my stash and used the sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  And since I actually was shopping through my stash, it fits the Shopping Our Stash Weekly Challenge - Frightfully Delightful.

I started off by randomly sponging Distress Inks on the background in purple, blue and black.  Splattered some white shimmer mist on top.  Stamped the spider circle from Studio G that I have had forever and never inked and heat embossed then sponged on some more Distress Inks in yellows then die cut. Stamped the sentiment from There She Goes (another set from my stash) with Versamark and heat embossed in purple and yellow.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #654 - Color Week

It's time for Color Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa K. has chosen a lovely color combo for us to play with.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our fabulous Guest Designer, Lynne Jardine and the rest of the talented Design Team have created using these colors.

Digging through my patterned paper once again and found this notebook look paper which is a light blue striped with a single orange stripe and the light orange striped polka dot paper.  Die cut the star from a Stamplorations shaker die in a metallic light blue paper and the back from the light orange polka dots.  Filled with some chunky glitter and a few orange sequins and die the string from some brown cardstock.  Stamped in orange and die cut the Hi and adhered to the front of the balloon.  I will be sending this off to my grandson at college with a little cash tucked inside.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Trick or Treat

Making Halloween cards for my grandsons and ran across this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches which worked perfectly for this grim reaper.

Grim Reaper and sentiment are from There She Goes.  Sponged some purple Distress Ink over the striped piece.  The background is Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock which has been in my stash for a very long time and embossed with the star background then sanded to reveal the purple core.  Put it all together on a purple card base.

Thanks for stopping by!  I would love know what you think.

Just Us Girls #653 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week over at Just Us Girls and it's my turn to be the hostess and I have chosen to challenge everyone to make a Clean And Simple card.

Come on over to JUGS to see what our talented Guest Designer, Lynne Jardine and the rest of the amazing Design Team have created in the CAS style.

Using my new die from Scrapbook.com.  Die cut from red and white glitter cardstock and inlaid the glitter letters into the red frame.  The Santa hat is from Tim Holtz Crazy Birds accessories, colored with Prismacolor markers and paper pieced some of the glitter cardstock on the fur pieces.  The card base is cut from linen cardstock.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #652

It's time for Word Week at Just Us Girls and Ina is challenging us to use up some of our scraps.

Since this is the start of a new month, that means a new Guest Designer!  Please welcome Lynne Jardine!  Check out JUGS to see how Lynne and the rest of the talented Design Team have used some of their scraps.

I have so many leftover/scrap pieces, so I went digging through my many boxes and found this background piece and sentiment and went with that.  The snowflake flourish is new to me by Hero Arts and die cut from Lawn Fawn Pixie cardstock

Cheers to 70 Years

My birthday card for my "Old Man"!

Using the color scheme from Color Hues

And for the Distressing Challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz

Started with some yellow polka dot patterned paper and stamped the big 7-0 in brown ink.  Stamped the bottle from Bottleful by Altenew in Distress Oxide Scattered Straw and brown ink then sponged the edges with Distress Tea Dye.  Stamped the flourish in brown ink and adhered the bottle.  Stenciled the brown stripes down the left side and added to a brown card base.

Do you think he will like it?  Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #651

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen a beautiful photo for our inspiration!

Check out JUGS to see how this photo inspired our fabulous Guest Designer Julie Beech and the rest of the amazing Design Team.

Looking at the sunlight shining on those leaves made me want to add some shine to my card, hence a shaker card with shiny sequins!  Also using up some of my patterned paper stash.   Die cut the frame 3 times in Gina K Honey Mustard and Warm Cocoa and a third from kraft which was heat embossed with Spice ep and staggered them.  Die cut the leaves from watercolor paper which was misted with Lindy's Magicals.  The patterned papers are from the Old World stacks by DCWV that I have had forever.  Added the die cut and heat embossed hello and stamped the autumn which was part of a larger sentiment by masking off the rest of the stamp and die cut with a banner die.

Come play along with us and you could become our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible at a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

I'm also adding this to a couple of other challenges.
